66 yr. old shadetree here. Took my 64 Falcon with the 65 - 200 inline oit myself ( super easy ) and took it down to a motor rebuilder with 40 years experience. Completely rebuilt head with 1.5 & 1.75 valves with 302 springs. Oil & fuel pump, new clutch assembly, cam bearings, 274/274 vintage Inlines cam, flat head pistons +.30 over. 7 main bearing set & connevting rods, double roller timing chain. DUI distributor with Live wites, Weber 1v/2v carb, clay smith lifters, stainless steel 6 into 2 header. ARP bolts throughput. Took .100 off of head for more compression. Put it all back together according to the Ford Inl8ne six Performance manual minus thr out of stock aluminum head of course. Put it all together and it runs great but still no real horsepower upgrade. Not sure why....its a three on the tree Falcon and i tjought it would be considerably stronger. I didn't want to cookie cut it with a 302. Maybe i was wrong.
Anyone else ever notice that all the guitar licks are knockoffs of 80s heavy metal ? 2:16:00 is a knockoff of Sabbath's Paranoid if I'm not mistaken , the music guy has done that on all the power Nation shows over the years I find it fun trying to figure out which song he used as I watch ! THANKS guys for all the fun over the years I love all the old shows except wasn't too into the 3 females but they were ok .# respectfully
The reason people think these engines are junk is the blocks they are not a 307 Chevy and what they did was they lightened everything up and cheapened everything up. Not too many people would put the care in the engine that you did setting it up and re-balancing it and everything else. If you’re going to rebuild it right like that they might hold up for a street ride. I guess it depends how high you’re going to wind it but I definitely don’t believe I would be winding it up like a high-quality four bolt main 350 block.
imagine having the cleanest shop.. The newest and most expensive tools.. And a shop you can even afford a single payment on.. And you would have this place
R.I.P. Joe Elmore through HOT ROD TV and then Horsepower TV shows I truly got hooked into SBC's and BBC's every Saturday morning since the mid 90's. From TNN to Spike to Motor Trend, speed channel, velocity and any other channels that its played on now. I always loved watching. No matter how many host they changed i still had to watch every Saturday.
That so much looks like a General Motors Holden Australia 130, 138, 149, 161, 173, 179 , 186 and 202ci sixes produced in Australia from the 1960s to 1980s .
When are going to bring back the engine mods series we really would love to see the 4.7 powertech it has a bed plate for the crank that is stronger than the 5.7 hemi so i wonder how much potential it got unfortunately there isnt much aftermarket support
A guy showed up to our local car show with a 225 slant six in a 1971 Duster. The guy belonged to a 6 = 8 drag racing club. This 225 turned out 350 HP at the crank. Balanced internals, high compression, a 4bbl on a racing intake, 6 into 2 header, and a hot cam.
