you might be the only osrs content creator i seen that is maxxed/end game level player but hasn't loss touch with the non 1% of the player base. i hope you channel blows up man
Knowledge and understanding is the most important thing. There is a smaller skill gap than you think. It's mechanics and timing in everything, once you get the mechanics down you just need to know how and when you apply it to that boss.
I just went to look at other vids of yours only to realize I already watched them all. If you really are new to the content game that's amazing, you clearly are talented but more importantly you have a great perspective that really speaks to a lot of people. Keep it up brother ❤
Turn your phone on nmz in your pocket when your doing irl things click every few mins to keep yourself logged in and maxed combats will come in no time
i am super excited for your content creator journey keep up the good work u have great information for all people being part of the higher level community i love seeing information like this accessible to others!
Completely agree, great video! It always bothered me that creators never really considered that being max combat stats is a very different perspective for a "midgame" boss. It really starts to trivialize content no matter the gear. Actually when getting a quest cape, I followed the optimized quest guide and I felt like the content was way more fun and rewarding running things "at level".
Can someone show gnomonkey this video? The dude never looks down from his ego mountain to gain these perspectives. What an amazing video keep up the content like this
@@whalevs.dolphin4776 idk if my reply is makes sense, as you put it so eloquently, but I think its funny people like you still go on about him to this day on completely unrelated videos
Another tip for newer players is to focus on learning boss mechanics one at a time. If you struggle with end game bosses choose an easier boss to learn, and the mechanics learned there will carry to another boss.
finally someone said it, I always felt like I had the worst luck ever, even if I managed to get half BIS and half budget geat for a specific boss and still get wrecked with a bunch of 0s while I eat damage constantly
Dude doubles his sub count everytime i click a new upload, earned very quality, glad to say i knew it sonce the first 3 uploads sir, you will be famous, 2 letters, in no time :)
Very good points. This is also why you should wait to do most bosses until you’re a higher level. The amount of kc you will get at a mid lvl just makes most bosses not worth it.
I'd definitely heard that stats were way more important than gear but seeing the massive difference here was helpful, like actually showing side by sides of "here's the best in slot gear, here's the mid gear, mid gear wins because of just a few levels" reallllly sinks it in
Some of the 20m+ upgrades also add very little, or practically nothing. If prims don't add a max hit, they're a cosmetic upgrade. On my iron I still use a mystic top for expert toas / chambers. If I was to get an ancestral top, it wouldn't add a max hit in chambers. It'd be 170m upgrade that adds less than 0.5% dps
damn i rly needed this lol been getting quite disillusioned lately trying to boss with my budget bank and feeling like im slamming my head against a brick wall ty :)
I started playing OSRS first time this year, and I have only lately started to understand importance of stats. Earlier I thought 1 str level = 1 str bonus, not a big deal, but with super combat potion going down to base stats my max hit drops so much. Now I just need to learn to drink them more often.
Well. This makes me feel a lot better about my journey. Did all the quests with basically minimum reqs. Galvek was the worst. Whisperer told me to sit maybe 10 times before a sloppy kill. But i got it done at lower stats and budget gear 😂
Another great video. You lead me to the knowledge, and I am very hard to lead. Looks like I need to get my stats up and stop spending money on fancy gear.
I wish more of the highest level players would explain why max hits are important like this rather than just telling someone to go do 16 hours of NMZ for a week and max their combat in the most boring cut and dry way possible. I knew stats were more important already but I'm glad that you better explained it
Please explain how you calculate the damage taken bit, as the dps calculator by bitterkoekjers doesn't seem to work when calcualting things like rune dragons etc.
Good video, I've heard people often say (offensive) stats matter so much more and did notice that on my way to 126 combat. But here's my question, since I'm not there just yet - strength, range.. also mage offer higher max hits and are important, attack is also somewhat necessary, but what would you say about defence? How big of a deal is it really when it comes to doing content where you need or may need to tank some damage - be it chip / hitting through prayer. Namely Nex, where even in full masori she can still smack you for 30s on a not very rare basis. I've been grinding it boss for a while now with def being at lower 90s and while I slowly level it up, I wonder how big of a difference it could make to get it to 99 compared to e.g. having different/more tanky gear. I understand that this isn't really relevant in many places, since you often negate all/most dmg with prayer, but people still say very low defence content is tough - or perhaps gap between lower def level and ~80/90 is much bigger than maxing the stat (similar to how ~60/70 agility makes run energy restoration already so good and 99 isn't even a very noticeable upgrade). Sorry for one long mess of a comment, appreciate you sharing your knowledge!
Basically on the math i have run, you want to focus 100% on strength only. Unless att gives you a weapon unlock the accuracy is rarely worth it except for much higher levels of PVM (basically anywhere you use defence reducing weapons)
@@ElysianOSRS I added you, the video popped up on my feed and I watched it, but I skipped over the winner part as I totally forgot I entered lol wasn't untill you messaged me that I remembered.
Can you share some of plugins that you're using in this video? I would like to now how you get that counter above of your head on vorkaths kill. Also the charge of trindent and blowpipe if possible. Moreover, great video mate
Brooo did you get the new mic?! I'm not sure if it's that or just better production but the sound is SO crispy in this video!! The "s" also sticks out wayyyy less. This is fantastic!!
