Single day diet does not lose fat. Fasting only loses fat if you are already in ketosis. Which is the body is already burning fat, this means you need to first have gone on no-carb diet for a few days before fasting. And then there is the point of you can only burn the equivalent of your calorie deficit in fat. So any one saying they burned 1lb/day of fat are clueless. They are just losing water that will come back once they start drinking water again and salts. 1lb of fat burn needs to burn 3500kcalories. so even if you donot eat, you still need to burn 2500 kcalories in exercise a day. This is almost impossible, and will destroy your muscle mass as excercise does that. The only correct way of fast loss of fat without destroying your muscle and skin/ suffering hunger. is switch to keto diet for a week, and then start cutting on the fat but not the protein. for one, its good eating and you are not subjecting yourself to hunger pains. only do not do intense exercise, fat burning is steady but not great for burst energy. Walking is what this state can support perfectly fine not 30 mins of running. This does this, it first switches the body to burn fat instead of carbs, so when you cut fat, the body does not differentiate body fat vs one coming from food nothing else is affected as you are still eating well with protein and vegetables. You are not cutting the quality of food.
As many others have commented, this is a really great and informative video. Interestingly on the FODMAP list some foods are mentioned on both the "things to avoid / reduce" & "good to eat food". That's a little confusing, though not the video creator's doing. One example is Yogurt. I think it just means avoid sugary yogurts, ok to eat wholesome yogurts.
Is bone broth recommended for breaking 3 or more day water fasts or for any fast?(even if its a 24 hour fast?) I have done 24 or even 30 hour fasts but I break my fast with a few nuts, half an apple(maybe 2 scrambled egg whites). Someone please advise. Thanks 👍
Of course it’s beneficial. We used to only have water and sometimes you’d go days without eating because you had to catch your food. Water fasting is what kept us alive and healthy
humans are not built for rapid weight loss, compared to chimps. Theres a difference between white and brown fat which is good to look into, but human fat is the way it is to protect and prmote growth in the brain. Which is why these speedy diets seriously affect hormones and mood, especially cortisol
i’m confused as to what people mean by “i’ve done a 27 day water fast” cuz 27??? how?? do you eat something intermittently? or is it straight up just water/tea? for 27 days?? nothing else??
My brother tried a water fast but suffered from Hyponatremia (Low sodium in blood). He had to go to the ER for cramps, fainting, and confusion. Remember that you still need your daily nutrients, especially sodium. Getting your blood checked is also not a bad idea.
