So $25 a month for Google maps, if you don’t use that but use android auto or Apple Maps, can you throw those maps up on the center console or does it just work with Google maps?
You do still have access to Apple CarPlay and Android auto like normal. The $25 google maps option has taken over built in navigation though, so for people who rely on built in, this is their only option as built in, “hardwired” navigation has been phased out. Thank you for watching!
@@CEALLIFORNIA So you *Can* use Android Auto/Apple Car Play on the Instrument panel display or only the big center console (where the temperature, headlight settings etc… are)?
Yeah lately last few years, the trend has been that finding models that have no options added to their trim is very difficult. Even the work truck spec, Nissan Frontier S King Cab I review had about $3k in options. It’s either you order it with no options or you go on a national hunt to find one, that’s about the only way to find one without any options. Thank you for watching!
My apologies, running on a very tight schedule this day and was trying to make sure I got everything in before sundown. Some days I do have time and other days like this, it just wasn’t in the time budget, I apologize. Thank you for watching!
@@CEALLIFORNIAplease do a night review and review the headlights super Cruise in the rain and in fog including nighttime driving I want to see the limits of the system
I still would like to get that review in at some point, but I can’t make any promises. The business of summer has begun 😂 but I am doing my best to keep the content coming for you! Thank you for tuning in again!
I’m glad you agree! I think the Traverse RS is a sweet package, really sharp looking too. But for this money I’d like to see somewhat of a performance upgrade. Thank you for watching!
Update from my previous comment: I have since purchased a 2024 Chevy 1500 Trail Boss with a 2.7L. So far, it’s a great little engine and truck. However, I cannot stand the high rpm start-up. Secondly, I am getting horrible fuel mileage in the city (13.8-14 mpg) and just ok on the highway (19ish). I expected better, and I know people who are getting much better. At this point, I feel like it needs to go in for diagnostics. Although, it runs smoothly and has the power I need. The lighter engine makes for a very nimble handing truck. I feel like it would perform well through slop. With this current mileage, though, I feel like I shoulda had a V8. Again, I still prefer the nimble, light front end over a V8. So, I have to figure this fuel economy out.
That’s actually a pretty good deal, thank god these are starting to come back down to MSRP/reasonable prices. Even recently I’ve heard of people still paying over MSRP for certain trims so I think you made out well. Enjoy your new ride and thank you for watching!
It’ll be interesting to see how this 2.5L turbo pans out over the next few years. I’m hoping it will do good for the people that buy it. Thank you for watching!
I really enjoyed your coverage of the 2024 Traverse RS. You cover more features (options) than other channels. Looking forward to your next vehicle review.
Great review Ceall! 20 grand extra for basically an appearance package is ridic. I would go with the Explorer ST for sure. I wanted to get a pre-owned one but they are hard to come by..at least here. How are things going? Summer is here brother and we are feeling it! Thanks God for AC in the house and car and for the cooling seats. Just trying to lay low here and limit the outside time. Hope that you are doing great and that Summer hasn't been too hard on you! Take car my man!
The stuff on the outside and the inside is great, but for such a big price tag, I want something under the hood! And yeah I know, pretty much any vehicle you’re looking for nowadays, if you want to get a good deal going out of state is the best idea. Things are going good, it’s been very busy lately with summer starting so trying to balance everything! 😂 Just washed up the jetski and the camper to get them ready for the season! It was a lot of work but I always like to give them a bath before the season starts. Glad you’re staying cool and I hope you’re doing good brother. Have a productive and healthy week my man!! Appreciate you watching another review!
@@CEALLIFORNIA Yeah the market was and still is super tight here for most of the cars I was looking for. Unfortunately (for me) prices have dropped so I bought high but I still love my ride. Summer is here for sure and I hope that you have a ton of fun riding those jet skis brother and stay safe! \
@@jameswalsh6131 Yeah that happened to a lot of people over the last couple years, but prices seem to be leveling off which is good news! You know I will! Can’t wait to see how warm the lake is, it’s definitely been a minute since I’ve been out on it!
A throttle body controls the amount of air that enters the engine's combustion chamber, so with mine malfunctioning it would explain why the engine was not idling correctly. Thank you for watching!
Just ordered one and will be here in a couple of weeks. No packages! Did order with door edge protectors, mud guards, body side molding , carpeted floor mats & window tint. Mag gray. By the way the Advanced Tech package gives you the foot activated lift gate. Thanks for your opinion.
Enjoy your new car! I think you’ll love it! I’m not even a big Toyota fan and I really enjoyed my time in this car, the limited trim gives the whole car such a great feel! I liked the metallic grey myself, I think that’s the color I’d order it in. Thank you for the info on the packages and thank you for watching, enjoy your new ride when it comes in!
