That was terrible skill saw usage. You could have lost a few fingers or hit an artery and died before an ambulance even arrived. Always remember to cut away from yourself (Legs included) and be mindful of where you are using power tools ( on your lap is sub - optimal).
Thanks for your concern. I’ve been woodworking my entire life! That was not a skill saw (if it were, I would never have attempted that cut, with the wood on my lap). That is a jig saw with a fine tooth blade. I have control of the blade speed and I know the location of the blade at all times. If I were to make contact with bare skin the worst I would endure is an abrasion. Following this video I started saying “trigger alert” when I was about to use a tool in a manor others would perceive questionable. Yours is not the first comment on this topic… but it is the first in a long time…. Thanks for your concern… I’m still in one piece 😉
@@BeMotivatedChannel to live in the capital yeah but the outer islands are expensive as you can see from this video. The cost of living in the Bahamas 🇧🇸 is high I am just going to be honest with you
I'm a Bahamian from north eleuthera and we thank your good friend biden for our cost. Prices of gas and groceries were never this high until his administration came into power. We depend on America for everything and when you guys suffer we do to but it's worse here. We have to pay your taxes plus ours at the same time.
I'm also a Bahamian from Andros and I blame consecutive lazy government leaders who refuse to take the agriculture serious. We are UNABLE to feed ourselves, what do you think will happen if for some reason we aren't able to import food. We don't grow/can anything . Blaming another country for our problems and not adapting is insane. That's the mindset of the generation that got us here. Generation x, Baby boomers NEED TO RETIRE.
@Nomorefreefood it's common sence . If your main food supply comes from another country and that countries economy is in bad shape then what will happen to those who depend on that food. Do you grow toilet paper here no ofcourse not. What about medicine that we desperately need everyday. Our gas prices have never been this high in decades and most likely won't get any better. Do you have a oil rig on Andros ofcourse not. I'd say 90% of what you see in food stores comes from the usa, well it does on my island
@@weldonpinder7295 we need to produce our own. There are so many developing countries who do not have oil, but because they manufacturer and grow their own food the cost of living is much lower compared to us . Travel to a country not name America and see for yourself or do a Google cost of living comparison between countries. Not having oil us not an excuse. Like I said, we don't need to be so dependent on America so much. PLP/FNM. Got us thinking that way. We need Change. God bless ✌️
@Nomorefreefood I fully agree that those who have the resources on those islands to produce should and sell within our islands to help our cost run down but that's not how it is. One time ago eleuthera produced all the milk we needed to supply the country. Regardless of whatever we produce that still doesn't change we depend on America for alot
Hi! At 3:16 I’m 95% sure I’m one of the buddy boats behind you. We left from West Palm in early March, 2023, at 4 AM, we were two boats, and the size difference in our two boats looks like your video. It was our first offshore passage, for both of us. Just as we were turning into the outlet we saw a catamaran in front of us, and said “He looks like he knows what he’s doing, we’ll follow him!” (If YOU only knew how nervous we were)! Thanks for keeping us off the rocks. 😊. Just found your channel, and we’re enjoying it.
lol. Hi guys, I’m not sure of the exact date but I bet you’re right. We could hear you on the VHF talking to each other. I remember hearing you say something like, where did that catamaran go? We cleared the markers and took off before the weather could change. Funny, we had no idea either! The channel is quiet right now, I have tons of footage, I hope to get uploaded someday. Cheers!
Are ya'll still sailing? Or is this channel dead? Did you sink? Or did ya'll just quit? Ben over a year! I guess I have to move on. To bad it was a Good channel. So Aloha and Mahalo from the Big Island of Hawaii! I guess I will never see your sails on the Horizon from my lanai.
@@SaltyEscape Ok. Glad to hear ya'll are ok and safe out there. Was a bit worried. Keep us informed on how ya'll are doing and when you are going to get back on the water. Ok until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!
What happened to you guys?? Haven't seen a video in a long long time.....did you head back to the states or did you come down-island? Anyway, hope all is good.
Those chunks that are in that strainer are also in the bottom of your water tank I would seriously consider a full cleaning and sterilization of the water tank if you're drinking that water. In addition to the water filtration I also have a filter and tap at the sink Specifically for drinking water
Yeah, the chunks are from the aluminum tank galvanic corrosion. The filters are hospital grade / life straw technology level. It’s basically sterile. 0.01 micron. No need for any other filters at the faucet.
@@SaltyEscape Thanks for replying I don't know if you did or not or maybe have replaced the tank but I would at least clean it or replace it with a Polly tank. Just so you know that we're tests done on lifestraws and it didn't really go that good. Watch the video on water filters on project farm
9 months is a long time for no update. I really enjoyed this channel. Hope all is well. I can imagine how difficult this life style can be and the expense of no significant outside funding coming in.
Sorry for the lack of update. Ohana is on the hard in Port Canaveral getting work done. Sitting out this season as we work and work on her. We would love to go again… we’ll see what the cards hold. 😊
I'm about to do the same on my boat, some amazing tips and ideas have been got from this video alone!! It's a smaller 27ft boat so the DC panel is a lot simpler but it's an absolute birds nest behind there. Last time I stuck my hand in to follow wires 3 black (hopefully all negative) wires popped out of the clamps! My favourite saying is "when you are on your death bed you will not regret anything you did, only regrets will be the things you did not do"
So...seeing Ohana pass us today gave us pause because that definitely didn't look like Becky at the helm nor Corey lounging in the cockpit! Guessing you sold her? Does this mean you're done sailing?
Corey grew a beard?! Awesome! Great to see you out here, maybe we'll catch up again - you may recognize my logo, we're the tiny catamaran you passed through Crescent Beach Bridge with :)@@SaltyEscape
Guys, I’m a 100% service connected Veteran. I’m 51 and basically retired. I’m complete novice. I’m single and my kid just graduated Army bootcamp. you redo it? What would you change? Thanks!
Amen on the "at least it wasn't 5200." This weekend I replaced the old dryrotten teak on my 88 Hunter 23. The companion way door guides were held on with screws, with a few dabs of that stuff. I ripped a huge chunk of gelcoat off on the starboard side... Definitely used some choice words.
@@SaltyEscape yeah, my father in laws shop looks pretty similar to your dad's there. He's a cabinet builder by trade. And he's kinda gotten bitten by the festool bug lately.
Man, I really wish I could get my kids onboard with a plan like this... I've been trying to convince my family to do this since 2011. My wife says not until the kids are gone.
I completely understand. Here’s the thing, you only live once and these have been INCREDIBLE family experiences. I highly recommend! if you want to do something you should start immediately and work towards it. Life has a way of getting in the way and creating reasons for you to abandon your dreams. I hope you get to do this though. Fair winds, Corey
It was a few years ago and prices are better now. But as I recall the batteries and BMS boards were 1200.00. The Victron equipment was the worst but soooo worth it. The system has been in service now for 2 years and has performed excellent. In the Bahamas we were able to live off of solar 100%. We even had “extra” power after we hit 100% and we would make bread and ice… etc. we are very happy with the system.
