Driven along the Fort Road many times but we never stopped and walked along there so thank you Ross. That was the Victoria Tower I think. Years ago, on a holiday back to the Island, we got the key from Candie Museum and climbed to the top.
I ate here, I think at the Rockmount at Cobo Bay., when we used to come over with work from Devon must have been a Saturday night in September 98, I think, had a very packed bar which we actually walked through from one side to the other, through the bar, always great food and great pubs in Guernsey, need to visit again soon
The island seemed to change character when it rained - reminded me of some parts of the Isle of Man in the drizzle. Remember standing in the town with the rainwater swirling around my feet with burglar alarms going off from the flood. As always Ross delivers interesting and relaxed viewing ! .
The electric sub station in Fort road was very nicely built, ( antenna got my attention to that ) as for the hill climb, I would be interested for the classic cars and the non everyday cars, do like a Land Rover as I do own several, well that's about it from me in the SE UK.
Thanks for the memories Ross. We lived in a cottage (now demolished) where the large white building with black top is - so yes we had those views out to the islands. Then we moved down the Track - the kids loved that beach - low tide there is some sand - and exploring the rock pools - we spent a lot of time on that beach and loved it.
Oh, apart from beautiful St Peter Port i.e. "town" of course - a few hundred years ago something like Alladin´s cave for merchants and privateers (c) Andrew Doyle!
Was my stomping ground as a kid Ross. Grew up in Pointes Roque and we'd walk down to the Halfway for a swim 😮 Or through Delancey Park, down the steps into Grandes Maison Road and onto Richmond Corner . Btw...that green building was Lynbrook Shopper in my day. Ciao from Italy 👋👋