I wouldn’t take the Ford ST over a Traverse RS even if you bought the Ford _for_ me. You’re surprised a RS trim has gloss black? Do you know what “RS” stands for? It’s the sporty trim that’s also the top trim. The Traverse also looks and feels $5,000 more expensive than an Explorer. I don’t want the Ford V6, nobody is shopping in this segment of vehicle prioritizing on which is the fastest. Comparing Explorer and Traverse to a Lamborghini 0-60 time. What is this guy smoking? 😩🙄
Understood that the RS is the top trim, but for this money and it being a sporty-minded SUV, we should really see some performance upgrades under the hood. I don’t think there’s an excuse not to at this price point. The Traverse quality inside is good, better than the Explorer ST as I mentioned, but I wouldn’t say it warrants a $5,000 price gap. Also, I wouldn’t say nobody shopping in this segment cares about which SUV is the fastest, I think there do have to be some people out there shopping in this segment, that want a quick SUV. Lastly, I think most people will understand I am not directly comparing the 0-60 of a Lamborghini to SUV’s. That metric was merely brought up to illustrate how quick the Explorer ST is compared to the Traverse. As mentioned in the video, I am not calling the Traverse slow, but just trying to show viewers what they can expect as far as performance is concerned out of either SUV, and as RU-vidrs, sometimes the easiest metric to convey that to the viewer is 0-60 times. Thank you for watching!
@@CEALLIFORNIA The only reason to choose a RWD Ford Explorer ST or Dodge Durango over a Traverse is because they’re sportier. Chevy Traverse boasts superior build quality, more upscale design, and better executed technology making it the more premium offering hence the pricing. Perhaps you’re not familiar with the Chevrolet brand. “RS” doesn’t signify any performance upgrade it’s merely a *sport appearance package* no different from “S-line” at Audi. High performance Chevrolets are marked with the “SS” moniker. Chevy customers know “RS” doesn’t mean they’ve swapped the base engine out for a V8. Most buyers know the differences are mostly cosmetic and pertains to interior materials and amenities.
@@G-Rated will agree 100% that the build quality is better, as I said in the interior clip. The UX is right on par with Ford’s and the UX is miles better than what’s in the Durango. Lastly, I know not everyone knows quite as much as you or I about Chevy or the auto industry as a whole, so I try to make these reviews very digestible for someone who isn’t a car buff like you or I, I just wanted to let them know that they shouldn’t expect a leg up on performance just because they’re buying a sporty looking Traverse. I want to make sure they know what the vehicle is about before heading to the dealer.
@@CEALLIFORNIA fair enough, just wanted to make sure you understand what ‘RS’ is and the difference between it and an actual high performance Chevy. I think you’re doing a good job hitting the main points of these vehicles and the lengths of your videos. Keep going!
@@G-Rated Thank you very much man, I’m happy to have you as a subscriber! I would love to see a V6 in this Traverse but I know that’ll never happen. The RS Blazer with the 3.6L is a bundle of fun, I’d take the RS Blazer over the Ford Edge ST any day. Thanks again for watching brother!
Turbo engines The majority of the driving public do not know enough about engines, turbos, cubic inches, torque and horsepower to care. Just like and air compressor, the higher the pressure you run it the shorter the life of the pump, a car engine is a pump. Turbo's pressurize the engine to falsely make it put out more power. The 4 cylinders lose power as they get more miles on them, there is no substitute for cubic inches, horsepower and torque. I have built engines and turb's boost the pressure into the small engines creating more power at the expense of the life of the engine. Your maintenance cost will exponentially increase with a turbo when it fails. Any economy you may have gotten from the turbo will be totally lost on the replacement cost of the turbo. This vehicle is way too large/heavy for a 4 cylinder. A long list of gadgets will not negate the lack of power from a 4 cylinder, not to mention the turbo lag when you need all the power from the small 4 cylinder. Gm has lost this customer.
I totally am on your side, I only mentioned that because the amount of people buying SUV’s that don’t have kids is crazy these days. 😂 Thank you for watching!
Very cool, I love it! Carrying on the legacy, bonus points if you can lock down the same license plate number they had on theirs. Good luck on the purchase and thank you for watching!
Thank you for watching my 2024 Chevy Traverse RS review! If you have any questions I didn't answer, or wanted my opinion on something specific on this new Traverse, comment below so I can reply. Thanks again for watching, I'll see you on my next video!
It is 19.4 gallons for certain models of the Traverse, and the MPG rating is on the window sticker at the beginning in case you’re also curious about how the MPG is. Thank you for watching my review!
@juliofeliz9663 This was info I got off of a dealer’s website, my apologies, I thought the info would’ve been correct. Thank you for the info and thank you for watching!
