Forgetfulness Potion : Sorcerers Stone : Color Changing Potion : DIY Prop Bottle : Harry Potter

Today we are going to make Forgetfulness Potion. This Potion causes an unknown degree of memory loss in the drinker. This potion is mentioned in Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, it was their potions final exam! This will be a great addition to our Potion, Prop Collection we have been making, or an excellent addition to a Cosplay Costume!
The Things you will need:
• I glass Bottle with rubber stopper ( I got mine at Hobby Lobby)
• Rubbing Alcohol (Or Distilled Water and Glycerin)
• Orange Food Coloring
• Black Cording
• Dark Purple Mica Powder
• Scissors
• Hot Glue Gun
• Sealing Wax Hot Glue Stick in Champagne
• Glass 1” Cabochon
• Labels Printed on Sticker Paper

So glad I discovered your channel, it gave me so many ideas to decorate our charity shop window for Halloween. This year we have Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley, switching on our towns Christmas lights, so the christmas window theme is witches and wizards, so now I'm planning a Harry Potter window display.

My friends are having a baby and their theme is the ocean and the animals that live in it. So I made them a Jellyfish Stingers bottle for their nursery and that absolutely love it. I did mine with the iridescent streamers like yours but I also used iridescent mesh tube I found at dollar tree, and used the tubing to make tentacles on the outside of the bottle as well.

Hello, I love your channel and all the ideas for potions and prop replicas you make even the cooking ideas like the butterbeer from HP. I have an idea for you, I would like to see your ideas and take on it. Have you ever seen the Halloween Disney movie "Scream Team" my idea is to replicate the ghost in a jar. When the kids catch the ghost Jumper in the mason jar. I was thinking the opalescent shimmering tissue paper and or the same in tinsel strips. In the movie the ghost is all shimmering and shiny. The only thing is they show a face and I don't know how to do that or if I should just skip that part. I would love to see your take and ideas on it. Thank you your awesome and I love you work and thank you for sharing your labels that is sool cool of you for us that are far less talented. Thank you happy fall and upcoming Halloween. 🧡🤎💛🍁🍂

So in your opinion, does using more mica powder help bring out the color shift? Just by watching this, I can see you use much more for this one potion than I would have thought necessary. But I also haven't had much luck in achieving a color shift that is that drastic. Usually, it almost seems like once I add my mica powder, it changes the color of the dyed alcohol itself, almost resulting in a more muddy, albeit sparkly, colored potion. You definitely have me wanting to get a glue gun for wax seals though. I have learned the hard way that cork stoppers are not the right material for this project too. lol.

It depends this bottle is a larger volume than most so it needs more mica powder. You have to be careful not all mica powders are created equally; some have pigment in them that will dye your liquid. Start with a smaller amount of mica and you can always add more for a more drastic shift. I always test my combinations in a smaller test bottle first too. This also will tell you if the mica will dye your base.

@@CookingandCraftChick I know I use the same brand that you used for this video. I have not done a bottle that big though. I maybe use like less than a teaspoon in most cases. Whatever the tiny plastic spoons that are sometimes included. I want to invest in a larger spoon.

HELP! I've clicked on the Forgetfulness potion label, attempted to enlarge it 3x (from 150-400%) but it continues to keep printing out sooo small, about 2.5" tall and I want a larger label. I've also selected Color 3x and it only prints in black and white and not the sepia, aged color I want. Is it not possible to enlarge and print in sepia/brown color??

The file is a PDF so you could import that into word or Photoshop and you can enlarge it and adjust the color there.
