I apologize everyone! It has been quite some time since I’ve been in a Lexus! 😂 The Lexus door handle is an ELECTRONIC door handle that you push in on and the door simply pops open after pushing that handle in. The option to pull the handle towards you, is only for emergency situations like a dead battery etc. where the strictly mechanical release would be needed. My apologies again!

I did mistake how this door handle functioned at first, but I agree in an accident, this is a small door handle to have to grab. Especially if your hand is injured.

We pick up our TX next week. The door handle issue you mentioned isn’t actually correct. That’s the manual override in case of a dead battery. When you put your hand on the door, your thumb naturally rests over the handle you and press it IN - you don’t pull it. It’s an electronic door release. The button on the trunk is not to “lock it open” either. That button shuts the trunk AND locks the car so you can walk away knowing your car is locked as opposed to shutting the trunk and then manually having to lock the car

My apologies, I did correct my door handle comment with a pinned comment in the comments section and I do apologize again, it’s been quite some time since I had been in a Lexus so that was new to me. As for the trunk button, that is cool to know and I’m gonna keep it in mind for future Lexus reviews, although I think they should take me idea into consideration. Just did some research and I hope I’m correct, but MotorTrend around the time the TX released, said that you have to step up to the “Premium” trim level to get the memory seats and at that trim level you automatically get ventilated seats I believe. Thank you for watching Rob!

I looked at the TX and GH. The TX was not that different from GH to justify the price difference. I ended up buying a GH. May be Lexus needs a little more time to make the distinction more apparent.

How is the sizing once you’re in the GX? I have yet to be in one yet. I’m guessing the driver position is a little higher up than the TX?

@@CEALLIFORNIA I felt like they (TX & GH) were identical cars. I like my GH. It’s really nice and big. The ride is smooth. Palisades is another option. Its interior is more luxurious for the money but I don’t trust the Hyundai brand yet for reliability. The dealer gave me a $1,000 off msrp on the GH also. I recommend GH.

@@Ohioman111 I think you made a great choice. It’ll hold value much better than the Palisade. I do like the Palisade too and think Hyundai did a great job with it. But if I had the choice, I’m going Lexus! Good pick!

Agree, Lexus should have kept the 3.5L V6 for the TX, which would have been logical upgrade for Lexus nameplate. But they did not do that, so Grand Highlander is the smart choice now.

@@ag4eng Yeah I do find it a bit odd as well that the Lexus, the luxury nameplate, wouldn't be offering the more robust power plant.
