I want to give money to Wikipedia so that it could go on and on in future and everyone can get reliable unbiased knowledge. But what I'm afraid of is why Wikipedia asks a lot of personal data for donation??
I donated 3 bucks a couple times recently just because I use it daily😂 I feel like I owe them for the no ads and no email needed etc. I want wiki to be around forever! I love reading about random things I think of or find and statistics😍😍 definitely my most used website
Open access is just another scam. Article processing charge is more than 3000 dollars per paper. I propose we all upload our papers with copyrights reserved, but universities demand titles that require publishing on paid journals and their indexes... I will personally refuse to give my papers to those publishers, at least after I get some titles and a stable job. Fuck their prestige, it is dumb as fuck, and we scientists are supposed to be the smart ones.
@@Chuso_Skever Here we go with the Subjectivism. *Yawn*..I know..I know, there are no Uinversal Truths in your silly pseudo-intellectual contrarian world. Go play with yourself to Anne Ramsey (the old lady in The Goonies & Throw Mama from the Train) if you "Truly" believe that there is no objective metric for beauty (or lack there of).
The self-run model should be the norm going forward. Editorial boards need to quit more, as has happened in a couple of prominent cases (most recently, Neuroimage springs to mind). And prominent leaders in the field must acknowledge this issue more directly and accept alternative publishing venues. There are some journals in individual fields or groups of fields that have started to revolutionize the publishing machine somewhat and I hope this is the direction we'll go in in the future. I'll also happily pay or get funding for a small processing fee (500-ish dollars) to a more independent journal that doesn't use a publishing house middle man. It's time we realize that the work going into new journals that are helmed by some influential people in our field mean the same amount of work for us as authors and peer reviewers or guest editors, yet nobody profits and extorts the community for access to them! Now, hiring committees need to get with the program as do applicants and we all need to stop printing silly metrics like impact factors next to our publications. As if that's any sort of indication of quality.
All the Swarovski jewelry I’ve bought over the years have tarnished, just sitting in my drawer and taking up space :( I have no idea what to do with them,
Sadly store coupons are not as common nowadays. A lot of coupon distributors (both manufacturers and stores) now use digital rebates which usually limit the number of items and have a cashout minimum (meaning you have to purchase more items to get your money back). Another thing about the Extreme Couponing show - I've spotted several videos where couponers are shown "stacking" different manufacturer coupons which should NEVER happen. The show does depict real life scenarios to some extent but it's staged asf.
I noticed they seem to be dying when it comes to ads and social media presence. I wanted a necklace but couldn’t find much on it. Not very global power house of them..
I said before I say again if you want this brand to grow do lab grown diamonds if you want to track customers pay your workers a high enough salary, give them health benefits give them a pension and give them a 15 minute break and 30 minute break don’t make them work overtime because they probably have a family to or they’re probably try and go back to college or something and lower the cost of the jewelry pieces when you sell them make sure that they’re not breakable and make sure they’re pure metal and have your employees test out the jewelry where first so that if there are any kinks or discoloration they let you know and you guys get together and figure out how to fix it. That’s my advice and if somebody has disabilities, accommodate to them. Keep the brown inside the USA and not all over the world because otherwise you’re gonna have more lawsuits on your hands
Yesterday I sold a guy a tall boy beer, it costs $2.48. He realized he needed water so he grabbed one. The bottle water was $3.98. Both 12 ounces. $1.50 more than beer! When a necessity for life is outrageously expensive and sold as a commodity we are in dire trouble!! Water shouldn't be owned by anyone as WATER IS LIFE.
Yes, and do not forget that Open Access costs between 2500$ and 9500$ because the essential point: if scientists do not publish from our PhDs then we do not get hired as postdocs, if we do not publish our postdoc work then we do not get fellowships, if we do not publish our fellowships then we cannot hope for stable jobs in research... and so on and so forth continues, until we retire. This system is driven by ambition, pride and jealousy. It is a sick and twisted machine.
"Adds are biased content" - Yeah because wiki is not bias at all 🤣. At this point you might as well donate to the American Democrat party if you want to donate to Wiki.
Whatever I do and always will they helps me I will help them. I don't donate to church, temples or beggar but they give the most expensive things (Knowledge) for free so I don't care if it's just for scam.
For Science, Mathematics and IT and some general knowledge devoid of ridiculous politics, consider HandWiki. It's like Wikipedia but better. HandWiki's editors have to have credentials.
Because wikipedia will literally give you everything you would've needed for your assignment. Teachers didnt want you to finish your assigning in an hour now did they? If you used wikipedia you would've gotten everything you needed and probably more information than what you would've gotten from other websites so no, every middle school and high school teacher simply wanted you to work harder than to finish their assignments on wikipedia in a little while.
Yeah their message feels like they are begging me to give them money for food or surgery and that else they would die without me. Anyways they are good convincing me.
I hope it ends, too much rubbish lies. What's the terms? Misinformation Disinformation. I got a ban for trying to correct wrong info, but they went nuts. So go away now, you are not fit for purpose.
Never. I did once, but got so fed up of Wikipedia people within articles thinking that they are some kind of Gods and removing edits or additions only to their liking. No thanks, why should I donate to THAT?? Far better ways to find information than on Wikipedia anyway. They won't be missed.
If I donate and log in to Wikipedia, will the banners go away? I have donated but I haven't ever registered. The banners are driving me crazy. I think banners are a double edged sword. It may help with donations, but it also chases people away.
Once they decided to stop selling the flat back crystals to the general public making that ridiculous statement that they don’t want their crystals on 5 dollar shirts I pretty much forgot they exsited
I use it too much and I'm well enough off, that maybe someone else can use it too. I'd hate to see the day this true encyclopaedia that's updated daily is lost to everyday folk.
I have a LOT of jewelry set with Swarovski ZIRCONIA. The stones will knock your eyes out. My pieces are all set in sterling silver, but the stones are SO wonderful, they are worthy of gold settings. They look way better than most diamonds, i swear!
