My channel is all about the love of using my Toyota 4runner to explore the lovely outdoors. I will have videos about fishing, camping, trails/offroading, 4runner mods/repairs, family fun and anything else that the 4runner has allowed me to enjoy.
I don’t but I just ran a wire straight back there from the battery. Use the access hole under driver foot well, pass along back of radio via carpet, then along the door trim. Just the power wire. Ground can use something metal in back.
I’ve got an ‘05 with 167k on it. I purchased a year ago and don’t know the last time it was changed. I’ve noticed lately getting out of park can feel a little tough at times, like when parked on an incline. Hopefully a drain and fill with new fluid will help. Thank you for the video!
Ok, so no kidding? I don't have to undo 10 of the 3/8 bolts, find a new gasket, reinstall, tighten those 10 bolts in criss-cross pattern to spec? It really is this ez?? Shoulda given up on Jeeps a loooong time ago.
@@PhoRunner would you mind doing video on fixing the IAC? There's others out there, but your videos are so straightforward it makes the project so much easier.
@SimpleBelieverInChrist It’s too hot in my garage to film (90-100F). But just take it apart and carb cleaner. The hoses can be a painnn to reach to get it back on
Call Marlin Crawler before ordering the bearing kit. I ordered online and it took 4 days for them to tell me they have zero in stock. 1AAuto has the bearing and seals but the kit doesn't have the c-clip or o-ring. Great video. I appreciate Timmy's longer version but this is great as a review of the steps
Hello, I recently purchased a 98 4runner and I have watched a lot of of your videos. Wanted to know if there is anything that can be done about the radio location. Like you said on this video, it's too low to look at while driving. Is it possible to bring it up a little bit higher?
I live in Washington where it gets to -20F and the hottest it gets in the summer is 109F. I’m unsure if I should bypass the radiator or not? I’m not towing but I do travel a lot and go up steep inclines for long periods of time. Any suggestions?
Great video help out a lot! Just installed the Atoto S8 but I have a question, is anyone dealing with the antenna going up as soon as the accessories is on and it won’t go back down even when on BT option or even when the unit is manually turned off/rest mode? Please help! Thanks
Is your antenna going out? I have another video on it. The Atoto will extend the antenna when unit is on even if not used. But once off, should retract if things are working properly.
I’m on my 4th cam belt, tensioner, water pump, and valve adjustment on my 00 Civic Si EM1. I use the special 19mm extra heavy duty socket, and a Worx Nitro 20V 1400ft/lb impact gun, and the crank bolt loosens no problem at all. It also helps to spray WD40 around the head of the crank bolt, and let it soak in for an hour prior to putting the impact gun on it.
How do you feel about running the Trd wheels with 285s? I’ve been told that I can’t run a 7” wheel . Are you running a spacer ? I’m trying to run this set up with a 285/70/17 . I just unsure how to get the wheels to fit correctly.
A word about Craftsman Tools, I bought a set when I was sixteen years old and still use them today. Over the years I have replaced 1 broken ratchet (FREE) and 3 or 4 screwdrivers (abused by me and again for FREE). These tools got used and abused and are still going strong after over 54 years!!!
@@PhoRunner I snapped the longest stud on my actuator and I’m hesitant to force it without completely understanding how it comes together. Is it safe to use heat on these components?
@@jlaaj Here's a photo of what it looks like inside. Just a gear so snapping the long bolt should be fine since it will slide off still. www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/284551-i-bought-new-aisin-elocker-actuator.html
@@PhoRunner I have since successfully pulled the actuator. Can you confirm which way the actuator has to be positioned? Driver or passenger side? I Did the opposite of what it was but the diff is hinge on something up top on something and I don’t want to reef on it too hard without knowing for sure. I suspect one of the multiple snapped studs is corroded and sticking. I have the axle shafts slide out as far as the brake lines will let me but that could also be a factor. Thank you for your time
@jlaaj if memory serves, towards the driver side when looking at it from the front (since that’s how you can see the gears). Do a quick search on Google as it’s a common thing people do
I have a 2004 4runner. Replaced the fuel sending unit. Still not reading accurately. When I fill it up all the way the needle passes the F mark by about a quarter. What can I do about that?
Just A Warning! I Replaced My Fluid when I did A New Transmission Gasket + Filter Just For It To Start Slipping... I Had To Put in Lucas Oil Transmission Fix Stops Slips. Its Working But For How Long...
Thanks for making these videos! If you were to drain the fluid & saw metal shavings in there, would that mean its too late to add new fluid and you should just put the old fluid back?
Hmm the magnets are in the pan so you shouldn’t see too many shavings unless you tore that apart. On a single drain and fill, only half the fluid comes out so you can add new fluid in and see how it goes. Save the old fluid if you’re paranoid! I suspect mixing half old and half new will be fine.
Thank you so much! I was about to take my MDX to the shop but found your video. My AC relay was also made in Vietnam and swapping it with fog lights fixed it. You saved me big $$ and from an angry wife while we are driving on vacation. Thanks!!!
