Japanese schools are different from American schools. Japanese students all stay in one classroom while teachers switch and they also have break time in the classroom so the throwing of earbuds and the worst bullying that has been happened to her was probably done when the teacher was out of the classroom and they were all in their break. ( I hope this clears it up :) )
One thing ive only noticed on a recent re-watch, is that in the last scene in the bathroom, Ueno is the only person aside from Ishida to be shown implicitly understanding Nishimiya. Honestly I think she's just being very tsundere about her character growth.
She lost hearing in one of her ears over time. She had 2 hearing aids as a kid, then you see the doctor office scene, one hearing aid on bed because she doesn't need it anymore and that being backed by Ueno asking why Shoko only has one at 35:58 - It's sneaky af, but the blonde chick (Kawai) baited Shoko into singing in that school scene at 3:52. You can see Shoko looking over to Kawai for a queue (probably discussed beforehand) to start and she straight up fakes singing to get her to come in early. Then she puts on a show acting nice trying to be like, it's okay. She always wants everyone to like her instead of being herself, no glasses and straight hair look later in the movie. The final time we see her, she is back to her glasses and braided hair. So she has had some growth.
Love you two! The HEAT you were both bringing around 3:40 was so amazing and hilarious. Also THANKING YOU again for being able to see things from Simon's POV as well - he is most definitely getting beaten down and having to compromise so much of himself which he is doing because he loves and wants to be with Wille - but it's hard to see.
Thank you for showing love and concern for my sweet baby Simon!! People can be SO hard on him for reasons I don't understand and I just want to protect him from all harm 😇
1:44 "can we get that boy in THERAPE .......damn you had me for a 20 mins...the moment you talk about another person telling you whant you are in THE.....RAPY...therapy.... you lost me, they THE....RAPY... of the mind....
read that fan fic, draco having his hand shook is the cathartic they wanted it to be writing this fan fic, its great its fun... far better than what jk did in plays and other bs
"Isolation, is this prison?" Honestly what I always thought as someone who went to a British Secondary School. I got sent a few times for very stupid reasons (because I'm disabled lol) In real-life they sit you in a room with all the other people deemed as trouble makers and you're forced to sit there in silence either doing work or nothing for hours whilst a teacher is in there doing whatever they do on computers. It's kind of like detention but isolation is until the end of time
Tao's mom is amazing, she knows Elle is trans but no questions just happy and Nick's mom is also amazing and fun fact the actress plays Darcy's homophobic and racist mom, plays in another serie a lesbian 😊 and i feel a little bit sorry for Ben, i mean is sad that Bash is out and Imogen is know a Bi-lly? 😅 and again Charlie's dad is so nice when he looked to Charlie like go look after Nick and Darcy's mom kicked her out, she said get out of my house and i like Nick & Tao conversation like in season 1 and the last song your so pretty is from William Gao (Tao) and his sister
A very bittersweet ending! But at least you only have a couple months to wait for S3. They’ve already released a couple short clips, the first one (the date announcement video) will give you an idea of whether Charlie sent that text. :)
34:38 Shoko was never 100% deaf, which is why she can use hearing aids. At this point, she is essentially being told that she has become completely deaf in her right ear, hence her only wearing 1 aid from that point on. The right ear is also the one Ishida damaged when they were kids. Also, the thing about Ueno in the end is not that she was insulting Nishimiya, it's that she went out of her way to learn sign language to do it.
With Harry, I feel like the dynamic would have been completely different if he had approached Charlie (and Nick) one-on-one and offered a more genuine sounding apology that actually acknowledged how he had hurt him, without expecting to be rewarded for it. Like Sai, Christian, and Otis (who did a lot less harm) earlier in the season. It didn’t come across very sincere when he offered the apology as a way to force his way into Tara’s party after she had said no. Tao and Elle were also owed apologies imo! I don’t think Harry is deeply evil or irredeemable, but I do think ambushing Nick and Charlie publicly like that and ignoring Tara’s wishes earned him a firm “no,” and maybe it’ll make him consider the weight of his actions. I think in S1 he targeted Charlie (and Tao) because he thought it would gain him social clout, and it sort of did. Now that the tide is turning a bit and he’s lost Nick, he trying a different (less cruel, still kind of annoying) approach. Not sure he gets how much damage he did yet. But even if he totally turns things around and becomes the best, most genuine ally ever, that won’t mean he’s owed an invite to hang out with people he bullied in the past. I love your love for Tao, he was my favorite non-Nick/Charlie character this season. So ridiculous and sweet. Charlie’s lowkey confidence is really underrated, I think it’s what makes him so interesting, he contains multitudes!
"Their chemistry is insane" ❤🔥- absolutely, indisputable :)! Like when Wille and Simon are talking in the lake scene, the acting/ lines was improvised which shows how on another level it is (one of many examples).
