Great video. I was on parts of the BRP last week including the viaduct, as well as 226A. Where on LI are you? How was the comfort of the RT for the trip?
Thank you! I live near Garden City. Ride was comfortable. RT is a great bike. On the way back we only took two breaks totally maybe 1hr 19mins. We did around 3 hour stints. Hope your trip was as much fun as ours 😊 if not more. I wish we had one more day but most of us had work the next day.
@@ninerpeak 3 hour legs is a long time in the saddle. I test rode an RT a few months ago - it was very comfortable and a lot of fun to ride. Love the boxer motor. My trip was so good, I’m going back again in a few weeks, this time on the GSA. I lived in Levittown for a long time before escaping NY to NC.
Yeah I agree with you. You can see it switching back and forth in this video. I keep it only when I’m not leading a ride. If I’m riding solo or leading a ride, I use Scenic.
@@ninerpeak Do you notice any handlebar vibrations. I seem to notice it more in my throttle hand it is noticeable to me I was a little surprised when I left the dealership, I was expecting it to be more like a gold wing..lol!
@masterspin7796 I think you are on the money here. Boxer engine is not k own to be smooth but yes, I do feel more vibration in my right hand compared to left and I know I don’t have a death grip. This is even when casual highway riding. I use Grip Puppies. They seem to help a lot.
“Gorgeous”…exactly! I am ordering my top case today and look forward to following your directions. My last (2008) RT was blue but I went with Alpine 3 white (2024) this time. I’m blown away by this bike and I’ve only put on 20 miles! Video clips like yours are very helpful for dudes like me who are stumbling their way through the new technologies and other advancements on these great bikes. Thanks!
Congratulations on the new bike! RT is a great motorcycle. I never had the fortune to ride the older models but I got the refresh in 2021 and it’s been an amazing journey. I am glad my videos are helping. I do this as a hobby with sole purpose of spreading knowledge. Thanks for taking time to comment. Enjoy the new ride! Cheers!!
Great ride! Looked amazing. Made me get the bike out. Its just you are 'bout 300 or more miles south of "Upstate" NY. Gotta get north of the capital (& east of Syracuse) at least....
Yes, Part 2 of this video was supposed to be Hancock and Catskill region but I never got chance to finish that video. Lake Placid region is my fav. It’s on the list for riding, hopefully next year. This year is all booked 😁
Splash proof. Use it all the time on motorcycle even during rain. Have dipped it in water accidentally no issues. I won’t put it under water for longer periods like while swimming.
Thanks for the review -- I'm looking for a tank bag for my '23 RT, and seeing the handlebar clearance was very helpful. Separate question: where did you get the tank top/side protection pads?
From a good friend on Facebook. Visit ninerpeak.com/gaetano-laudani-collection/ for instructions. He should be able to give you 10% discount if you say you were referred by NINERPEAK. This was about a year ago he may have new designs. Let me know if he doesn’t offer 10% off. I’ve brought RT hoodie and Tahiti for him too. I don’t get anything out of this, just trying to help his small business.
Hey! Thanks!! Yes I have two cameras but they only can start/stop recording with remote if both cameras are on. Which is useful in some cases but not when I’m riding. It’s a disappointment. So I use remote only for the camera looking at me but use record button for the helmet cam.
Had a choice beginning of 2024. Going from a R1200GS ADV to the new 1300 or something else. The R1300 is in its first production year and moreover I haven't seen the new GSA come out yet based on the 1300 engine. I owned a couple of first production year BMW's so that's one thing I avoid. Weighing in all factors I went for the R1250RT and boy is this a great machine. Perhaps in 3-4 years I will be eying a R1300GS ADV, but for now I'm great.
@@ninerpeak It doesn’t have to last, and without knowing your Timezone, the time of day would be incorrect, but at least you wouldn’t need a seperate device to keep track of the battery life of everything.
They made a remote for the Osmo 2 and 4, but not the 3 lol. My hero 5 with remote does this exact same thing, but I’m not sure how long it will let the camera sleep before shutting off the remote or camera. I’ll have to test it.
Nice!!! Congratulations on the new bike 😀 do tell us what are the major benefits for you after switching and what you wish they had on the new gs1300 that would’ve made it even better bike.
@@ninerpeak its almost perfect its light its small it goes up n down on its own , which helps w shorter inseams, its very stable at high speed and has excellent wind protection. The engine is amazin, excited for the RT 1300
Wow! You r able to review a brand new bike you’ve never ridden before, have limited knowledge about GS’s, and from my POV, u are a novice motorcycle rider. And BMW let you post a “review” on their product? Inconceivable!
I have both and despite all the goodness, if I have to keep one bike, it would be the K1600 GTL that I have for the overall experience. I gave up my first gen BMW S1000XR.
Kurtis was amazing. He did have models with street tires but those didn’t have features like blind spot and adaptive height that I wanted to highlight in the video so we chose this model. Ideally if someone is in market should ride multiple options to get better idea. It was a very limited test route as well so I picked the bike that can show the luxury/comfort side of things for non GS riders like me who are thinking about switching.
Thanks!! I wish I could go to west coast often. This bike was great. Unfortunately it is not mine. I ride 2021 RT but this bike was a rental. 2014 BMW F800 GT.
Bonjour (de France), Merci pour cette superbe vidéo et installation. Merci pour toutes ces explications et images qui vont bien m'aider à faire la même installation sur ma Rt de 2019.. je cherchais à faire ça depuis longtemps.. Bonne route V
