Helder en duidelijk uitgelegd. Ben zelf als de dood voor rare brom etc. in mijn audio installatie omdat ik niet het geduld heb om alles uit te zoeken. Om die reden wijzig ik niets in mij set up...Een kennis met hele goede oren hoorde laatst een hele zachte brom uit de subs komen...Gelukkig hoorde ik die zelf niet!
@@benfromhaarlem6617 Dankjewel. Ik zat er ook niet op te wachten om helemaal uit te gaan zoeken, maar het is niet anders. Als blijkt dat het inderdaad alleen maar een voorversterker buisje is dan is het simpel en goedkoop op te lossen.
As someone whose cable management is best described as “spaghetti entropy”, well done with your project, Ivar. I wish I had your patience. Painting the peg board darker might make sense if you were looking at it while in your listening position. Things got a lot less messy here in the US over the wknd🤞🏻

@@theaudiophilebarista2424 No worries, thanks for answer👍 I need new desktop speakers and through sound demos i like both, as i prefer tonality over super accurate freq response and both of those speakers are known for inviting tonality. Are there any other speaker with similar good tonality you experience through audio journey, that you would recommend for nearfield listening ?
Sounds good over YT, but what are your opinions of the DAC in the WiiM? As I posted to you before, my first thoughts looking at it are to use the coax out rather than the analog out and replace the tiny switched-mode power supply with a linear, regulated supply.
@@terrywho22 Hi my friend. As I am busy with all the other projects in my house I have not taken the time yet to really experiment with the WiiM. And there is no seperate dac in this system, so I have to go analog. However, for reasons I will address in another summervlog, I had the WiiM connected to the Audion poweramp and the Ocellia's. That gave me some new insights that I will share in the vlog 😉

I would like to point out that you did not use the 'transfer mode', represented by the icon of a square with an arrow pointing inwards. In this way the music signal does not directly travel to the 6000N, but the 6000N acts like an end-point reciever not a true streamer, your phone or tablet doing the actual streaming. So it travels inderectly thru your tablet or phone, not an ideal situation I would think. Or the other way round, use the transfer mode, and the primary signal is handed of and runs thru the 6000N, your phone or tablet acts only as an remote. This may elevate the sonic performance of the 6000N...
Good point, thanks for sharing 👍 However, as this unit is in use by my girlfriend this is not an issue because she does not use a tablet or her phone for this. She actually only uses the 6 buttons. That is why this is the perfect streamer for her.

I have a CDT6000 and love it. My 30yr old NAD CD died so I had to get it. I play it through a Schiit Modi Multibit 2 DAC, Schiit Lyr 2 pre amp, Schiit Gjallarhorn power amp into Royd Herald or Minstrel speakers. Lovely sound. I did a comparison with my Phillips Bluray BDP3000 and the CDT6000 whooped it both using coax out into Modi Multibit. Very happy.

Absurd that companies will go after reviewers that give honest opinions. Instead of finding out what they didn't like about it and attempting to improve the product, they immediately threaten the reviewer with lawsuits. Good on the sites and vendors that break off relations with these companies: they are doing the consumer a HUGE favor. So any idea if the DAC in the WiiM is any good? Once again, another non-sensical video about the unproven idiocy of double terminals. I have yet to read, see, or hear anything that validates the improvement in the sound of speakers that are bi-wired. Those cheap straps make no sense, and even less if they come with a pricey, high quality pair of speakers. Stupid is as stupid does.

Hi, I just received my R8 last week ( June 28, 2024) after only a 2 week wait. I purchased from China HiFi on EBay for $1,380.66 plus TAX, but no extra for shipping. I did receive the new improved updated version. I had a few questions, and I got them answered the next day. I've got 12 hours on the amp now (EL34), and it's great, and getting better with each listening session.
I went to buy some speakers. I brought a source and amp to test them with. The seller had a disconnected jumper. When I tested them they heard them like never before and didn't want to sell them anymore. I recommend using the connector of the High or the positive and the Low for the negative. That way if the jumper isn't connected there will be NO SOUND instead of just woofer or tweeter.
I appreciate your work in finding the perfect HiFi setup for your needs and desires. Especially can relate to having more devices than there are inputs on the (pre)amplifier and am very interested in seeing another tour of the little room when you’re done!

I purchased these today at a local thrift store here in Haarlem. Probaly owned by a smoker because the loudspeaker cables were dark brown. I got them clean for the most part with Dasty. The stands weren't there and the grills are dented. I am wondering if i can get the grills of somehow to bend them back into shape?
@@theaudiosenseinl Hi. Nice score. I love these little speakers 👍 You can get the grill off, but not from the front. You have to open up from the rear and then undo the screw inside. I have seen it, but never have done it myself. Let me know how it went?

Your fancy DAC has optical in, it must have an optical out to plug into your amplifier' optical in ? Is that a better choice seeing most amps have optical in ?
@@johncoscia5258 Hi, thanks for your comment. I am not sure why a fancy DAC would have a digital output (it’s purpose is to change digital into analog), but if the DAC inside your amp is of better quality you should definitely connect the Chromecast directly to your amp.
@@theaudiophilebarista2424 My Chromecast 3 not audio only has a HDMI out and is my best streaming option.So i got this from ebay, 4K HDMI to HDMI Extractor Converter Optical Toslink SPDIF + 3.5mm Audio RCA. l obviously use the optical digital out and into my Denon AVR. It's very good for the price. l can't get any eq on my PC to work with chromecast and Tidal free won't completely connect so it's Utube music , thanks .
