The weather turned and we took a chance on the passage through the Notorious Current Cut to Eleuthera to see the Glass Window!
Sailing The Bahamas has been a great experience for us. We have seen many different sea and weather conditions which all build our confidence to handle longer and further voyages!

Blogging = "weB Logging", in the heady days before "Video Logging" :)

It originated with the word Travelogue.

Ahoy from Maris Stella! Love seeing that beautiful water and everyone safe and tanned! Still cool and stormy here in North Carolina. Fair winds!

@@SaltyEscape Logs started in sailing. Ship captains kept a daily log of location & events. This got incorporated into tech circles w Star Trek & both Kirk & Picard starting most episodes w "Captain's Log Stardate: ..." When network administrators were asked for frequent updates by upper management, they resorted to the time tested logs of sci-fi & yesteryear posted on a public web page: "web log" -> "weBlog" -> "blog". They tended to be more like Twitter: short & pithy posts of facts. I wrote blogging software for STRATCOM in the USAF in the mid-90s. The form merely updated a web page. In the late 90s, developers started integrating databases, and dynamic integration of visuals (themes). Wordpress was / is the most advanced blogging software built on PHP / MySQL. Microsoft bought it, tried to convert it to ASP (my old specialty), failed, & sold it again.

Safety Tip: For ingress/egress at Current Cut, Look at winds and tide and then Punch IT!. BTW if you are only using New Providence for tide info you are going to miss being very accurate. Find tide info from at least three locations in the Bahamas and WAG something based on your current location. We liked to find caves. You can only enter the caves at low tide for around an hour. Accurate tide data is very important.

Great video. Nice to see you have some Buddy Boats and ones with some kids. I expect to sail the Bahamas this winter on a cat and hope we hit Current Cut at slack tide. Wonder if the locals have a better handle on currents. Depending on condition, we expect to try the Devil's Backbone to get to Dunmore Town. You convinced me to stop to see the Glass Window, maybe at high tide and hope to find a closer dinghy landing location.

It wasn’t actually 4 miles. Tambi from Sailboat story was walking next to me. I was joking and for some reason you can’t hear her say “it wasn’t 4 miles”. It’s less than .25 miles to the glass window to the left and a little bit further to the Queens Bath to the right. Just anchor in front of those two big rocks that Carter climbed. It’s very easy!

You are looking relaxed and tan! 😀 Are you enjoying sailing? Is being fulltime on a boat as you expected?

The way the boat feels in rough seas is a lot for me (Corey) to get used to. I have a lot of worries about our old standing rigging and other things breaking. Becky, Carter and Ella seem to do okay with rough conditions. I’ve found the sea state DOES NOT show on video… maybe 25%. So the RU-vidrs out here are much tougher than I knew.

You had me until the 8 mile hike 😂

Lol. It wasn’t actually that long. For some reason you can’t hear Tambi from sailboat story laugh and say “it wasn’t that long”. (You know how it is with editing). It was only about quarter mile.

That really is a beautiful part of the world. You guys look a lot less "stressed" than you did whilst on the dock (no surprise) so enjoy
