I live 5 minutes away from this it is not there any more taken out the city of Whitehall sold to to a big developer a lot of the houses set empty for years
What is the real history? Something stinks like it was a single employer town who abandoned the town. Reagan crushed manufacturing during the 1980's. Not surprised that was the last of this town. The crime and poor city management comes from no tax base over time. It is a symptom, not the disease.
I drove a ice cream truck through here the summer of 2000 this was considered Whitehall ohio it was behind the speedway gas station at the corner of broad street and Hamilton road
Either there is a valuable resource underground that had got discovered and was kept secret or tbis land was earmarked for a future construction project that wont happe. For another 20 years
All gone now. The Speedway is gone too. The fronts were painted blue, purple, pink idk what else a little before being demolished. Most likely the land will be sold to build more of those ugly high rise apartment buildings that are taking up every square inch of the city.
I like the fireplace and the house the way it was built not he junk in the house. My mom gave me a tape one year of patsy clines music she new when I was little I liked her music. 😊
The "blow fan" is called a bellows. The place looks like a hoarder lived there. FD would be fire department. W could be Worthington or Westerville? Cut may mean the power and gas lines have been cut off. There are places in OH that were built on top of military dumps. Maybe this is one of them. Kids in certain schools were getting cancer.
Google street view still shows the homes. They actually still look in pretty good shape whenever the images were taken, but the satellite view shows they've already been cleared.
