I love technology, especially when it makes my life easier. I post product reviews and anything related to Internet access, HVAC, solar panels, Tesla powerwalls, heat pumps and making your home smarter and more comfortable. In my day job I work in tech as a product manager. At weekends I like working on DIY projects after becoming a fan of This Old House.
This test makes no sense. Fans cannot magically decrease the temperure of ambient. These vents are designed to increase airflow, there is obviosly no compressor decrease the temperature of the air passing through. You'd want to measure the temperature of the room with controls in place.
What kind of propane hose did you buy for your grill attachment? I’m trying to hook up to my 500 gallon propane tank and can’t find any hose with the fitting for the generator.
Mine works fine , I put an outlet in the attic . My master bedroom was alway 79 80 with just one my room is always at 65 and I set the fan at 5 u can bearly hear it
The reason why the fuse values are different you know the one you said was W instead of Amps is because the right cable was substantially thicker then the left one that's the reason why it's different.
Hi Scott, did you say they discontinued this product? first of all thank you for this video review and super helpful and I was initially looking at Indor and came across your video, I do think they are quite pricey and wy I was considering this option. How did this hold up after all these years? I have a neighbor AC humming into our living room at 38 DBA noise lvl and planning to buy this to solve the humming noise or dent it, is it really that noise efficient?
Yeah unfortunately no longer available but it's been good for helping quiet noise from outside. I think indow should do a decent job too. Adding an extra layer, with a tight seal around the edge will absolutely help. The wider the distance between the panes the better for sound dampening
@@ScottAllison got it, so ur thinking have it sit on the furthest ledge be best to detor the sound, cuz my window and ledge is about 4-5 inches easily.
3 YEARS of the absolute most unreliable internet service of my life. Outages sometimes last several days. Normal days include 5 to 10 short outages. Weeks go by with download speeds of less than 75Mbps (not the advertised 700Mbps).
Hey Scott, great review. I also use both the YoLink Temperature sensors and a water leak sensor in reverse (notify on dry) to ensure the pool water level does not drop too much.. Amazing products with outstanding support that actually work from under my pool deck concrete to the other side of the house with no connection issues!

I have the exact same set up. Original fiber optic and I had the SR Smith mod installed last year. My pool is smaller so the light was perfect, but a year later, it’s flickering and gone out permanently. I’m debating whether to get the new bulb, or abandon that system. Any idea which is more work? If a surface mount option is less than $100 difference, but way more work to install, I’m inclined to just replace the SRSmith bulb. I’d also really like the light to be on a timer. Did you find a solution for that?
I think if I was in your shoes I'd replace the bulb too. I didn't manage to put it on a timer because when it powers on it always goes on random pattern mode.
"Once you buy one, you will want more" This is true. I am like a kid buying candy at the store. Yolink has a lot of game and firepower, the only thing I am disliking is the garage door sensor....I get an open/ close/ open when I open, and a close/open/close set of events when I close it 😮 What are you doing with the pool temperature? Is it just for tracking or you take any further action? I got the same sensor and was thinking about my LSI calculation but not really much more I can do
That's weird about the garage door sensor, mine doesn't do that. If you haven't already done so you should reach out to support and see if they can help. The temperature sensor for the pool is really just to keep an eye on it. We have a solar pool heating system so it's good to know that it's working and whether it's warm enough to go in.
Why don’t they respond to customers who have service issues when things stop working? Are they short service personnel or do they simply not care after they take the money?
I installed Tesla Solar with powerwall 3 with high expectation, and got permit to operate in June. After several weeks of usage, powerwall stopped working, no solar production. I called Tesla for support, the person said he needed to escalate to tier2 support and would take 2-3 weeks! After a week without solar and paid extra dollars to PGE for AC during the hot summer, the system worked again miraculously, no idea why. In the mean time, they called me to schedule an on-site visit, guess when, in mid November 4.5 months from now. After the system came back to life for a week, it broke again. I called Tesla to follow up the tier2 support and this time they said it would take 3-4 weeks. It is in limbo now. All I got from Tesla support is million of apologies, no action. Cost is only part of the consideration, be prepared to deal with the crapy support when the system not working.
I'm so sorry to hear what you've gone through. That's totally unacceptable. I will say my system hasn't had any issues so I've not experienced their after sales support (or lack of).
I wasn’t impressed with ours at first but the room that was normally 6 degrees warmer than the rest of the house was only 1 degree warmer after install. Genuinely works, but it’s only a 12x10 room
Hi Scott, very informative video. I like how you covered a number of the aspects of price. This is very helpful. 👍 Have you used AC Cloud with Fujitsu? I just bought a Fujitsu 3 unit AGU ductless system which has 2 wall mounts and a floor mount. The decision on wall vs floor was decided for us by the wall & ceiling floorplan in our older home with dormers and sloped roof. I am also very interested in the automation aspects. I use Alexa extensivley along with some Google Home. IFTTT as well as Apple Home. The 2 wall units are running in built in Airstage app while the floor unit is using Intesis AC Cloud. The Airstage was a quickly up and operational in Airstage and also connected to Alexa for voice & routines. The floor unit with AC Cloud is still in progress. I have the app installed and also connected to Alexa but unfortunately I keep getting error code for the floor unit. It looks like I am first install for the company for the floor unit. The tech call Fujitsu. That did not help much. So I am surfing the web for a solution. If you are familar with AC Cloud or interested, please let me know!😊
I looked at Intesis when I first got my systems installed but I've made peace with the Fujitsu Wi-Fi adapters, and they have mostly been behaving themselves. I've read online reviews of other AC manufacturer Wi-Fi controllers and apps and most seem to get very bad reviews. So I'm sticking with the devil I know! Could you not just get the Fujitsu adapter for the floor unit? Why did you end up with Intesis for that only?
I bought this 2 years ago after the 2021 Deep Freeze hit Texas. My house was without power for 4 days and the temperature dropped to 15 degrees Fahrenheit at my place. Anyway, since buying this, it just got me through Hurricane Beryl. Here in Texas, Beryl left about 2.5 million homes without electricity. After a week, there are still over 400,000 houses without electricity. This one is quiet, is really convenient, and kicks out more power than the Honda EU200i for a lower price.
Thanks for the review sale rep came today and I signed up and they will install in two day. I still have 4 months on my COX promo, so will give a shot.
How can you get through the operation prohibited? I have a Simple Remote Controller UTY-RSRY and can’t change the sensor to enable. The manual is useless. Any advice would be appreciated.
Wow!!! I felt that ,all the way over here..... I'M IN FLORIDA....That was powerful. I'm living in the lightning capitol of the world and I can say that was a strong one. 😮 Holy shit is right lol KUDOS FIRE DEPT
I’ve liked AC Infinity for years now. But when you really think about it, there’s no way two 120mm PC fans will move enough air to notice. You’re better off just getting a cheap tower fan.
