Excellent restoration on the old Savage. Is this the same as the Montgomery Wards Western Field Model 4C? My Grandpa had one when I was a young kid, and I always thought I was quite the rifleman whenever I got tl shoot it because even I was a great shot with that gun. I fairly confident these old Savages were also the Western Field model as well. I'd sure appreciate any info others may have ab out his.
As a young kid, I have always remembered shooting my Grandpa's 22 bolt action rifle. He's long gone but an uncle now has it. This is the gun it is, but it is stamped as a Western Field, which was the brand name sold thru the old Montgomery Wards stores back in the day. It is still the most accurate 22 caliber rifle any of us has. Impressive.
My first gun, Stevens 84C. An uncle gave to me on my B-day 1966. still have and cherish it. 24" bbl, adult .22. Very accurate. Interested in Warne rings. Has late model alum. Tip-off holding Weaver K2 scope. Doesn't look right but I Will NOT drill this receiver. Thanks for info
Glad this was from 5 years ago. I just bought same barrel and collar combination. I already had the conversion kit and it shot flawlessly though my 556 rifle.
Love the build. One thing I did different was used catch22 gen2 with SW 15-22 mags for the last round bolt hold open. My bolt is also CMMG with lots of bore buddy upgrades.
April 2023: Purchased a MK47 Resolute and right out of the box that does not feed/seat rounds correctly. Tried my Tula Bakelite, Russian steel mags, gen 2 and gen 3 pmags and won't seat correctly 1 out of 3 or 4 rounds. Emailed customer service with a detailed description of the issue: 9 days later, I'm still waiting to hear back. Extremely frustrated so far. I'll post an update.

Awesome video sir! Tell me what muzzle break did use on you rifle? I understand breaks generally make the muzzle report louder than a flash hider. Any advice, guidance &/or experience would be greatly appreciated sir! ROCK🎸ON
Their the pistol grips are amazing. They make to different sizes as well as textures. One is for a AR15 the other is for a AR10. Picked up three MBT straight bow triggers on Black Friday. I was so impressed with the triggers and like you all of the extra stuff that I ordered three grips.
I bought a LaRue trigger for a build and I thought it was better than milspec. I bought a blem Geissele trigger for a URGI blem build and the next trigger I bought for my 3rd AR was another LaRue, and I bought a sweatshirt to wear everywhere. I will never buy another Geissele because I can get something just as good for a third of the cost, which makes it better overall.
Having the same problems with the same CMMG collar and barrel. All reviews I read were great for the barrel and collar. I got the 16" govt profile. It's no more accurate and less reliable than the bravo kit and a 5.56 barrel. Very disappointed.
Good to know. I know this is an older video but I did just find you. They did send me a part for my bolt that broke at no charge but I’ve never tried to return anything. I do use one of their barrel and collar kits that I got from midway. It has worked flawlessly so far
@@rhino67 You can't say that, then end the sentence with a petty straw man fallacy. Tearing down someone is not encouragement if you aren't giving genuine feedback in a constructive manner. C'mon bro, try HARDER.
LOVE YOUR BUILD bro, I've got most of the parts needed need to get a barrel and the delrin parts to set this up but need some guidance on a couple of questions. Is there a way I can bend your ear briefly, any way you're willing I'm down for can call text or email if so just say the word
I have a broken magazine release lever on a CMMG mutant and I’ve emailed tons of times to ask for the part or if I can send it in for repairs which I’m willing to pay for and I can’t get a single return email from their non existent customer service. On the other hand , BCM, Daniels Defense, Henry Repeating arms has absolutely the best customer service in the industry. Enough said !
Until the day I die, I will not ever get a definitive answer as to what a scout rifle actually is, what is the criterea that must be satisfied in order to be considered a scout rifle...
I just built a pistol ar with cmmg bcg,9" barrel and it runs like a clock. I will do business with them again. this 1 instance is not to discourage people. This guy just caught them on a bad day, he should have called the guy in tech again.
I did this same exact thing for my old RM 250. I also used a few pieces that I ripped down on table saw and router for replacement chain slide on my quad skid plate.
Alright so, the robots have deleted this for the fourth time and apparently I can't hotlink an imgur photo of spring comparisons which is an incredible amount of bullshit. stock spring is 1.25cm long. Ernie The Gunsmith's LC6 spring is 1.75 CM long and 2mm wider than stock spring. They are both 5 twists because the Ernies spring is a much thinner gauge. The trigger will accept a slightly wider spring on its studs but not by much. I hope this helps.
For the love of god man, it has been 5 years: WHAT IS THE SPRING DIAMETER AND TWIST RATE. This is literally the definitive video on a Gunsite Scout trigger job, yet we are lacking this incredibly pertinent information!
Even after reading these comments - I ordered an assembled .308 upper in Jan2021. Received confirmation stating they were backordered and were about 5 month out. Tried to call at month 6 - no way to leave a message and email netted me a computer response. I kicked it back asking them to actually read my email and let me know the status of my order.. They couldn't provide me any lead time, let alone something specific. I checked in at month 10 and they stated they were working on orders from Nov2020. No empathy, no explanation, no concern. Cancelled my order and let them know that no matter how good the product is customer service is everything. The complete lack of concern is enough to eliminate them from any future business - period. Ordered the same setup from APF and its already shipped.
I love my CMMG products. If you base your decision to do or not do business with a company based on a RU-vid video complaint, get a life. There are pros and cons with every manufacturer. And when you start piecemealing parts together you’re gonna potentially have issues. CMMG makes a fantastic product and there’s clearly more to this story. No company is perfect but I believe they’re doing the best they can given the times. Let’s all take a breath. I ordered an MKG lower and a Banshee and Resolute upper direct from the company. It took six months for the lower to arrive. Yeah it was frustrating but when everyone panics a picks the shelves clean, the company gets bombarded by orders. Sheesh! Let’s all have a little patience and perspective.
My MK47 Resolute won't seat rounds right out of the box through numerous magazines and customer service hasn't responded yet after a week and a half...
I like the build bud. I’m looking into doing my own now. I found an ATI Omni Hybrid Upper for 25$. It’s polymer and aluminum so I figure I’d build a low caliber on it. Anyway have you tested max distance with accuracy? Just curious how far you can reach while still being accurate.
