Gamers! I'm Lyciant a fellow gamer! You'll find livestreams, videos, shorts, challenge runs, speedruns and possible more!
I started this channel making Barony Content and I'll continue making guides until I finish my planned catalogue of content for it! But I am a gamer and I play all kinds of games. If you're interested in a variety of content stick around and see the journeys we take!
Glad it helped you out :) I should probably have mentioned a few other things, but I've only been streaming again for a few weeks and honestly don't think I've got my own thoughts organized anymore. Good luck in the dungeon!
Hi dmdeign, really glad you are enjoying the vods. I'm hoping to start making more videos too! But I'm not quite sure how I'll go about it just yet :) good luck in the dungeon! I'm streaming barony 5 days a week and on some days I might do additional content. Streaming times are usually 12pm gmt+2 (noon) Wednesday through to Sunday.
I'm really glad it helped you out :) There are many ways to play the game I wouldn't say any one of them is wrong, but I try to show the ways that are easier! The only thing that really matters is having fun! Good luck in the dungeon!
I'm only 5 mins in, and I gotta say thanks for breaking down all your actions and explaining them. I've already learned quite a bit from this video, as I only started playing this game last night. Cheers for helping out a beginner dungeoneer!
This comment confused me a bit for a moment hahahaha. I just set up a new cleric human stream and thought to myself "wait, how did they comment 9 hours ago if the stream is only 5 minutes old whats going on here?!" I'm really glad that the information was very helpful to you! Welcome to barony and welcome to my channel!
The help you have requested has been packaged and shipped! Expected time of arrival: 404 Thank you for watching Lyciant Gaming! On a serious note :) I'll suggest you look into Arcanist. Its similar to wizard only you have a few extra tools to use! I did do a run where i showed how to easily beat the game as one! Good luck in the dungeon!
Few questions about poly: Does player poly influence the stat growth? Like Shaman's poly do they increase stats on level based on form? Is Monster Poly permament? And does it get unique moves from the new form?
Only the players class affects their stat growth. You can view this by opening your inventory and hovering your mouse over the character level you see on the right hand side. Polymorph does not affect a player's stat growth. NPCs that are hit by a thrown polymorph potion will permanently transform. They keep all their previous stats, but their stat growth changes to reflect the new form. They will also become a NPC version of that monster. So a rat that is permantly transformed into a crystal golem will behave as if it were a crystal golems, be friendly with other crystal golems and even be able to use the power attack they do. In the most fundamental sense. The original NPC disappears and is replaced by a new NPC who just happens to have the stats of the previous NPC.
Meanwhile me who took 9 hrs on my first run. I'm suprised at the lack of mimics you ran into in the mystic library, trying to deal with mimics somehow indirectly led to the guys I recruited and the other NPCs to start fighting and in the end the only person alive that left that place was me, and even that is debatable since I was playing as an automaton.
It probably took me 9 hours of trying to get this short run hahaha and many many more to figure out how to do it. First time always takes longer, but you got your win! Congrats! As long as you are having fun - dont stress on the amount of time you are spending. As far as mimics, this was done before the eat my hat update that introduced them into the game. Version 4.0.2 [speedrun build] Good luck in the dungeon!
Hey Person! I really appreciate the comment! I know I haven't been around for a little while, but I'm very excited to start streaming again! Many many more streams to come!
Really appreciate you watching :) I've been a bit out of it for the last few months, but I'm very excited to start streaming the game again and to do much much more!
I love the Hunter class. Between the telepathy hood and boomerang, you get some very unique utility and late game scaling while still having very solid early to mid game power and versatility. It’s so much fun!
