Thank you for all you do for Reptile Keepers and Breeders. I am from Connecticut where Reticulated Pythons are banned. They do not consider a Dwarf different from a Mainland Retic. I have 2 Burmese Pythons whom I love. I have a Silver Membership in USARK to keep my variety of snakes safe.
I feel your pain living in Connecticut I actually keep Burmese pythons as well. Luckily, they are my favorite large snake to begin with, but I do wish I could have a reticulated python as well. I used to until I had to rehome them when they passed the law. Gotta be going on 1415 years now.
So question I looked into fish and wildlife and they say it's ok to have certain reptiles in the state of Wyoming but according to other regulations of Wyoming they are saying permit is required for all cold blood wildlife so what does that mean for me as a reptile owner, can I not have them or can I have them? I seen many local pet shops sell reptiles just fine and there are 3 of 4 reptile shops all over the state, Im just really need help understanding what the hell is going on
I don't mean to be overdramatic but i would probably choose not to live if this passed. I'm autistic and connecting and caring for animals is what gives my life value and meaning. I've never been happier over something failing! I don't own reptiles, but all us exotic keepers need to stick together.
Another Washingtonian here. Done and dusted. Thank you for making the process of opposing a bill so simple; I am truly grateful for all the hard work you guys have put into this. See you at the show.
For these local and state issues, it is most important for residents and constituents to contact the legislators. If you know anyone in Washington, please let them know!
These bills are driven by animal rights groups trying to remove all animals from our lives, including pets. They lobby legislators, mislead them, and tell them that it will prevent animal cruelty in circuses. Animal cruelty laws already exist and this is just another step on their agenda.
What are the bill sponsors saying the reason for the ban is?? It seems idiotic. How do you expect people to care about things they dont know, see, or experience?

There is no logic. This is one of the pieces of legislation written by and lobbied by animal rights groups. These are groups working to remove all animals from our lives, like PeTA. The problem is that there are hundreds of these groups and they bring in hundreds of millions of dollars annually through misleading fundraising and use that money to push bans like this.
I'm very thankful for USARK with giving all of us this important information on our rights as pet owners and keepers. I will continue to donate and try to help spread the word on all these state initiatives and bills.
Some think it’s crazy, but my Burmese pythons really are the only thing that keep me going getting out of bed is hard for me daily life’s just depressing for me. I keep them responsibly I have 4 because they consume my life which is a healthy thing for me it honestly keeps me out of my head I honestly wouldn’t want to be here without my animals I just don’t love myself and loving them keeps me going.
As a psychologist and USARK Florida member, I recognize how important companion animals are to our lives. It doesn't matter if your friend has scales or fur, there is a relationship and emotional bond. I dispute the assumption that "reptilian brains" are incapable of emotional experiences and bonding. We need to continue to educate the public about reptiles and change the inaccurate negative perceptions people have.
Thank you Ron and Phil for another great video. 👏🏻 I'm with you Ron. Every time I see bull dozens churning up an entire field, or see a huge chunk of woods cut down, I am saddened at the thought of which animals were in the line of fire. 🥺 How many nests were destroyed? How many burrows were caved in?
Great video, Phil! It was cool to learn a little about your background. I bet people would like to learn even more about you and what you do for USARK 👏🏻 hello from the Boaphile’s daughter! Lol 😂
Thank you, as always, for keeping us informed about these bans. If I lived in Illinois I would quickly sign in opposition to the proposed bill. If folks were actually interested in benefiting animals, they should allow the herp community to show what responsible and ethical ownership looks like, and we gladly would (and do). Outreach by reptile owners and caretakers is so amazing, and it even encourages kids and families to be more willing to care and protect species. Additionally, compared to so many other communities, the herp community and its reptile shows are some of the most welcoming, informative, and positive out there--something our world needs more of.
It's quite obvious why Governor DeSantis doesn't want to have anything to do with this especially as he is running for president of the United States? His silence speaks volume and I'm not sure why you would give your opposing political party the ammunition to show how inhumane you really are. Why is someone who's running for president of the United States not willing to stand up and put it into this cruel agenda against animals.
