Hi! I'm Jamie and I am a street art-obsessed, crochet artist/literature enthusiast/travel addict. I have lived in 6 different countries around the world, travelled to 29 and have recently added videography to my list of hobbies. My videos are primarily about the travelling I do, but also the events around the places I am currently living in. Follow along to see what I get up to!
interesting and informative touring of "ASPIRE LOUNGE at the Calgary Intl. Airport" looks most calm and delicious @2:52 😋😋 loving the location @5:05 super video ! LIKE 👍👍
What a beautiful street art in Paris. I wonder which city in which country, first started the street art. In Malaysia, KL and Penang have some beautiful street arts, and almost all cities in Malaysia have their own street arts.
That is a great question. You could say cavemen paintings are street art or 'wall art'. We did a tour of Pompei and there was a lot of street art in that city too. I imagine it has essentially been around since people have been around...
@@karlbrady71 Appreciate your information and knowledge of street art. I remember decades ago in KL, it started with a wall graffiti at the river bank near central market. Who would expect, KL now has amazing street arts, I think mostly near the Chinatown. But more than just that, on the side of buildings, on the pedestrian etc. You guys enjoy your weekend. 😀
@@karlbrady71 I really admire the different styles of architectures in Europe especially in the big cities and also in the charming villages. Some walls of the traditional houses in Europe also have wonderful paintings almost like a beautiful street arts. Let's say, if someone walks in Paris, from one point to another in an hour, I would probably take more than few hours, stopping to admire all the details in architecture, so much intricacies from the facade, and that what happened when I walk along Gran Via to the HRC in Madrid. By looking at the emblem and crest of the premise, I remember about Tony Buzan book, what people used before the creation of numbers. I was falling for Europe, hoping whole heartedly for a posting to Europe, alas got Mumbai instead, not my cup of tea, not a conducive environment to broaden my horizon, alas, I got to see more UNESCO world heritage sites, much more than what I've seen in Spain, but the ones in Spain, have a better definition for my future. I guess you guys are very lucky to be experiencing the beautiful places around the world. C'est la vie. 😀
A good friend of mine, a U.S. Air Force Vet, who served at Minot AFB, had a clever response to the question, "Why not Minot?" The response was: Freezin' is the Reason.
Never! Walking around Paris is the best part. It happened so many times where we turn a corner and see an unexpected beauty. I love the metro but if it is less than a 2 hour walk; we're walking!
@@karlbrady71 Wonderful. Not really. I only visited Europe once, and that was Spain. I had visited Madrid, Seville, Jerez, Torrremolinos, Malaga, Granada, Sierra Nevada, Cadiz. I fell in love with Spain and tried to seek a posting to Europe, however, I only managed to get Mumbai. I also fell in love with some of the UNESCO world heritage sites in Spain, like the Plaza De Espana and the Cathedral in Seville, Al Hambra in Granada, the Grand Palace and Prado Museum in Madrid, the history of those places are truly amazing. I think France also has dozens of amazing UNESCO world heritage sites. One day, I truly hope that myself and my loved ones will be able to visit Europe especially Amsterdam, London, Paris and Switzerland. My late eldest brother been to Switzerland for a culinary examination. Only my late parents had a tour to Europe and they been to the Eiffel Tower. 😀
and the poverty was given by the British so It will take some time to get rid of it but India is doing pretty good in getting rid of the poverty percentage and as you know its 1.43 billion people so you can guess as like 1% is around 14 million people.. and poverty will always be exist in any part of the world... But we are dealing with it as we progress next year we will be 3rd largest economy so It will still take a lot of time to get that margin low.....Jai Hind..
Like all major countries and cities; there are good and bad parts. I couldn't imagine the necessary infrastructure needed to keep India clean. t was disappointing to see so much trash in some places but some places, were well maintained. A lot of people have a bad attitude, which is the number 1 problem. I saw many people finish their chai (or whatever) and toss their cup on the ground without considering putting it in a trash can or recycling can.
@@onceuponaglobe Sounds lovely. Merci beaucoup. I tried to follow my late parents footsteps, holidaying in parts of Europe, had fun on top of Paris on the Eiffel Tower. When the time comes, the shoe will fit. C'est la vie. 😀
Wonderful, looks amazing. Theres soo many things and food to check out. Have you had the fresh tandoori chicken and butter chicken? Also, try out the local dishes from each state.
