The Rat talisman power is also known as Animation is a reference to rats carrying food in cartoons where it looks like the food is alive (and the noble rat is named Mickey)
I swear to God I bump that acoustic version like no other I wish that they had the hard rock version but it's still so beautiful I just didn't know that the episode actually existed it just wasn't in America apparently
The visuals alone make Stoked so special. You can tell they really put a lot of thought into the color choices to make it all feel like a dream summer. Beautiful skies, sunsets, the color palette for the dorm, it all helps it feel unique instead of yet another cartoon about teens during the summer.
I actually never heard of 6teen, I always just watched Stoked (probably because it was more kids friendly and eligible to pass in my country, it passed on another channel I didn’t watched like that and had already stopped airing when I was like 7). It was a fun show and had me wanting a job at an hotel.
I would put more of the blame on 'Clueless' for 'Totally Spies' overall vibe more so than 'Charlie's Angels'. Had 'Totally Spied' relied less oh the whole 'valley girl' esthetic, and hadn't been so over the top, it probably would've been more tolerable to watch for me. 'Kim Possible', by comparison, is less cringey, and over the top than 'Totally Spies', but it was also sandwiched with all the other girl targeted shows airing on Disney Channel that I wouldn't touch with A 10 foot pole.
I can argue that while the cookie episode did have kind of weird imagery, I’m not surprised that a girly girl spy show had an episode about self-image that would be about weight gain, as that is what a typical girl/woman would be most worried about. And thus, that would be what a villain in a spy show would want to take advantage of. Nor is it a surprise that food would be the cause. But I get what you mean.
I grew up watching that show as a kid to a teen. And honestly I didn't noticed things because I didn't care to notice. I am a 90's kid through and through, alot of the things back then were real and were yeah, out there and showing some "inappropriate" things back then but it was fun, it was nice, and if people are getting their pants in a knot about it now, then they really don't get how real life works. you can't censor everything just because "children are watching". Like yeah, sure, I understand childhood innocence and all but my generation literally found beating the crap out of each other as a form of entertainment. I know people will always have something to complain about, especially in this day and age... but nothing in totally spies were as bad than what you can find in shows on Adult Swim or shows made to be inappropriate for humor.
I wanna say, anyone who says the show was inappropriate for kids and highly adult is looking for dirty stuff. But watching some episodes I can see where some more critical viewers look at certain scenes and could be mistaken as adult. But as a kid I didn’t find anything wrong with it. While I can see where some viewers find stuff inappropriate I still stand by my position that Totally spies is a fun child friendly tv series that is uplifting for girls.
you cover the perfect amount of content for each show you review. dewfinitely one of my preffered youtubers for episode break downs of shows!!! keep it up dude :D
this series touches on many themes of contemporary japanese society, which you don't know anything about, judging from your very shallow analysis. shikabane, the purple skunk, represents the disillusioned japanese youth.
I think has a mix of people overthinking and and the new gen not knowing about cartoon gags*, most of Totally Spies is just cartoon gags, yeah the show has some are weird moments but every cartoon has them. And even the weird ones is many times just overthinking like you showed them crawling from the ice like the butt shot, no lie was a bit weird but they made it super flat so I don't think was mean to be seem as hot. *Just put new generation on blast because I have seem too many times and on different platforms many of them calling old cartoons like Looney Tunes/Tom and Jerry as fetish fuel...
Emma and Lo Were The 2 Female Characters I was thirsty for the most for obvious reasons but I liked watching this cartoon animated women from Canadian Cartoons are my Kryptonite like Sam Goldman From The Dating Guy I saw recently
Importantly to know, there have been few foreshadowing hints throughout the show about Lumpus’s being a lunatic. • Although the real scoutmaster said that he was locked in the closet all summer, Lumpus was said throughout the series to have been a scoutmaster for years and to have inherited the title from his relatives, though Lumpus could have lied given the fact that he is a lunatic. • In "The Big Cheese", a police officer describes Scoutmaster Lumpus, who's driven off in Commander Hoo-Ha's jeep, as "A bloated escapee from some asylum". The final episode reveals that Lumpus is indeed a crazy escapee who imprisoned the real Scoutmaster and has been living his life since then. • In “Tomato Paste”, Edward the Platypus earns enough badges to graduate from Camp Kidney to Tomato Camp, but after watching images of the Tomato Camp, he decides that he does not want to go. Edward then eventually confesses that all badges he has are fake: he had ordered them from a costume shop because he wanted to impress the other scouts. Lumpus somehow responded, “Uh, you’re not the only one. HOW DO YOU THINK I GOT THIS JOB?!?!” Edward asked Lumpus if his life is a complete lie also but Lumpus quickly changes the subject. • He never pays Slinkman, which was heard in “Prickly Pining Dining” and coincidentally, when Chef McMuscli fell ill, the entire camp goes to the nearby town of Prickly Pines for a meal, but Lumpus decides to leave without paying. Since Lumpus is an escaped mental patient, he does not carry any cash in his pockets. As punishment for not paying all the meals at Beef Lumberjacks, the manager of the restaurant sentenced him to be a mounted wall moose head. • Lumpus has a fear of getting into trouble with the authorities or anyone he crosses paths with. He is highly scared of Commander Hoo-Ha. For example in “Where’s Lazlo” special, when Lazlo disappeared, the entire camp is shocked. Lumpus trying to come to grips with Lazlo's disappearance, but only due to Lumpus' fear of Commander Hoo-Ha, not over any real concern for the missing scouts; e.g. pulling all phone cords so Slinkman would not contact Commander Hoo-Ha even forcing Samson to eat a banana while trying to act like Lazlo. • How did Lumpus behave as a scoutmaster after robbing the real scoutmaster’s position? Well, Scoutmaster Lumpus has nicknamed the Iron Moose for his tough, disciplinary command even though he was pretending to be someone else. Camp Kidney used to be a more dictatorial camp, where everyone obeys the rules so that Lumpus can keep a spotless record in the camp until Lazlo came. • “The Battle of Pimpleback Mountain” revealed that Slinkman occasionally hits Lumpus with a frying pan when the moose has his ‘episodes’ (backed up by Lumpus going insane during the events of the episode). He displayed mental and emotional immaturity in “Movie Night”, where he became a trembling wreck when seeing a scary movie, but was at ease when watching a children's film. Lumpus's insanity is hinted at in the episode, “The Wig of Why” where he actually thought Lazlo had psychic powers.
Man this show been stuck on my mind for years when i first saw as a kid especially the resort mascot wipeout! This was definitely the best summer time show
Out of the three Fresh TV shows, this is probably the one I know the least about. I probably have seen like 1 or 2 episodes. Honestly it was just kinda there. Maybe it's because I'm not really a surfer (then again, there's not really any waves in Seattle so...) but this show never really appealed to me like Total Drama did. ...I'm not sure what else to say here so... Bacon lasers, I guess.
my favorite was alex 🥰 i loved the show because the plots were always crazy and the different outfits for the main cast were always interesting. i agree with the other comments pointing out that the only reason it's now considered an inappropriate show is because it's all happening to female characters, and that anything can be a fetish because that's simply how human sexuality seems to work. if people want a 'fetish on purpose' show, they should watch the panty and stocking anime.
You brought back a really vague emotion I remember feeling seeing this show aire on Cartoon Network, that euphoria as a kid seeing something that signaled summer vacation had begun. Damn...
Is it weird that as a kid I thought all the shows made by this studio shared the same universe? I dunno, it makes a weird amount of sense with how wacky they are lol
