Thank you! In a span of two days progressed from "have no idea what happens here" to an imperfect, but already functional technique. All thanks to this video and the follow-up
Beyond useless hobby. Used to be able to do a bridge shuffle perfectly but after trying to do this I can’t even do that anymore. I just threw out my entire deck at this point. Waste of time. Doesn’t help that I was ALMOST able to do this trick but just couldn’t completely pull it off. Hate this trash. Never touching a deck of cards again.
For everyone wondering to learn this you need like 50 dollars worth of decks to do it correctly. You have to brake over 200 cards so dont try this if youre broke
This was one hell of an act. Really well done. There are parts you can easilly see how that works, but a lot of those you cannot. This is indeed like they said a difference between quick change acts and her magic act. It is quick change, but it is more a magic act. A lot of the time the clothing is pulled off of her of course, But let us just enjoy this act.
Big Tip for Everyone Facing Issues! Ensure you're keeping the cards far enough apart when your doing the shuffle! I struggled for weeks, tweaking almost everything, until I re-watched this video and noticed that crucial detail. Now it can do the shuffle no problem!! Thank you so much for the video as it helped me tremendously!!!!
I think there’s another opening on top of the lid or side of the box, that would bypass the lock and greatly simplify the trick. He just needs to put the card inside and close and seal the clay. The clay then masks the opening.
The first video was great, and at the same time, hearing you talk through thoughts about different aspects of the technique was equally useful. Thanks for all you do Jason.
Awesome tutorial. I like to use the fingernail. I could shoot them perfectly things to you but my problem is I can't seem to catch them 🤣🤣🤣 any tips on catching them they seem to fly right out of my hand as soon as they make contact
This was fun to watch. I am 69. I used to be a pretty good shuffler. I just realized why I'm not now after watching this video and it didn't work. I don't have any thumbprints left. I have worn them off. I'm moistened my thumbs and voila it worked. Just a little info for the oldies like me.
my ass has only done practice like for 5 minutes how are they complaining its quite easy to learn of course you cant do it in one day unless you are talented it will take days until you learn it consistently like lifting
Look at the edge of the clay it looks like it has a slot when he hands it to Penn and a card can slide and the alarm was on one side , which means the card could have been slipped in the other side.. I do agree there was hidden decks in the base .. he probably had the clay so it was opened on the one end like a bag and then crumbled it closed it’s at the 9:30 mark
There's so much weird design here that I can't make up my mind, but she definitely didn't use a key or the other stuff wouldn't be necessary. The side locks using pivots makes no sense except to allow for movement. They are locked in an odd angle and the holes drilled for the pins are massive and so allow for movement even without pivoting. The attachment from the top to the front also has a lot of vertical play. The design of the back catches is even weirder and looks artificially raised from the top early on, and it seems easy to hide an enlargened bolt hole and use a tight-ish bolt to prevent inspecting fingers from feeling any play. Each of the shorter side panels have two finger-sized holes drilled through them. The chains on the lid would not be in the design unless they were necessary, and the floor is obviously weird. The grate doesn't look like it allows her hand to reach the lock (Penn and Teller would have caught that), but it does allow her hand through, and if she needed to lift herself off the floor, she could have three points between the chains and one hand out the grate. The box is rectangular, the curtain is square, and so there's room for the entire box to go backwards. I think this is why Penn and Teller went right for the idea of putting the floor through the gap in front corners of the floor's support lip (feed through gap, push the entire box backwards while leaving the floor steady. Normally I would agree with the otyer commenter that she probably lifted herself with the chains and grate, then manipulated the floor into a diagonal orientation, then lifted the box as it fed through the diagonal slit configuration, but so much of the design seems meant to hide slight play that I'm not sure if she didn't still feed it straight through the front or bottom and that Penn and Teller just didn't have the time to work out the details.
