Did another modification to my 16 Round magazines today. My magazines are stamped with a #5 on the side. Two years ago with my first Taurus TX-22, I had magazines stamped #1&2. Had same jamming issues and never solved jamming with those two. I don't know what the numbers are but they could be edition series numbers. So I dissembled my first #5 magazine and shortened the bottom end of the coiled spring buy 3 loops..about 1 inch. My thoughts were the spring is currently too strong and feeding the round into the feeding area too fast. Reassembled the same modified magazine and loaded it with 16 rounds of CCI mini-mag. Tested it. It works flawlessly! Modified the other mag the same way. Tested it. It works flawlessly! Something else to consider...I'm happy with this mod.
I love my 21 round TK modified magazines....I have 4 of them and never once did I have a non feed after several thousands of rounds of ammo. I also shoot suppressor rounds and the 10% less stiff spring from Galloway Precision allows the gun to feed so nice. Clean those magazines and use Lucas Slick Mist to allow friction free bullet movement in the magazine. It really does work great!
@@christhompson1811 you would have to alter or cut your spring to the appropriate length. A little risky but not too bad if you have a pretty precise micrometer
Very interesting modification, thank you. I had to fast forward when Donald Duck was talking! LOL!! Don't try and explain anything when fast forwarding your video, just FYI.
Start at the 3 minute mark. I go over how I fixed a magazine issue like you are having. Hopefully this helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yg1kTGSgt5c.htmlsi=oofq1TXo4w0Zlx2r
I've tried everything I've seen on RU-vid, and I have a few of these TK extended mags, and mine still has issues pushing the 2nd rd into the chamber. I've cleaned em, I've lubed em, tried dry lube, my TX22 is a fun range toy, but it's fairly unreliable.
Hahaha, quite Micky Mousing around,. My'n holds 16 or 17 stock I've never had a single problem with the mag's my guns club has them so a bought more , it's nice having 6 loaded up for the range, but I usually take other guns to shoot as well ,. It's been a great gun not one single problem, I've only run CCI mags copper coated ammo 1235 so cycling is perfect, I think led can fowl the barrel easier, gets in the groves causing wild groups or key holing.