@@ElysianOSRS it sounds AMAZING!!! Finishing the video now while eating lunch, it's incredibly interesting! I think your channel is going to get really big! Much love ❤️
@@ElysianOSRSI just have to come back and say tht I'm really proud of you, I'm sorry my comment last time about the mic was a bit harsh. I really like your content and this video is super informative wow!
That's what 291% more dps means. 100% more dps = 2x damage. This because you're doing your initial 100% dps + 100% more dps. This would mean that your initial 100% + 291% more would equal a total of 3.91x damage.
Around 6 minutes you touch on it briefly but in the code and how it statistically calculates dps, damage, etc. The higher you can hit, the lower your chance of hitting a zero. it literally increases your accuracy as well.
That's sort of true but not 100%. Basically you can roll a 0 even on a successful hit. so for example if you had 100% accuracy and a max hit of 3, you could hit a 0, 1, 2, 3 So a max hit increase from 3->4 does reduce your chance of hitting a 0, but it doesn't increase your accuracy
It helps but not as important as damage. In most cases, killing something faster means you take less damage than just having higher defence. But of course, higher defence can help to not get one shot. The game also tries to do more avoidable damage than not so it becomes less helpful the more you know a fight. But definitely helps when learning.
I've always found it a relief to know stats matter much more than gear since you don't need a ton of money to get your stats up. But now I have base 90 combat stats and at least tier 70 gear for each style, I find it hard to decide what to upgrade at what point. Do I upgrade my fighter torso for a bcp? Recently I bought a venator bow over the bcp because I do slayer a lot so I guess it also depends what kind of content you wanna do.
id say hold off on the bcp for a long while, torso is basically just as good (besides defensive bonuses). i woudl say that the biggest upgrade you should aim towards is a bowfa, makes a huge difference and opens up basically all the endgame bosses you range against
fang for melee and bowfa/crystal armor are huge upgrades along with rigour. Id even recommend sticking to barrows gloves, fury and ring of suffering for all 3 attack styles for a while, maybe add in ring of the gods/lightbearer ring to use as needed then upgrade jewelry before you worry about high end armor. Barrows and fighter torso for melee, ahrims for mage and god dhide/crystal armor for range are more than enough to tackle any current content
I recently learnt CG and was very lucky to get armour seeds and bowfa early, so I could spent my savings from CG on something else. Already have fang, all prayers, all zenytes, karils/god dhide with BP or dragonCB/ward (when not using crystal), ahrims, imbued DK rings, lightbearer, BGS and SGS... Not sure what the next upgrade should be, any suggestions? I don't really have skilling goals to spend money on (already close to finishing the diaries + my POH has all important stuff)
@@Chealder hm, you seem to have most of the bases covered! maybe save up for a nice melee spec weapon thatll work well at a boss you like? something like dclaws or voidwaker to hold your money in until the eventual tbow or shadow upgrade >:)
I agree with the concept, but, your examples are too extreme when applied in a real scenario. For example not everyone goes full tank set up they definitely are using a fang and not a zammy hasta. Outside of bandos a normal “tank gear” set up would still use dps gear just using full justy for damage mitigation effect so the difference is quite smaller. Good video either way as again, it gets the concept across great.
Turn piety off during wardens for 1 hit. And you’ll see the difference it makes on the core. I’m maxed. I was also thinking about this. And wondering why. When a friend told me “virtus is only x much more” … “ancestral only z much more” and I’m like wtf…. Why is that junk 300m vs 3m
How have you unraveled max hit? By playing with different levels in a dps calc until it is imbalanced? Set them both to 99 and then talk. I had a look at your melee example, the max hit in both setups was the same, i used zulrah (blue). If the max hits are the same how does this unravel max hit? This is a discussion about levels and weapon choice being more valuable than gear prices, clickbait?
It’s not really that shocking when you consider that one stats are the supreme king when it comes to the damage calculation table and two that the community has been fighting against power creep for a decade which has made top-of-the-line gear, only have very minimal, increases in styles bonuses
I agree, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't try new content if you don't have full bis. I see too many players missing out because they don't learn the mechanics of a new boss just because their missing a single piece of gear they "need".
i fully understand why youtubers dont want to level a new account every month to base 50-70s to make one or 2 videos. But every single osrs content person guides/etc etc etc around low/mid lvl account pvm are 9.9/10 times on a max account & they write that off. insta dislike. if you just want to show mech/etc sure. but don't sit their for a second & pretend like its remotely the same. slower kills = more food/etc used & when your new/bad learning thats the diff from farming a boss poorly vs not even getting a KC i can/did vork as well at 70s as i do now in 90s but i would at peak try hard make 600k a hour their when i started (with lance/woox walking/etc etc) i play pretty relaxed etc. but it scales so much more than people thing long term also slower kill more stuff used more banking/running makes a 30kc a hour boss to like 10kc boss a hour. soo typically its not even worth it for gp unless its a big ticket item boss & you are praying for spoon, or you have awful skill lvls
Glad ur not like everyone else and just says go camp crabs or nmz for a month and get max stats most of us dont have that ability we are trying to play the game and do stuff now not spend the little time we are able to play sitting at crabs or somthin
A big problem i have with this video is that you add rigour and thralls but dont adress them, they add a lot I think that you would need high 90s if not more to actualy beat that gear in a vacume mate...
Rush max combat, buy like 1B in bonds, get Nex gear (Fang/Voidwaker/ZCB/Masori) and then make 10B in a few months and max on reclined mode thank me later noobs
