I just ran across your video of the $1 house and bing watched them all, now I have to wait for the next one to come out. I am 61 yrs old and remember when I had that much energy. I've fixed up a few houses over the yrs, and 25 yrs ago my husband and I built a new house. At this age, I wouldn't want to start over, but am enjoying your journey. Don't get me wrong, we've built several out buildings for goats, chickens, and greenhouse and I still work full time. I'm looking forward to retiring so I have time to work on projects.

I hope your house from 1920 is better than my grandpa’s house from 1920 was. Unfortunately we ended up bulldozing the whole thing to the ground as it was just cheaper starting from scratch than trying to rebuild it. I’ll say we’re in California and things might be much different where you are as far as rebuilding a house to code. California sucks. After 5 years or red tape we just sold the land as it was worth way more for agriculture than it was as a property for a home. But it is sad to see a new orchard instead of my grandpas old house and the rest of his 20 acres. Glad you are saving this one. I hope it works out for you!!!

Sad the new generation doesn't appreciate stuff well built. The "old" windows are more sturdy and better made than the new windows.

Tia, a suggestion for the bathroom windows, put a cling covering on the glass. It will allow the light to come through but give privacy.

It gets really cold in ND. My only concern about leaving the plaster on outside walls is the insulation between it and the siding. You saw how a lot of that blown in insulation was down almost to the bottom third of the wall height from settling over the years. Maybe pull off on the outside and make sure it's insulated well.

10:45 HVAC guy did what he was supposed to venting the off gas through a sleeve all the way out the top of the chimney. Those old chimneys have cracks and voids that can leak dangerous CO2 inside the house.

And i have had new tongue and groove pine boards put up on my kitchen ceiling.

You have decent walls,my house has been getting some renovating for 7 years now. It has taken a lot of time and money to get some of the walls redone at my house.
