Otherwise seni replace mine for no other reason except i could and ive never had and issue though the trigger was rine except for some left to right wabble i bought and apex competition trigger with the screw that control the rear travel and reset and it feels great i also got the + 5 mag extensionns look a little silly over the flush fit but the latger yield keeps you going if your on a good run.
Thanks he vifor the video! How did u make out with the Lakeline guide rod? My TX22 was flawless but after adding an optic I am having FTEs. I'm hoping a new guide rod will remedy this issue and trying to determine which one is the best option...
Hi Mike! My TX22 was flawless but after adding an optic I am having FTEs. I see Galloway has a guide rod that has a 10% redcuced spring weight. Is that what you are running? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
Lakeline and galloway are both good galloway supposedly is better for shooting supressed from what I've heard and it requires less power to work the action. I dont have a supressor though so someone else would have to be the one confirming that.
Interesting you mention recoil since a lot of guys poo poo away recoil with the .22 Some puff out their chests and distinctly say it has " No recoil " .... Yes of course there is recoil but it's much more friendly to the user. It's why some guys shoot lights out with a .22 and are over the place with 9mm and up calipers.. I keep chuckling when I hear " No recoil " disregarding the laws of physics..
How low did you leave it in b4 you took it out bc of all the metal shavings. I found metal shavings thru out the gun after 40ish rds. Found the shavings was coming from the spring . As you could see the flat spors on the inside of the coils. Plus i got tired of the extremely loud slide after installing the stainless god rod.
Im having feeding issues with the TX22 SCR using various ammo. The ammo is jamming and getting bent. Do you have any info on the spring weight specs between the 3? OEM vs, Tand vs Lakeline?
I checked on both websites and they both state that the recoil spring assembly are not compatible for the TX22 SCR. So, those recoil spring assemblies wouldn’t be a solution. I would check the magazines. One review stated that they were having feeding issues as you described and they applied pressure to the bottom of the magazine while shooting and that fixed the issue temporarily. Maybe try that. Also polishing the feed ramp. www.taurusarmed.net/threads/situation-tx22-regularly-fails-to-feed-does-not-go-into-battery-tried-fixes-w-zero-success.445417/
Had the same problem with mine. Took about 800 rounds to break in. Then, it was like a switch went off and the failures just stopped. I use it in competitions sometimes two to three times a week and the thing is incredibly reliable. The only failures I ever have are due to the occasional dud. I shoot federal blue box 36g and they run clean as hell. Keep shooting!
@@baxrok2. Really. Cause all of a sudden my failures just stopped. Like 2 weeks ago. It was weird for sure. I think it was the magazine springs causing the issue.
Very interesting modification, thank you. I had to fast forward when Donald Duck was talking! LOL!! Don't try and explain anything when fast forwarding your video, just FYI.
Start at the 3 minute mark. I go over how I fixed a magazine issue like you are having. Hopefully this helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yg1kTGSgt5c.htmlsi=oofq1TXo4w0Zlx2r
I've tried everything I've seen on RU-vid, and I have a few of these TK extended mags, and mine still has issues pushing the 2nd rd into the chamber. I've cleaned em, I've lubed em, tried dry lube, my TX22 is a fun range toy, but it's fairly unreliable.
Man i really wish there was a magazine redesign so that you can still use the little lever for easy loading. Only reason I'm not getting one is because you have to go without the easy loading lever.
Cleaning and lightly oil the magazines after shooting makes this gun fun! I love it better than my G44. Have about 3000 rounds thru my TX but it's stock. G44 seems to be ammo fussy, unlike the G27
Did another modification to my 16 Round magazines today. My magazines are stamped with a #5 on the side. Two years ago with my first Taurus TX-22, I had magazines stamped #1&2. Had same jamming issues and never solved jamming with those two. I don't know what the numbers are but they could be edition series numbers. So I dissembled my first #5 magazine and shortened the bottom end of the coiled spring buy 3 loops..about 1 inch. My thoughts were the spring is currently too strong and feeding the round into the feeding area too fast. Reassembled the same modified magazine and loaded it with 16 rounds of CCI mini-mag. Tested it. It works flawlessly! Modified the other mag the same way. Tested it. It works flawlessly! Something else to consider...I'm happy with this mod.
Does this guide rod prevent the now common problem the Taurus TX22's are having with the slides cracking? The thin and brittle slide is the one issue that has kept me from purchasing one of these guns.
