The most recent iteration of the rulebook and a ruling quoted from Caleb states attachments and side schemes are fair game for calling in actions. Any encounter card outside of obligations are fair game it seems.
I personally like Indomitable as a safety net. I will throw a few in for x-23 protection deck for the few times that I negate all damage and I'm not able to ready.
How do you feel about “Bad manners Kick course” instead of guard point? I seen this list but that was the card choice. Do you think the extra card cost is too much compared to the leaving up one Don?
I think that’s a fair trade. Personally I’d rather preserve the card. I’m already discarding for first fist often and don’t want to drain myself of resources but if you find yourself never able to keep a resource up then it’s probably worth a swap.
Correct. You’ll want to get that ally in play after the first Call For Aid then never chump them. Might be worth including a first aid or something to keep them useful.
Transformers was a fun TCG. I really liked the flipping mechanics. It's used in a similar way in the current Deck Building TF game by Renegade and I love it.
Great advice here: Target Acquired is by far the best card to pack against Mutagen Formula. I would add that Defiance is another very valuable card here for the same reason.
I think this idea of your personal fun zone is interesting as it’s so different from how I think about it. To me the quality of a villain mechanic has so little to do with how complex that mechanic is. Mojo and Loki are great examples. I find Mojo’s design unique and well thought out. It has many components, but they work together very well. Loki’s pieces are a mess. His side schemes could be good, his version swaps could be good. Then you add the infinity gauntlet and you have 3 pieces that all feel half baked.
Good catch. I think my brain made Into The Fray into the same card as Relentless Assault (or anything else that does overkill damage). I was more occupied with reading my War Machine cards that weren't loading to actually read my cards that WERE loading.
Theme is everything in this game. I purposely build for flavor and play into those strategies. As for teams I love the spider verse. Web warrior that’s more because protection is king. And that tribe really makes it shine. Thanks for some great discussion
I think the Spider-tingle and Thwip! Thwip! damage might accelerate your use of Web of Life and Destiny. Want to damage an ally who will then use power with two consequentials and trade her for a card? Or maybe you are close to the end of a deck and want to cycle some allies. Or you might outright kill it so you can call it back by Across the Spiderverse.
I sat this one out. That was just a little too much overhead with the extra rules to keep track of. Honestly, not a big fan of house rules and much prefer it when you guys just give us interesting new combos to try out under RAW. But even though this was not my cup of tea, thanks for doing this.
Great video. I'm really enjoying the MCM Organised Play challenges. Keep 'em coming ! The minions proved to be far more of a challenge than I'd assumed they would be. I played Storm, a pretty strong hero, and it was a great match up.
At 13:10 you use Ant-Man to make a basic attack and knockout Toad. You then play Resize and ready Ant-Man as you're changing your form then at 14:10 you use him to make a basic thwart. I'm sorry but I expected more from this podcast. I am very disappointed. ... I expected Ant-Man to go infinite with Resize and kill Klaw with 1 damage from flipping. That's the more that I expected. ;)
I've been only playing and building aggression decks the past 3 days, essentially mastered the art of building decks for the aspect super excited to test out my experience on this event just see how fast I get melted or melt the villain
This is very cool. Thanks for doing this, and thanks to your local store. Saw this on Discord and played it first before coming here - we had fun doing this in 2-player as Hawkeye and Storm. Really enjoyable watching Ant-Man in Justice! Still one of my favourite heroes.
Thanks for doing this online OP event. It'll be nice to just have a chance to get something from the OP kits since no one in my area got them. I got my game set up right next to me and I'll be playing thru tonight.