Wow, you took episode 14 really well. It was a reminder of how violent these characters we’re starting to like can be. Staying neutral about Askeladd was impressive since his actions were as cold as that village's winter. I laughed when you said you're conflicted about liking Askeladd. In ep 13, we learned he wants freedom & peace for his mom's homeland. He secretly hates the Danes, & we’ll find out why by the end. His dad, Olaf, was a Danish warlord, & his mom, Lydia, was a Welsh noblewoman(kind of royalty) descended from the hero Artorius, the basis for the legend of King Arthur. Bjorn is the most loyal, Askeladd is the smartest & Thors is the strongest. The priest was shocked & fascinated hearing about Thors from one of Askeladd's men, a Viking who wouldn’t fight back, saying, 'A true warrior doesn’t need a sword.' Christians see Danish Vikings as monsters. Asser even called King Sweyn the king of demons. Danes are either like Askeladd’s men, who rob & pillage villages & act as mercenaries, or like Floki’s Jomsvikings, expanding the kingdom ruthlessly for King Sweyn. This makes Danes the worst in Vinland’s world. Thors & Thorkell were Jomsviking commanders in the past leading the army alongside Floki.
mmm thanks for clearing a few of the specifics up for me as it relates to Askeladd's family and the views of the Danes from outsiders! yea i'm def conflicted. i was starting to really like Askeladd!!! ...but then he goes and does things like that and i don't know how to handle it 😫😫
Hahaha you just need to keep hating him, hahaha. Just an advice, let the show run and it would explain everything really well even though are doubts there don't let you feel too much stress about it haha, this type of shows goes backwards and forward, the best type of writing. Good luck!
ahhh thanks for this advice 🙏🏻 i just don't know whether i missed information and am dumb or if the show hadn't explained something yet 🤣🤣 hard to tell the difference sometimes
i’ve loved your reactions so much!! and i’ll throw my voice in with the people suggesting to young royals forever doc, it’s very fun and also beautiful, really feels like excellent closure to the show itself, weirdly.
30:17 The challenge wasn’t that Charlie couldn’t kiss nick for 2 days either, it was only that Nick couldn’t kiss Charlie for 2 days. Charlie kissed him, Nick didn’t stop him and happily gave in to reciprocate the kisses, thus losing the challenge.
They are Swedish. Sweden has a very Nordic approach to intimacy and sex. Less talking is normal, all the "consent" in these scenes is done visually. Also Sweden has the second earliest age (in the world) of losing virginity (at age 16), exactly the age depicted here. Privacy is important, but Swedes also have early and comprehensive sex education. They seem to be very chill about it. I follow a few folks on RU-vid that talk about integrating into Sweden as an American.
I am much older than you girls. But like you I was emotionally affected by this story. The two young actors made the show a success, I think. They were splendid! As a Scandinavian I can say that monarchy is a silly anachronism we don't need. And both Wille and Simon felt that too, like most young people here. So Wille's sacrifice was honest and sensible. Love means more than a title.
Guys this was such a fun journey re-experiencing the show with you two! I especially loved your reaction to the finale because I would have been the same way if the ending hadn’t been spoiled for me on Twitter. Before that I was like Hunter and had no idea how it would end. If it had been any other show I would have been 90% sure it was a happy ending but YR also goes more realistic than fairytale so I was fully expecting the possibility of a bittersweet ending. I do want to say because I’m pretty sure I was one of the people who said you guys were being too hard on Simon that I appreciate that you guys took that to heart and tried to be more open to his side of things that was really nice. Also I agree that the second season did a really bad job of showing Simon’s perspective and what he was going through because that season was the big arc for Wille to get him to that speech so most of that season focused on him but I feel like they made up for it in this final season as we really got in depth with how terrible things were for Simon even more than Wilhelm was aware. Overall it was a fantastic show and I couldn’t ask for or imagine a better ending.
NO!! that's horrible that the ending got spoiled for you 😭 that is my worst nightmare 😫 i'm glad you enjoyed the videos! and like we mentioned, thanks for your perspective! we love hearing what others have to say. i agree, the ending was the best ending we could have gotten with the circumstances:) thanks for all the support 😊
@@taketwo_TV nevertheless the manga will help, look into it. you made me luagh at some parts lol, i reccomend watching anohana even though its a TV show, its on nexflix
I loved that you were so invested in the show! I wish that we'd been able to see some more of Wille and Simon being happy, but I was sure they had to end up together. I was devastated the show was over, but I'm always going to love these characters. I wish they could get some sort of continuation but at least they got to tell the story they wanted in the end. Thank you for the thoughtful and emotional reactions! 💜
thank you for the comment :) i agree with what you said-- it felt like we didn't get to see a lot of them happy towards the end, but they did get their happy ending regardless :)
I've been watching you guys since the beginning, and having already seen the show, I was absolutely relating to everything you guys were going through lol. I didn't realize there was 20 minutes left during the song in the last episode, so I thought that was the very end -- when I tell you I was going THROUGH it
nooooo, not realizing how much time was left 😭😭 as you can see, Jade and I were also Struggling™️ thanks for all the support throughout this series <33
Been here since day one💜💜 43:36 your videos have also showed me others perspectives about all the characters and it has really helped me understand some things a lot better 💜💜
Loved your reaction!! Been here from the start 😅 Felt bad for you when you thought they'd have a sad ending 😂 You should watch the documentary at least on your own, they give the audience some closure haha. Also! OG Skam is my official rec if you two would like to keep watching something, it's similar but different and so so so good 🥰❤️💜
Reminds me of the ending of the final season of UK Queer as Folk, another happy ending. There, the happy couple sails down the road and out into space. In the real world, Wilhelm remains the son of the reigning queen and there's still baggage that comes with that.
