Would like to share my riding comparison between Velotric Fold 1 and one of its cheaper major competitors like Ride1Up Portola. Both ebikes I purchased very recently and pedal them about 80 mi each before providing w/ this info. Once I switched Velotric F1 to class 3 e-bike (allowing 28mph when pedal-assisting) most importantly than the max speed is actually how the torque power changed successfully for every PAS level. What happened is described very briefly - every one PAS level even otherwise the not noticeable PAS 1 or 2 increased its power when pedaling, and became so noticeable that I was able to pedal variety of terrains, including very short but steep uphills only using Velotric F1 PAS 1, incomparable advantage over Portola. Later even switched to Class 3 from Class 2 e-bike operation is forcing me going up steep hills especially to switch to PAS4 or 5 in order pedaling to get over the hill without much effort. The same observation is valid comparing Velotric F1 with other cheaper competitors like Aipas A2 and Lectruc XP 3.0 step-thru e-bikes. Being able to pedal practically everywhere without the need to switch to higher more-battery consuming PAS level or throttle - the outcome pedaling and saving more battery from discharge longer than Portola, Aipas A2 and Lectric XP step-thru.
Good video though I would say if you can just get a backup from the OEM supplier and then have two OEM EVSE s one in the trunk or Frank and the other at home being used to charge on level 2
There’s so much that you don’t know about this issue, but that didn’t keep you from firing up a camera & yap, yap, yapping about what you couldn’t be bothering w/ looking into first. Kinda makes you think about all the production staffing & research goin’ on behind more competent talking heads.
The value is in the use ability of the EV truck. Not the actual cost to run. Corolla shouldn't even be compare just as Tesla model Y. They are totally different kind of vehicles. 😮 Tesla for me was a good value again for it's tech. Cameras everywhere, big screen infotainment, AWD, can do fsd, keyless entry, etc. Again the value is in the feature build into the car not the actual money saved. Not saying you cant save money but it wouldn't be a priority. But upfront saving between electric vs gas is nice!
Right....its a 500 watt motor just like the Cafe Cruiser it's 500 that runs 750 SUSTAINED and finally a working brake light compared to Cafe Cruisers tail light only
So the wife and I ordered 2 of these, unfortunately something is up with the shipping, with the accessories arriving but no bikes, the order is showing completed, getting kinda worried about it being a scam, anyone have experience with the company that could answer if they are legit or not?
This video was helpful Larry, planning to buy a used one for a fraction. A lot of the problems seem to be what you get for the price you paid. I appreciate the honesty
6:40 I cannot believe you just said this has an aggressive geometry. This has a chill geometry. It is loaded with junk components from one end to the other. At 289, which is the current listing(This is a lie because they add 150 Dollars shipping.), it might be worth it. But, I know it will have the cheapest blue wrap batteries money can buy.
I just found this EV on the internet and I am really enthusiastic about it. Over a year ago now since you made this video and I see that they have upped the specs with 4WD and other stuff. Still an great price!!
Ride1up is a very dishonest and corrupt company to buy from if you don't live in the US . I bought one their bikes on-line , since I live in Canada they charged me $100 US for shipping outside of the US. They said in their written policies that there may be extra custom duties and taxes, which I accepted and understood at the time of the purchase. After a week of getting the bike I got a billing an invoice from Fedex for $260 CAD, shocked to say the least. On the invoice it stated that they (Fedex) picked up the bike directly from their (Ride1up) warehouse in Salt Lake City UT. in the States I called Ride1up to ask why was I charged $!00 US ($135 CAD) when none of that money went toward the shipping cost, not a penny ? They just made the excuse thats what they do for purchase buyers outside of the US. No straight forward answer or explanation to the reason why. So they will not charge buyers for shipping costs and pay completely if you live in the US. direct from their warehouse. While I was talking to the support staff, I asked why didn't that $100 US go toward the shipping cost that I was charged ?, he couldn't come up with a honest explanation. So in total for shipping, taxes and duties fees, I had to pay $395 CAD for a bike that cost $1,100 US . What a dishonest corrupt company . The commercial crime investigators should look into this company to their practices because they're charging people $100 US for nothing and pocketing it illegally.
