I went through this video and replaced the thermal fuse and the video is perfect for any LG dryer that looks similar. However, after I replaced it, I had the same issue after running it about 4 times. The dryer wouldn't heat. I opened it back up and sure enough the thermal fuse was bad. Short story, the high temp thermostat was likely also bad. If you are replacing the fuse, go ahead and replace the thermostat as well. They often come as a kit anyways and cost very little. The reason the the fuse popped was because the high temp thermostat likely wasn't always cutting off when it should. Basically as the temp approaches a certain temperature, the thermostat stops the heater for a little bit until it cools a little. So just go ahead and replace both. Also, inspect the actual heater. If any of those coils are sort of bowed up or down, they will likely touch the housing as they will be d more when heated. That could also cause the thermal fuse to pop. It is also easy to replace but costs a good bit more(still a lot cheaper than a new dryer).
Just called Samsung and talked to their Customer Service. I had to share video and pictures and once they had the proof they were more than happy to schedule a technician to come out and fix it! Technician is supposed to call me within 48 hours.
This is so great, thanks for showing how to do this without pulling the machine out. Mine is stacked and I would have to get help to pull it down. Hopefully I can pull it off alone without having to drag the whole machine out of the room. My squeak is lower in pitch so I am assuming it is one of my rollers. Anyone compare any of the aftermarket brands to the OEM ones? I'd like some overbuilt roller bearing rollers that hopefully will last a very long time.
inner clamp I found a normal medium Phillips worked just fine. the outer spring wire without a tool I had to place one foot on one side of spring to hold while I just pulled the other side into place.
Thank you very much for posting this video. I had to replace the silicon light pipe for the control buttons. Awesome job explaining how to do remove and taking apart the door. Can't thank you enough. Keep up the great repair work videos, it is greatly appreciated!😁
I realize im 5 years late but.....Did you clean small weeping hole in side of shaft holw. I press in top bearing only first with press tool. Remove tool components from bottom, then slide tube on threaded part of tool, then washer, then lower bearing, tool bushing, tool bearing, tool nut. Tighten nut until bearing bottoms out against washer and tube. 1/8 " or so of bottom bearing edge should be sticking out of tub hole. Remove tool from bottom then rest of it from top. Be sure top bearing is seated as well. Slide in shaft from top. Put a piece of wood on top of shaft and tap with hammer until threads on bottom of shaft are sufficient to thread on nut. Apply blue thread locker to nut. Thread on nut. Tighten slightly with wrench. Do not over tighten or bearing will bind and throw a code. Go back to top with seal. Use. Supplied grease to fill both center hole grooves on seal. Now apply supplied ahesive to outside edge of seal. Cavity side down insert seal on shaft slide down to fit on top of top bearing. Use white pvc pipe that comes with tool slide it over shaft until seal seats. Against top bearing. Apply ahesive around outside edge of seal between liner and outside edge of seal. (Not next to shaft). Return to underneath washer. Reinstall stator grey shield. Reconnect speed sensor wiring, reinstall stator, install stator bolt using blue threadlocker, reinstall rotor cover. Check that rotor cover turns freely and without dragging on liner or stator center. If it will not turn or drags. Remove rotor again go to top using wood on top of shaft tap the shaft with hammer some more. Keep installing rotor cover and tighting center bolt until it turns freely with binding. The shaft nut will need retightening again once rotor cover turns freely. Remember to reapply blue threadlocker to shaft nut and rotor cover bolt on final tightening. Do not use excessive torq on rotor bolt. Remember its plastic.
Thanks for your video. I have the same problem of squeeking but when I removed all the screws at the back of the panel I still can't access to open it as the panel continously wrapped around all the way to the front. Any idea on how to remove😮 the panel of this 17 to 18 year old maytag dryer?
This video is great! We can’t find the info for diagnostic mode and software update for our specific model. Would love help finding this info: Adora GE model #dfe28jmkfes French door
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! My washer was stuck in sensor mode and I thought I was going to have to shell out a couple hundred bucks to the appliance repair person. One quick diagnostic cycle and the issue fixed itself!
Why are these companies making such trash and selling it to us. I bought their washer 5 months ago and now it's no longer working. It is stuck in locking and unlocking lid mode and then it shuts off.
i was having a problem with the dead display on a GE dishwasher where The service led was blinking steadily, after ordering a new UI and Control board I continued researching and troubleshooting the DW while waiting on parts. I ran across comment on another video where it it explained that the harness up to the UI is a Data connection and the plug can get corroded from the humidity that's present during the DW operation. He suggested using some dielectric grease on both ends of the harness and connect and reconnect the plugs 5-6 times or so which would clean off the corrosion . This fixed the no display issue on my DW and I returned the boards for a refund when they were delivered
Yer a genius for sharing this! Many thanks and thanks for, yes, your very human approach to sharing critical information. Now let’s see if I can get my clothes dry again too.