I mean I’m not saying it’s sports car levels of fun to drive, certainly not, but it is more fun to drive than some Toyotas/Hondas in the same class is more so what I was getting at. The 4-cylinder in the Corolla goes nowhere fast compared to this. I will say, it is surprisingly fun to drive for the “economy car” that it is. Thank you for watching!
We were interested in the Traverse but not with a turbo 4 cylinder, V6 only for a vehicle this heavy. Turbo say the engine is too small so they pressurize the small engine to make it seem like it has more power. GM can't leave well enough alone. Lost this customer.
It does move it pretty well, but I am on your side. I still want the V6 as at least an option. Even if I have to drop a few grand for it, please just make it an option! Thank you for watching!
Great review. I am looking at a new Limited model to replace my 2013. I want one before they are available in Hybrid only. Here is my question. To get the panoramic view monitor I have to purchase not one but 2 packages at a cost of almost $2,000! I don't care for all the other options in the packages, just the panoramic view monitor. Is it worth it? I've never had it. (my other 2 Toyotas don't have it). Thanks for your time.
I mean for me, I’m definitely more old school, so if I had it I probably wouldn’t use it. I just use my mirrors and then the backup camera to get edged up to the curb. I think if I stare at the cameras too long it might cause an accident 😂 So for me I wouldn’t get it, I would get it without the packages like you’re saying and save a little money. Thank you for watching!
I have a 2020 2.7 with 72000 miles. So far the Emission Canister Purge Pump went out. GM covers the part but its on back order. Ive also notice the transmission kicking a little hard in the morning. Im not worried about the engine. It feels soild for now.
Thank you for letting me know I’m not the only one with a little transmission kick! What did the truck start doing when that part went bad? I just want to know in case it happens to mine. I’m at 50k now. Thank you for watching!
Why do you keep calling it work truck? It is a truck, the way trucks should be made. I find it so funny that trucks have turned into luxury vehicles. Personally I would rather not like to dump my boat into the lake and get into a carpeted truck.
I only refer to it as such because that’s what most people refer to trucks that look like this one as. I totally agree, this truck hits the nail on the head for what a truck should be. Thank you for watching!
Dealers are now beginning to realize that the Frontier is about the only new mid-size truck with a naturally aspirated V-6 engine. I am Toyota guy but for many reasons I am now also a Nissan Frontier owner. LOVE it.
I believe that the lean back that you're mentioning in the rear seat is because the seat back reclines check and see if there's an adjustment on the corner
The transmission and engine still do the same thing even if you wait the 2 minutes/let the rpm’s settle. You’re going to have to drive a 2.7L to know what I’m talking about, as other owners have said they have also experienced it. Thank you for watching!
First off, you can't find any of those base base models if your life depended on it, so those starting prices are a useless reference as not even YOU could get one for the video. And 40k OTD for a midsize v6 truck is ridiculous, cheap my arse.
You can find them if you go on a national goose chase, or you happen to get lucky and your local dealer gets one in. Unfortunately, most are going to be found with packages like this one like you said. But the base-base ones can be found, with a lot work of course. Thank you for watching!
Sissies drive crew cabs with short beds, so they won’t need to plug in a saw or any tool that could hurt their soft hands. Ford management has steered the country off of the rails with these twinky trucks. I saw a really dumb version of this truck without a trailer hitch. Proof that this is a girly mans toy twuck.
It definitely isn’t a big back seat. The mid-size truck that has the roomiest back seat that I’ve tested was the Honda Ridgeline. But if you’re looking to stick with Nissan, the crew cab would be best for kids that are still growing. Thank you for watching!
It is big money, but this truck does have a serious cool factor in person. Very angular on the outside and an insane interior to top it all off. Thank you for watching!
I only payed a thousand dollars more for my 4x4 Colorado Trail Boss than this 2 wheel drive, plus I got damped TG with storage in TG like that one, I got factory sprayed bed liner, power seat, tow package , sliding rear window , same HP and 430# torque , I got red front tow hooks too! 41,100
You got a pretty sweet deal and in my opinion the Colorado Trail Boss stands out a little more than this one does. This one blends in a little more, and the Colorado TB has more flair, I like it’s styling. Thank you for watching, enjoy your new ride!
The AT4 has some sweet looking wheels too! I love the look of it. I saw a blue AT4 on the lot when I went to shoot my Canyon review and it was very sharp looking. Enjoy your new ride, thank you for watching!
Changes: regular cab 6' bed, manual trans, locking tailgate, remote adjustable mirrors. Contractors may have different people driving, the remote adjustable mirrors are a safety item. Also, we put stuff in the bed, and have either a cap or tonneau. Make the locking tailgate std.
I think a power locking tailgate and power side mirrors, and the things you mentioned, would make this the ultimate work truck too! Thank you for watching!
