All three ladies seemed to be very charismatic, and flirted with the truth, so who knows what the real story was.

I highly recommend the movie "Behind the Burley Q". It's all about the history of burlesque. At one point it is said that gypsy wasn't pretty, didn't have a good body, and could not sing. But she was smart and funny and could sew.

Voltando nesse video depois de dois anos pra dizer que estou participando de Grease (o que era um sonho pra mim desde sempre) e como esse video foi muito importante pra mim, pois eu acabei descobrindo muito mais do meu musical favorito. Muito obrigado!!

I just saw the opening number from this musical the other day, and I'm so happy I'm not the only one who thought it was subpar!! It's way too modern and artsy-fartsy for such a deeply important story that means so much to generations of people. There was no reverence and no respect.. This is what happens when you take too many creative liberties

I rememebr watching this for my Bday with my sister and just thinking "god, this is poor". Went home, watched the movie, and noticed theyd mucked up the music themes so so much. Its just a whole shambles of a production.

The story, the music, the magnitude of the event is just TOO BIG to present in a musical.

"Autumn Shall we all meet in the autumn? Golden and glowing by autumn Shall we still be best of friends? Best of friends... All through each languorous season We ebb and flow Romance, defying all reason Will come, then go Still, perhaps this autumn Love won't retreat in the autumn All that we have won't be past Won't be past... Let breezes blow and turn cold As we continue growing old This autumn Love newly found May yet last"

considering Princess Power Hour, which was back to back episodes of Little Mermaid and Aladdin, i can totally see why they used the same song different lyrics. bet those episodes were done together during princess power hour

we performed the original awakening of spring as a one-act in high school😭 crazy that it was compressed into 40 minutes and thrown at high school audiences and their parents with no trigger warnings (although that probably was the original target audience so yay)

As a Jew, The prince of Egypt is one of my favourite movies. I love seeing Jewish culture being represented seriously and not as just Gefilte fish and bowel issues jokes or Holocaust victims

Going to be playing Hanschen in local independent production of Spring Awakening here in Montreal in June. This video is remarkable. It has given me far more profound understanding of the history of this amazing show. Thank you so much for making it❤

The parallels to Rent make sense cause Spring Awakening is also exhilaratingly navel gazing. It probably would have been better off set in the 50s.

I'm so glad that I watched this review because just watching the opening song made everything cringe. At least the animated movie keeps SOME of the same elements of the original Exodus.. This entire play, based off this video, undermines the ENTIRE Exodus book, God, the miracles that the Jews lived through, and makes a mockery of what God wanted us to know. This entire film/production was just a cash cow that I'm glad to know has died and won't be revived again.

"Deliver Us" definitely leans far too much into a nightclub atmosphere. They need a lesson from Les Mis about proper strife attitudes. Not sure why it was directed sexy - that put me off. If it comes to America, I do hope that gets re-thought. We don't need skin to sell (at least I hope we don't)

Walk out with dignity Michael? Bullshit. The original cast had no rights, no residuals, no touring companies money and nothing made with original album, posters, all with their images. They were robbed plain and simple.

I always get personally offended when people talk about the "My Life Story For $1". First off, they didn't get $1. Some of them got a Broadway show. Michael Bennett gave all of them a percentage of his profit of the show, whether they part of the taped sessions, or the workshop. And truthfully, no one would know any of their stories if Michael Bennett didn't pull this together. We only know these people because of this show.

Innocence (truthfully) equates to ignorance. These ladies were survivors in their own individual rights. Rose was a known killer, which means there are lots of metaphorical 'murders' we don't know about regarding ALL. E'nuf said.

Huh. It seems really iffy to me, to turn an SA scene into something that is *still* definitely not enthusiastically or informedly consented to but calling it him “helping” her find her sexuality.

Anyone else think it’s odd how Jane Doe means unidentified or even mysterious if being used as a cover name, and Jane Seymour was and still is a mystery that will never be solved much like Jane Doe cases which go cold after a while
