It's a pity you don't make videos any more. You presented inexpensive calibres that were accessible to beginners, and you presented your work with humility and common sense. The video on repairing a Timex, for example, is almost unique on RU-vid and has certainly been very useful to many people. I hope all goes well for you and that I see you again on my subscription feed!

Yes, I have bought from amzwatch more than once. I even bought a new Omega Speedmaster which came with the fancy box and packaging. I am thrilled with all my purchases here. I would purchase from amzwatch again for sure.

Ever since I bought a watch from MAMACOO , My question is if it's this hard to tell them apart, what is the point of owning an authentic watch?

Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from amzwatch I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.

Picked up a MAMACOO's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!

I paid 80.00 for my Invicta nearly 5 years ago and it still runs perfectly, keeps great time and still looks fantastic. It has many times been misidentified by friends as a Rolex, I always tell them, "No, it's an 80 dollar Invicta and runs perfectly!"

If it is not worth doing well, it is not worth doing. There is no reason why 70 dollar automatic watches should be made, because they can not be made properly. If you do not get manual winding, hacking seconds, good accuracy, proper quality case, dial, waterproofing, good strap/band, the watch is simply not worth existing. If you just need to see time, there are perfectly good quartz watches. Automatic watches are bought because user enjoys and respects mechanical devices. No point in buying a mechanical watch that is of poor quality.

The movement for the watch that you worked on in this video costs around $30-35. If I personally had a problem with one I would change the movement for ~$30. I haven't progressed to taking a movement apart and giving a proper service. If my interest continues I may go in that direction.

I have an original 1970's Swiss Invicta. It's a rectangular tank type I guess you would say, but with 70's styling. I also have 2 early 2000's 'Pro Diver' diver style Invictas. One has a Miyota 8215 movement, and a nice natural whitish mother of pearl dial. It has mineral glass for the crystal and is nicely scratched up because I wore it every day. It was very consistent and accurate with time keeping. I have another diver style, slightly larger Invicta with a Swiss movement (I haven't opened it up to see the maker yet.) It's a bit larger also with a mother of pearl dial, but in dark brown. This one has a sapphire crystal. I did not wear this one much at all. Both of my 'modern' Invicta diver style watches have nice bracelets but with pins not screws. The clasps are stamped not milled but decent. I have nothing bad to say about them.

The Invicta 1953 is a better option, but for $60 that’s amazing value. The NH35 is a true workhorse of a movement. I went with a Steeldive 1953 instead and I couldn’t be happier, it’s some serious quality for $100. I plan on getting a Steinhart next, and might just stop there for my Submariner desires. I’d rather have some Casio Edifice’s and Oceanus’s. Go from Casio to Cartier. 👌🏼

I ordered a Slava with the same movement from Ukraine a bit over a month ago. It's actually a pretty stout watch for what it's worth and I didn't pay much even after it was done over by a watchmaker before being listed for sale. I know these aren't really valuable price wise, but it is valuable in the fact it still serves its purpose well and I won't really feel too bad if an already used watch gets a bit more used. I'll never feel guilty wearing the thing. The main differences with mine is it's more rounded and doesn't curve in where the straps go and the face is like an olive color with a really cool brushed metallic effect when the light hits it. Internally though, it's the same mechanism as this one, all 26 jewels and all.

I own between 10 and 12 Invictas which I purchased for between $60 and $250 (from the cheapest to the most expensive Invicta). They are great watches and give you classic styling to accessorize your look without the huge price tag. Significantly more robust than other watches at this price point and they hold up for years. Some of my Invictas are going on 10+ years. My only two complaints would be that any gold plating on the bracelets of their gold watches wears off pretty quickly with daily wear, so I normally get their stainless steel bezel designs with steel bracelets. Second, if you are rough on watches, you CAN break these things. I have killed two doing dumb stuff like rock climbing in them. Still, I'd rather have 10 very nice watches in a variety of styles and colors than one super expensive watch that I'm afraid to wear being active.

It’s funny finding out my pro diver automatic is seiko movement inside. I’ve had my two tone for like 16 years and put it through just about everything you can imagine in the ocean and never had an issue or a need to have it repaired. The one seiko automotive dive watch I owned barely lasted me a year out in the water 😂 go figure..

Is there any other brand that caters for so many tastes and styles, at such an accessible price point. I think not. Invicta started me on my sub watch collecting journey. Each to their own but I'm very fond of the brand.

I'm looking at this because I'm interested in following the disassembly of the st36. At 3:25 you start removing the hairspring assembly and then at 3:55 you continue with a smaller piece. On that second piece, you don't identify that part. My question: is it important to know the identification of each and every part to disassemble the movement? I wanted to know what it's called, but it ocurred to me that it might not be necessary. Thanks.

the most people who don't like Invicta are the ones who spent way too much money for a Rolex, Invicta will still be in business when Rolex folds, why? because of the price

Just bought an unpolished 7019 with Arabic datewheel that needs a service. Looks like the 7019 is basically the same 7009 but with 21 jewels. Any benefit to having 21 jewels instead of 17? Does it enhance longevity? Great video btw!
@jsgwatches

Sounds like a good purchase! The jewels in a watch just reduce friction, making the watch more accurate in different positions (face up/face down etc.) hence the more jewels, the lower the internal friction, the better time keeping 🤌

I bought my first Invicta Pro Diver over 20 years ago, before they switched over to the NH35A movement. The older movement did not have a hack feature, and the bracelet did indeed fall off my wrist when the pins slipped out. Nevertheless, that watch ran great until just a couple of months ago. When they came out with the NH35A movement I added several more ProDivers to my collection. I will not compare them to my Omega watches, it wouldn't be fair, but I will say that with a timegrapher and patience I got most of my ProDivers down to a beat error of 0.2 milliseconds or less, and depending on the position, about +2 seconds per day. I think that if these movements had a swans neck, one could regulate them much more easily and quickly, but if you are patient, you can get there. I like each one of these watches MUCH better than the <$100 I had to pay for them. I myself (one of those with an engineering degree) tend to be fussy about timekeeping and timepieces, so I use the hacking feature a LOT, and use a radio controlled clock as a reference. Everyone needs hobbies, right? 😁
