Welcome to the Channel! I usually do reviews or talk about anime related content. Whether it's anime, manga, visual novels, or anime like games that I have strong opinions on I will most likely talk about it. Hope you stick around and enjoy!
It's always so jarring to be reminded that Ef is 18 years old now. The visuals and writing does not reflect that in the slightest which really goes to show how timeless it is!
If you’re reading the Eng translation you are doing it wrong. Learn Japanese my friend and not this terrible TL which doesnt convey the full meaning. You can do it and you’ll never look back
Learning Japanese is one of my main goals and something I have been working at for almost a year now! Going back to a lot of favorite VNs in Japanese is one thing I'm looking forward as I get grow and get better.
@@NeNeiSan let’s gooo! Please make use of the moeway guide and the DJT guides they’ll help tons. Stick at it and soon you’ll be reading japanese as easy as English! 頑張れ
@@remonimodexd7116Haven't heard of those resources before, but just going through them this passed hour has told me these are going to be extremely helpful, for both keeping a routine and new ways to learn. That video playlist in the MoeWayGuide has already taught me something I feel I should have learned from the start, haha! 絶対に頑張れよ!ありがとうご!!!
The original PS2 Matsuri version of Miotsukushi-hen is definitely my favorite arc of this series. I'd love to also see it in English dub anime and manga format, but I doubt we ever will. Oh well. At least we still have an English translation of it in visual/sound novel format now, something I secretly wanted since early-mid 2013. I'll take what I can get. Also, Keiichi and Rika all the way. Great synergy between them in this arc, particularly.
Kanon is still considered a masterpiece of its time, not perfect but a true classic, good story, likable MC and characters, amazing casting on both the anime adaptations and banger music, although i don't see Key making a sequel to Kanon anytime soon, but hey Yui Horie's got a better reputation than her Love Hina role.
Truly a lot of Kanon's influence can be seen even today, and set a strong foundation for the future of Key. Nothing can quite capture its ambiguous yet nostalgic atmosphere. To this day it is such a moving work!
I know friends who play FGO and they were talking about the Mahoyo collab and it makes me so jealous cause I haven't read Fate or Mahoyo and assuming that the event is limited I cant experience it since im a rather slow reader and that's my problem with events, FOMO makes me mad especially for gacha games, I have zero clue if the event is permanent and if it has spoilers but im serious contemplating having the chance to get spoiled just to play the event
I really feel that and is one of my main complaints with FGO has a whole. Almost 9 years in, and besides for a limited handful, events are big in the FOMO department. Some of them do get reruns, although they have been quite rare recently. Not all hope is lost though! FGO has many regional servers that are all at a different point in FGO's lifecycle. It may be gone on JP for an unknown time, but in around 2 years the event will come around on the NA server! Which should give you time to catch up with the material if you ever decide to jump in. Though it's not the same as playing through it yourself, the entire story of the event is translated and uploaded on Neobenedict's channel!
@@NeNeiSan that may be a problem for others on how events are not out in certain regions at the same time but a blessing for me, I hope to be caught up by then.
This event was a beautiful gift for those who read Mahoyo, especially for the interactions between the characters we know and love. It almost felt like Nasu was giving us a little teaser of these characters after Mahoyo. I hope that with the movie, the mushroom decides that it's a good idea to start with the sequels now that more people will know about this tale.
Nasu killed it with the group's chemistry once again, haha, it feels like they never left. With all the cards he played here, as well as with the film adaptation on the horizon, it certainly feels like those plans are being set in motion. The future of Mahoyo is looking bright once again!
This event was such a big surprise, incredible story and it has so much to tease for the future. It really made me want more Mahoyo and carries the spirit of what made that story good with FGO's cast. It's a wonderful event, a true collaboration that made the years worth the wait. I'm gonna miss these guys...
So much was packed into it that it truly felt like a hearfelt setup for what's to come. I would like nothing more than to just see more the Mahoyo trio, they are one of a kind! To the next 10 years!
4:31 you said Emiya kititsu gu possess a reality marbe though i would say it is a bounded field he inherited from his father and the magic crest applying to himself.
That and the usual 07th voice acting would be a huge improvement! Weird thing is that in the game files there is a single Alchemist sprite of Marie that we never see.
