I was throwing 88 when I was 13. Every coach I ever had said I was insanely developed for my age. There is NO way that kid is only throwing 8 miles an hour slower with that build and that form. Cap
If you want to extend the time your bat stays in the zone, posture is a key component. If your torso is upright the bat will behave more rotationally. If your chest is over the plate more, the bat can stay in the zone longer.
The problem with todays pitchers. Is that theyre only training for i creasing velocity. They do not train for withstanding more throws. I dont see pitchers going on the offseason all the way to 150-200 piches on their bullpens. The only exercise that is going to prepare you to throw 100 potches in the game is to throw 100 pitches in practice.
Many factors. Overuse at a young age, poor physical development at young age, poor understanding of health mechanics, poor understanding of healthy pitches, etc
Great Video. My son is currently a 10U player here in Socal in Pony. Some of his friends are on a travel ball team and would come to practices wearing their travel ball swag hats and sweat shirts. My son would ask me about him joining the travel team. As I watched these travel team kids play I noticed that my son played just as well or better than all of those travel kids. Some of those kids also started to complain about sore arms, at 10 years old!! My feeling is that a lot of these dads are playing through their kids and want bragging rights about how much of a stud their kid is. It has actually become so bad that my wife and I sit in the outfield to avoid all the "talk" on which kid is the stud player.
Simply put, the reason why two seamers have more movement is NOT because they have more rpms, (as in a 4 seam fastball spins more), its actually because of the spin axis
Yes… this is the average of all of their pitches combined (including off-speed), sobobviously it will be below 90mph. However, the average MLB fastball is right around 94mph.
Stay closed longer, head/chin delay facing plate, to prevent flying open. Keeping hip opening closer in timing to shoulders opening and arm whipping towards plate. For better horizontal direction to target. Hope I’m understanding this correctly.
