Hello, my name is Elliz! I share all your favourite Malaysian food but vegan! When I started eating a plant based diet in 2018, I couldn't find many kampung (village) Malaysian plant based recipes so I had to develop my own by experimenting with different ingredients. I started this journey to share my knowledge with you so you can continue having Malaysian comfort food without compromising on flavour! My Tok Mah (grandmother) is the biggest influence on my taste of food and cooking style. I have so many childhood memories of Tok Mah's Perlis influenced cooking. From roti nyok breakfasts, cekodok pisang for tea and kari for dinner. These recipes have all been passed down to my mum and me. I hope you enjoy your time here and feel inspired to try your hand at some vegan kampung food. Happy cooking! Love, Elliz, the Kampung Vegan
Excellent presentation that Tempeh looks cool I have never had it before I make my own Natto and love it. Will be trying this for sure and that trick with the ziplock bag is great Thank you
Wow! 😊 I love the way you cook. I can almost taste the food. It reminds me of Laos. But you are so far away. Is there a Laotian influence in your cuisine? Also, what kind of rice is it that you’re using? Are those kafir lime leaves/trees indigenous to your country (which I assume is Malaysia)? And finally, I really need to get my hands on those packaged tofu skins! My vision is already expanded by just having watched a couple of your videos. 😊
This video popped up on my feed. I just almost instantly subscribed because I don’t know who you are; but I want to. And I want to see you succeed in whatever your quest. I think you have a lot to share with the world and I must simply experience it. Good luck and lots of love. 😊❤
😊🙏 Glad they offer Vegan Satay! Vegan dishes are even cleaner to consume than Halal foods as Vegan dishes have Zero Meat in them ... But still must observed general Safe Food Preparation , Handling & Holding of Vegan Dishes to avoid bacteria from multiplying in these humid tropical climate! 😊🙏
I did this today. Followed your recipe to the dot. Just added an extra ingredient, toasted coconut flakes. It tastes so good and it will last me longer 😊
Happy to see you back! Love the new kitchen and thank you for posting this recipe. I'm thinking of making this for our annual summer gathering next month, wish me luck in finding sweet asian mango 😊
Thank you so much, Rere! It's good to be back 🧡 That sounds amazing, I'm sure it'll be a hit. Especially if you serve it with some ice cubes or crushed ice!! Good luck with the mangoes, let me know how it goes!
Good to see you and your lovely dresses again! The singing of the birds, the gentle piano music, and the soothing sounds of your preparation of this dish were a delight to experience. The sago pudding looks tantalizing to me, as someone who still loves tapioca pudding, otherwise abandoned after childhood by most Americans. I love the addition of mangos! Thanks for posting 🙂
It's good to be back here! This video is so different from my other ones so I'm so, so happy to hear you enjoyed watching it! ❤️ Yes, sago pudding is so simple and nostalgic - I think it's having a moment now and everyone's loving it again so yay! ✨
Hello! Thanks for sharing the recipe. I have seen on several cooking channels how they waste water washing, rinsing or cooling food with the faucet open to maximum and the water running straight to the drain when it could have a second or third use. There is a growing global water crisis, including my country, and I believe that everyone We should exemplify better use of water, even more so if we are Vegans for all that this means. I appreciate your attention to my comment. Blessings from Mexico💙
You are Vegan/Veg and I love that! Love the recipe, but please don't recommend organic soy beans and then pull out a single use plastic bag for meal preparation. Maybe a wax coated or boiled linen towel, bamboo mat would be just as functional.
