FizFop1 is a channel dedicated to GOLDEN AGE SUPERHEROES from COMIC BOOKS and PULP MAGAZINES. Although the channel mostly covers obscure superheroes a lot of information about more popular characters like Batman, Superman, Captain America, and Wonder Woman do appear in the videos.
13:00 When The Comic Code Authority (CCA) Came in 1954 They Banned 🚫 Horror Like Vampires Ghouls and Zombies Because They Are Big No Nos but They Kept Superheroes And They Becoming Popular Today Like Superman Batman/Robin,Batgirl Spiderman Ironman Hulk Wonder Woman The Flash Aquaman Black Panther Wolverine and Captain America Also The Superteams Like Justice Society of America Justice League Teen Titans The Avengers Fantastic Four & X-Men. Vampires Marvel Zombies and Especially Batman Who's Laugh Comics & Justice League Dark Apokoplis War Animated Movie.??? Oh Also Just Imagine If They Heard They Making Darker Comics of Today Like They Turned Batman & Superman Wonder Woman Especially The Joker Into Serial killers and Become Evil.
I would argue characters like the Green Hornet are universal, especially when kids get over preconceptions about older stories. I grew up in the 80s and early 90s loving Zorro, the Lone Ranger (we didn't get the Green Hornet shown much in the UK), Charlie Chan and a whole bunch of other "repeats" from the 1930s - 1970s, and I remember loving those as much if not more so than the contemporary programming. By 16 I was hooked on Peter Lorre's Mr Moto series. I sat my kids down with It's A Wonderful Life at Christmas, they thought it was one of the best things they'd ever seen. They also like the original A-Team better than the more recent movie, prefer OG Transformers, and they're begging me to watch the Godfather and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, which were all made before I was born. Good stories are good, it's getting them into the market that's the problem, and adapting them for a "modern audience" poisons the well for the original.
I never really got into Gold Key as a kid since most covers were painted and looked weird to me at the time. I do remember reading Robot Fighter and a few MARS Patrol. Same reason I never got into E-Man, the weird covers, not like the regular type covers.
Wits end was dedicated to the proposition that naked words drift lovelier when surrounded by either a solid idea or a sexy picture. He also stated the 3 laws of drawing: never draw what you can copy, never copy when you can trace, and never trace what you can cut out and paste up. To which l add never do what you can delegate to a subordinate.
There's a lot of characters that DC hasn't used as far as I know. As to who owns them? I don't know. I've seen a number of publishers reprint Dr. Graves and their western character Gun Master. I don't know if DC claims Fighting Five, Sarge Steel, or any of their horror characters like Baroness von Blood?
Back in the far out 70s my college roommate got in trouble for putting up a Wood underground poster on our dorm wall. The poster was an obscene illustration of the Big Mouse Land. Think of a literal drawing of "...my Prince will come...". I didn't know it was Wood at the time. I have seen reprints of Sally Forth. Since I grew up with Mad Magazine, I am sure I saw his work there. "Realistic" cartoons. Thanks for the video.
Two Face could have been their swipe of the Dick Tracy character called Half n Half or Haf n Haf, not sure of the spelling. And Dr. Mid-Nite's origin was almost the same as the Black Bat.
One of the things that stuck to me about Ted Kord/Blue Beetle was the strap to his cowl could only be released by the electronic "key" in the index finger of his glove. That prevented crooks from removing his cowl to find out who he was if they ever knocked him out. No other hero I know about had something like that. Batman sure didn't!
Thanks @jaredgarcia8636! I put a lot of research into these videos. I do check with Wiki...but I go deeper. Wiki is wrong sometimes...or it does have the deep dive info I'm looking for. There's a few times when I get things wrong. It happens...when it does happen, the comment sections go nuts.
devil slayer was fun in marvel. he's not in much but he's in stories that have all marvel characters and he's in the Official handbook of the Marvel universe here and there. he shows up Post Civil War too.
we were aware of him as kids. they never had Charlton heroes on the newsstand as a kid but i knew who Beetle and Captain Atom were before Crisis. Crisis #1 and #4 are a great showcase of the Earth 4 characters, including Peter Cannon Thunderbolt!
Hi Buckey749! Thanks for watching. I haven't done a Green Mask video yet...but I'm currently trying to clean up a video for Fox Features that published him. The Green Mask is mentioned...but he doesn't get the attention of some of the other Fox Features characters.
Fam, you COMPLETELY passed over Charlston Comic's history as a mafia front! That was the real reason they kept the presses running; to cover the $$ they were making under the table!
I'll never forgive Gold Key for their butchered adaptions of "Battle of the Planets" & "Pink Panther", but I can't deny that I was intrigued by Dr. Solar. I'd first read him at age 12, just after I'd learned about the Electromagnetic Spectrum.
Late to the party, but just wanted to thank you for this fascinating video. Being a Chinese American artist myself it was inspiring to find out about these comics and Chu Fook Hing. It mirrors some of the struggles my parents had to endure when they came to this country, and it makes me really appreciate the courage they had. I wouldn’t have the life I have had it not been for people like Chu. Great work, on this and all your videos!
Thank You @drawcomics! Glad you found the video inspiring. You can find the full stories at the digitalcomicslibrary and comicbookpluswebsites. It's really inspiring to see Chu's art. It's beautiful and way ahead of its time.

I wonder because the AI needs a bank of references to draw from to design, I noticed the first dozen I asked for using the prompt super villain I kept gtting variations on Dr Doom