Planning to read this in the future is there Abu specific route order you would recomend or can I just after the characters I foundation most intresting? Also good review makes me excited to read it in the future.
Have yet to play it, but from the clips I saw I can kind of hear it... A little. The one I did saw with the counselor had me dying of laughter, that's for sure!
*gestures wildly at Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi* (aka YOU and ME and HER: A Love Story. Aka Totono) If you like 4th wall breaking denpa, heartfelt stories, self reflection, and cute waifus, this is the bishōjo game to end all bishōjo games.
Does it have any connection to Fate stay night and tsukihime or would you say it is mostly separate since I do they take place in the same universe. Also would you recommend this as a good starting point for nasu verse among visual novels or would you say it is better to read fate stay night or Tsukihime first then they have gotten their remake outs in official release?
I would say this is one of the better starting point for anyone getting into Nasu's works! This was originally going to be Nasu's first ever published novel back in the 90s--- of course revised and changed over time ---and you can tell with how it so succintly establishes the world and its major characters. Each of Nasu's works can be read standalone, and though a lot of worldbuilding ideas and even some characters are shared between these works to varying degrees, your understanding won't be majorly affected. You can really go in whatever order that interests you, but if you don't really mind and just want to see what this world has to offer this is the order of the major entries I recommend to understand as much references upon your first viewing of these entries: Witch on The Holy Night - Kara No Kyoukai: Garden of Sinners - Tsukihime - Fate/Stay Night Again they aren't majorly connected, but Nasu likes to make callbacks quite often and allows you to get a sense of progression of a few shared characters. Nothing major, but something you can appreciate on the side!
@@NeNeiSan It won’t entirely be my first intro to fate with having watched fate zero and unlimited blade works anime. Either way I was wondering if there is a specific order I should read the routes for fate stay night plan to read it in the future then the remakes come out.
@@axelpettersson1482 Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, then Heaven's Feel is the intended route order you don't want to stray from! The original game had the routes locked, meaning you could only go through a route if you beat the previous one. That may be the case for the re-release too, but keep that order in mind just in case they make any changes!
Rance is such a weird game, as in that you have to have a certain way of viewing media. Like if you take the series to serious and strip it of all the things that builds its charming and cruel identity all youd get is some fetishistic mind numbing nukige, but if you take the time and mind to indulge yourself in a way that you know what ever is happening is happening in a way that is supposed to be just entertainment with a cast and world turned to 11 in its absurdity you get one of the most funny, charming, flat out insanely entertaining games you will ever play. playing the original 3, I think with all the flaws that come from the games being 30 by now is how rewarding it is to see not only the world developed in a literary sense but in a technical way with each game the art, software and gameplay got upgraded and it was so nice to see how it changed like seeing rance 1 compared to rance 3 is insane for a 3 year difference that art actually looked fairly pretty in my opinion and the writing got even more funny with the games getting their lenght doubled each game allowing for more time for the writer to immerse us in this batshit crazy world. while ill be one to admit that the gameplay for the games that ive played were for me the weakest points, everything more than makes up for it. I havent finished the third game as of yet as i took a break from playing due to college classes taking up more and more of my free time but once i get the time i cant wait to go back in and continue the series as it brought me some of the most entertaining stories ive read in recent times and just the massive scale of the future games get me hyped to see what else the franchise has got to offer.
Completely agree! Everyone has their own relationship with fiction, but it's very important to be open to how thing a story tends to portray certain things. Especially with something like Rance that does take an unorthodox approach to how it handles its sensitive topics in a more brighter light than what is seen as dark and traumatizing. Rance plays on that contrast and twists it into something that fits the story it wants to tell, sometimes even making you laugh due to Rance just being himself! These games are gems that just makes you want to dive deeper into not only the world and characters, but the vibe that comes from its hilarity. I too love how the story, stakes, and characters keep on growing with every game, and am very excited to see where this goes from here! My college classes are holding me back from continuing too, but I cannot wait to start up 4!
