Welcome to the Legion of Weirdos! I’m Christopher and I have ADHD combined type (ADHD-C) as well as depression. I decided to make this channel a platform to share and discuss life with ADHD as well as mental health in general with the goal of helping to reduce stigmas! Why “Weirdos?” Because it’s GREAT to be different, normal is boring. Pretty much everyone is weird in some way… celebrate that and click “subscribe” to become one of the Legion of Weirdos! *Disclaimer: I'm NOT a licensed therapist or medical professional*
Kids with bad parenting always come out as adhd. Getting them on meds ofcause. People see those kids and they will let you know gore disgusted they are by their behavior.... not enough people realize it's the parenting that totally scr3w3d up the kids. But no, punish the kids further. Also people are proudly using their diagnosis as an excuse
My husband never answers his phone no matter who calls. What do you consider important? We don't go into the middle of the intersection waiting for oncoming traffic because we don't want some idiot to run a red light and hit us. The rest of the list, I have no problem with. I'm neurotypical, and he has adhd/autism.
There’s no such thing as being over active but there is a pandemic of laziness. I don’t see any anti-lazy pills. Teachers, government and people of authority have been attempting to dull down citizens to make them more passive, obedient and compliant since the beginning of time. Motivated, free thinkers are dangerous to leaders.
To add to this: Stop contradicting yourself Say what you mean Dont try subtlety Dont be arrogant, you dont know everything. Dont ignore us when we try to talk or suggest something USE YOUR BRAINS! If its not logical.. dont do it! Even if its the standard or custom or everyone else does it or your ancestors did it or you were told to do it by some stranger.
To diagnose a disease of the mind, that must be a very accurate procedure I'm sure. Sarcasm aside, people should accept mental diagnosis as a last resort to straighten things out. Not as it is now, where it's a first resort. Things are bound to go wrong this way. Love a saying of Alan Watts: If people knew, everything would be fixed. Since things aren't fixed, it means they don't know.
I noticed I absorb information better if I read more casually, if I read too closely and intently I actually miss what I'm reading and get distracted mid-sentence. Anyone else like that?
I've wondered what I had for years, suspected different things, but about six months ago I realized ADHD was probably it, something finally "clicked" so it's nice to have an answer at age 27. I'm going for an official diagnosis next month. What kind of confirmed it is knowing how our brains react to things like Ritalin and Adderall, I was out of allergy medicine and my boyfriend gave me one of his (he didn't tell me it was Bronkaid, he has to take that because of lifelong complications from a flu he had back in 2018, poor guy) and I noticed it didn't give me tons of energy like it usually does with most people. I heard that the active ingredient in Bronkaid is almost the same as that in Adderall and Ritalin.
Autistic girl here. Have to disagree on the diagnosis part. Many people are not actually able to get access to services that can diagnose them. Saying somebody can't be something if they're not diagnosed is quite a harmful viewpoint towards neurodivergent people.
I've known for 3 years that i have a pituitary tumor. I just had a mri and am going in to see my neurologist in a week to discuss what I need to do further and to see just what kind of tumor it is.
I was diagnosed with adhd, but my doctor said I might be autistic as well but he didn't recommend me getting diagnosed cause like what's the point if im on the low end. Like even if im on the low end that still counts. I can see that I have had it in my childhood. but anyways... doctors am I right.... also My mom does not validate me being Autistic. I mean she hated my adhd journey so she's definitely not on board with this. I was trying to educate her but she doesn't want to hear it. Like she sarcastically said this to me, "ugh! oh it must be your autism," Like with everything. I felt attacked with her stern voice. I need to validate for myself but its sad she won't listen. Like she even said oh I must have the adhd and autistic then.
He did say it was fake. Doctors won't admit it, but some will at least say it's way over diagnosed. ADHD is just a fake diagnosis for a kid that won't sit still. Hey, guess what? THEY'RE A KID, they're not gonna sit still for 8 hours smh. So rather than fix the issue, teachers just wanna throw them on narcotics smh. It's abuse and should be illegal.
First timer here. 100% resonate with this. Spot on, Amen, etc. Thanks for posting… PS: Has anyone else commented that the piano music is a distraction to your video? Probably just me. 🙄
Im unable to open my eye and my pupil is dilated i can still kinda see when i open my eye with my fingers. I was diagnosed with a pituitary tumor this problem with my eye happen last week I really hope the doctors im going to be visiting in ucla can help me.
@@DanieleManca1983 i got surgery few days after that comment eye doctor told me the optic nerve is healthy eye pressure is normal as well they told me it can take 3-6 months for my eye to go back to normal its been about 3 weeks after surgery i can open my eye just a tiny bit, pupil has gotten a bit smaller as well 🙏🙏
I heard that using a weighted blanket may be dangerous for us who have asthma or other lung diseases. Maybe the blanket is what causes me to cough at night time?
I get immense body aches and headaches from using my weighted blanket when I sleep. It's hard, because it does help me fall asleep faster. I guess I'll have to use it only when I'm awake
Im surprised didn't make communication it's own thing, like how they speak makes no sense, they are never direct, they drop hints to what they want and they think they way of speech is the only way, they can do anything BUT communicate clearly
I don't doubt some people find it harder to make sense of life , organise and calm the thoughts in their head, etc but definitely kids are being diagnosed too often when sometimes it is autism or nothing , just need to have more stability in their lives etc . I fear , if went to the doc with every negative thought i have ever had , about the way i am sometimes / basically my personality and emotions. I would walk out that office with a prescription for anxiety meds . A doc tried to prescribe me with anxiety when i went in there for a physical issue 😂. The point is , sometimes, people are given tablets they don't need but they THINK they need them cuz the doc said they do. People , you know your own body and personality more than the doctors .
Thank you for sharing the different types. I have had 2 surgeries within a 5month span. I am currently preparing for my third. I finally have the courage to even speak about it out loud and i have started to share my Journey. So happy to hear you are well and the tumor was removed. I pray mine will be removed and no more surgeries after this. 🙏🏾❤️
As someone who likes interesting conversation and proper audio I find a bunch of this commentary relatable. Just recently experiencing shrooms and it's even starting to feel like the world is an oyster again! Salud
The real issue is that neurotypical people expect neurodivergent people to conform and expect us to be able to do things that we can’t. That’s what’s truly annoying.
Hey they can’t even be understanding to their own kind, how do you expect them to be understanding to someone who’s brain developed differently throughout evolution.
Great channel, but diagnosis is a privilege. Of course there are so many fakers, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’ve lived for 52 years with autism and ADHD with minimal resources and medical professionals who did not know enough about either to diagnose me. My husband and I figured it out last year. Try finding support or diagnosis for autism as an adult.