True story! But if you enjoy the hunter so much and you are willing to go without the telepathy you should take a look at arcanist! Its honestly my favorite ranged class due to having access to both magic and ranged with some crazy starting items!
my thoughts on rats using magic... You ever hear of a cranial rat? prevalent in DnD games, it ussually belongs to part of a hive mind of other rats. For RP sake it works at high levels in this... They normally have alot of spells in thier arsenal and if you get caught off guard can do a ton of damage in a very short time... as far as how to make it fair for your runs, I think that once magic and casting get over 70 or 80 it should be fair to start using lower level spells, at 100 all spells should be allowed. At that point in the game you are 1-2 shotting normal enemies anyway so it really doesnt matter at that point and im sure it gets boring just kiting back melee all the time so why not have a reward for your hard work... it would be cool if you managed to get a certain level on rat companions that they could start casting with you
Thats a very fair point of view :) I decided against using no magic as there isn't any way to learn any spells other than forcebolt at 100 casting and dominate at 100 magic. Being able to freely spam forcebolt repeatedly with the very fast speed of a rat makes it extreamly easy to finish the challenge, especially if you found a ring of invisibility. But being forced to be a squishy melee with very little damage is what the challenge really was all about. It was also completed. Although I did lose my shapeshift once somewhere in hell, but other than that 99.98% of the run was done purely as a rat without magic. I hope you enjoyed the video and thank you very much for the comment :)
They can also have invisibility cloaks and some other really nice items. However I've also just found rocks in them. LOL. I don't discourage looting chests, but to me they barely make a difference and I'd rather just spend the time smacking skeletons in the face! Muhahahaha :D
5min in and i found out that blocking with a torch (and presumably anything else that can block) gives pretty much the same dmg reduction as a shield would during blocking, this is huge
First one that comes to mind is your “book of power” livestream you did maybe a clip of you killing the twins in just a few casts with that super op blessed book
Thanks Oliver that inspires me to try and I think I have an idea of how I could probably make things easier in the future. I planned on starting streams again this week so we'll hopefully get to make some shorts :)
Hey Oliver! Thank you for the kindness. I'm doing better, hand doesn't hurt typing anymore. I was actually thinking about doing some livestreams again this weekend actually. Probably something that doesn't require me to use my hand too intensely, but I'm really excited about seeing the peeps again! :)
I would love to play with high FOV like you but I always mess up melee attacks. It's tough to measure the distance between you and the enemy like that. Any tips ?
practice getting a feel for the distance against doors and chests :) once you start getting a feel for the max distance fight skeletons / rats and walk backwards constantly out of range and spam attack, once you get 1-2 hits turn around and run away. If you keep doing that eventually you'll get a very decent feel for the max range attacks without needing to backpedal as much :) GOOD LUCK!
39:46 I recently used the Lock spell, to lock the doors on the traders because I was playing a skeleton and didn't want my followers to run in there and get themselves killed. Realized the hard way, that this was a possibility, when Kali did so. I actually found it to be very useful in that regard
@@LyciantYT I haven't found any use beyond that though. I've also tried locking open gates, because those spell trap blocks were behind them and either I was too dumb to hit it correctly or it doesn't work. Anyway, I have been enjoying your videos a lot. I just got Barony a few days ago and I have been implementing a lot of little tricks I learned thanks to you and have been able to get a win (it was actually the run I talked about). Took me 22 tries overall but hey, better late than never
In the older versions of the game you could move boulders as long as you had 5 strength. But these days you need the might buff from either the ring, gauntlets or potions. But it is nice for socaban :)
I've yet to finish the playthrough so I can't tell if you'll beat it but even so there's three things that make this incredible to me. Firstly, you've admitted in the previous stream that you've not even fully beaten the main story and are already attempting permadeath (I have 500+ hours and permadeath still sounds like a daunting task). Secondly you've turned the HUD off completely for immersion (which would cripple combat for me if I was playing perma and makes it drastically harder) Lastly, you've surrendered runs to deaths from glitches, which must be infuriating. No clue how you've managed to get this far under these criteria, but I'm rooting for you!
Goblin wizard is my fav build so far. I usually end up gunning for a secondary focus on Alchemy which helps preserve books and offers a nice combination of buffs and attacks
This is a old video! Back in the day appraisal would be attempted and failed repeatedly. Unlike the latest updates where it wouldn't even attempt to appraise unless you are able to succeed.
That is because I have a filter in OBS. The purpose is to make things easier to see on youtube and reduce quality loss due to compression. Its just for the audience :) my game is still perfectly dark and Ive shown this a few times in the past. I hope its appreciated <3
Many of the OG players knows about this. Although they would have told you its all about the angle which simply isn't true. It does make certain situations a lot easier to navigate, but I don't think its a requirement.