I only spent few days in Delhi, and one day spent for an excursion trip to Agra. I only got a chance to walk pass by the Red Fort, drived by the Lotus Temple, and walked halfway to the Mosque, it was near an Eid, and the massive crowd along the way with open markets, made it impossible to reach the mosque, and we turned back out of the jam packed crowd. But I managed to visit the Gate of India and Qutb Minar, had some delicious briyani etc.
Hope that your next trip to India will be a more rewarding experience. Although I've been in Mumbai for 3 years, I only managed to visit some places. Few of my favorites were in Goa, Allepey and Kovalam in Kerala, Jaipur and Udaipur in Rajasthan and my best traveling experience was in Himachal Pradesh during winter, in Manali, Mashorba, Manali and Solang Valley. I also had a chance to visit Delhi, Agra and Chandigarh. Also been two weeks each in Bengaluru and Chennai, handling official trade and investment mission from Malaysia. My best working experience was two weeks preparation for my 3rd handling incoming trade and investment mission from Malaysia at the Taj Palace in Mumbai.
@@onceuponaglobe Fabulous. I wasn't really anybody in KLCC. I was the executive secretary to the MD/COO, managing his office and his time management, ensuring that the KLCC met its objectives, within budget and time scheduled. I joined KLCC in 1993 at the beginning of the foundation, migration to the Petronas Twin Towers in 1997 until full completion of the KLCC project in 1998. It was a once in a lifetime working experience. 😀
You bet I will 😉 we were only in Paris for a few days before moving on, but something tells me we'll be back in France again. You have to show me around Grenoble some day.
Wow. The incredible Taj Mahal in Agra. It's one of the most beautiful UNESCO world heritage sites. I was speechless when I stood in front of the Taj Mahal back in 2009.
6:14. The door was opened so I guess it's the main entrance. You probably didn't notice it, but the arch is flanked with Surah Al Yasin (Full 86 verses of Chapter 36 of Al Quran, the holy book of Islam, Al Yasin is considered the heart of Al Quran for the Muslim). 😀
The Arabic calligraphy of Surah Al Yasin was made using the Pietra Dura craftsmanship, embedding the semi precious black stars of India onto the white marble. The black, white and purple stars of India semi precious stones were believed to repel the evil. Some work of Pietra Dura also used beautiful colorful precious stones in the interior and exterior of the mausoleum. The actual tomb are hidden on the ground floor. The tombstone inside Taj Mahal sits above ground on a podium. 😀
I certainly noticed it and wondered, but unfortunately cannot read it. Thanks for the info! I'll look into a translation of it now because I'm intruiged!
@@onceuponaglobe According to my tour guide, many years ago, Taj Mahal was opened to public during night time, the precious stones in the interior shines beautifully. However, after cases of theft, some of the precious stones were stolen and now Taj Mahal is only open to the public during day time. My tour guide also asked me to Azan, Muslim prayer call, inside the mausoleum, and my voice echoed inside the building. He also showed us a place in front of the garden, asked me to lift my hand and pinched, and the photo looked like I'm holding the Taj Mahal in my hand, hehe. 😀
I just did a google search of the place. It looks amazing, and it is huge. Tt is very disappointing we don't hear of places like this more often coming from the west. That temple looks like it is worth another trip alone.
Did you check out Jaipur forts? Also, check out Jain temples if you can. Have you tried kachori and laal maas in that state? Which states you gonna check out?
I did see the Jaipur forts- I saw the Amber Fort and the Nargargh Fort, I think there was one more in the area but I didn't see that one. Both were incredible. We didn't see any Jain temples in Agra, but we saw several in Jaisalmer- stunning!
@@karlbrady71 No I didn't. I made a day excursion road trip from Delhi to Agra, the journey to and fro, the time exploring Taj Mahal, took most of the day time. But I got to watch it in this wonderful video. 😀
@@karlbrady71 Yes, all the forts especially in Rajasthan are fascinating in their own way. There was a fort I visited in Rajasthan that is also unique on its own, it's also one of the biggest forts in India sitting on a hill. I stopped by this Chittogarh fort, if I'm not mistaken that's the name, on my road trip from Mumbai to Udaipur and Jaipur. And from this channel, I've watched some forts that I didn't have the time to visit. Actually I prefer to see the palaces on its own or in a fort. There are so many intricate art and architecture details in palaces rather than forts. 😀
its currently very hot in northern part of India. Best time to visit these places is nov-march. Please visit Rishikesh and more northern parts in Uttarakhand. Rishikesh is "Land of Yoga". thank you for visiting my country. have happy journey ♥♥