Rance as a character make perfect sense with the way he act if you know his backstory It's never talked about in the main game and mostly stuck on the book/lore manual
@@NeNeiSan It's already abridged in the manual so no full story provided for rance backstory And you can get it on certain site but it's on Japanese obviously But Steiner (The Rance fan of the western fandom) tled it I will copy paste it here
GI0998: Rance is born on January 5th GI1002: At the age of 4, Rance is brought to Gomorrah Town by a one-armed knight. Shortly afterwards the knight passes away, leaving Rance in the care of the village chief's household. He has no memory except for his name, but his friendly attitude and puppydog eyes make everyone fawn over him. He's accepted by the village as a result. GI1005: At the age of 7, Rance gets lost and wanders into a monster-infested forest. He returns to Gomorrah a week later, covered in blood. GI1006: Now 8 years old, Rance is a scrappy little brat... But he's strong. None of the other kids can match up to him, so he becomes the de-facto leader of the village children. GI1010: At 12, he graduates from foundational education. He's not allowed to continue on to vocational education as he's been raised as a servant in the chief's house. GI1011: At the age of 13, puberty starts setting in. He starts teasing the eldest of the village chief's two daughters. Quickly becomes a pro at flipping skirts, and before long the village views him less as that sweet little boy and more of a pervy little menace... The eldest daughter is compassionate and naïve, still thinking of Rance as just a silly little boy being a silly little boy. Rance takes advantage of this and escalates his teasing to what effectively qualifies as sexual harassment. The village chief eventually finds out about this and smacks the shit out of Rance, he no longer has any chance of getting near the elder sister. GI1012: At 14, he has his first time with the village chief's youngest daughter. Seeing her usual rigid demeanor melt like putty under him after he has his way with her, Rance's self-imposed limits break down entirely. He goes full-on playboy after having a taste of sex and goes on to seduce multiple girls in the village, one after the other. In the end he fucks eight girls including both of the village chief's daughters. Eventually his sexual escapades are made a matter of public knowledge, sending a scandal rippling through the village. He's unceremoniously kicked out of the village and tries to make it on his own. He comes across a female adventurer and immediately tries to turn on the puppydog charm, pretending to need her help to get closer to her. She sees right through what he's planning and beats him to a pulp before deciding to take him on as an apprentice adventurer in an effort to rehabilitate him. GI1013: At the age of 15, Rance becomes an adventurer and tags along with the woman who'd taken him under his wing. She's 21 years old and has lived a harsh life of survival, so she sets to work teaching him about everything he needs to know to survive on the road. She also talks to him about how he can't just go jumping on women like an animal, and teaches him how to use things like contraception. He still tried to make moves on her whenever he thought her guard was down, but her guard was always up and he never had a chance. Their relationship was more like a master and apprentice, as opposed to siblings, but she was still the closest thing to family he ever had. GI1014: 16 years old. After 2 years of adventure together, the female adventurer dies on a quest. Keith, of Keith's Guild, was a friend of hers. He takes in Rance after realizing the kid's all alone. GI1015: 17 years old. With nobody to keep him in check, Rance takes whatever quests he wants and becomes a serial harasser of women. He flirts and gropes as he pleases, which gets him into a few dangerous situations. He gets involved with a woman related to a criminal organization and nearly gets killed, but manages to get away. He gets tricked by a woman named Sally who ends up saddling him with debt, so he spends a few months hunting her down to get revenge. He gets involved in an incident where a wizard thinks he might be the Hero and wants to possess his body, but he kills the wizard. GI1016/LP0001: 18 years old. Meets Sill Plain in the month of April, 4 months before Rance 01 : The Quest For Hikari
Thank you so much for this! This does give a some nice groundwork to his character even if it is pretty short. Now seeing that he has a basis for his ego, with his enviornment failing to his "desires" in check multiple times, along with some other inferences of his character makes a lot of sense. Definitely excited to see more of him as I dive deeper into the series!
@@NeNeiSan No problem Thankfully Rance as a character actually progress but for his backstory, Alicesoft is always conflicted whether they want to tell or not in the main story so his backstory just stuck in the manual. So i think this abridged backstory by alicesoft is suffice for fans to understand
Rance is my favorite video game series of all time. I've been a big Rance fan since I played Sengoku Rance back in 2011 and have finished the entire series. You're in for quite the ride if you stick with it.
That is amazing to hear! Hats off for Alice Soft, for creating a 29 year series that, from what I've heard, is consistently filled with incredible entries! There is just so much to love it very well could be one of my favorites too, very soon.
