You ask the question: "Is it a future classic?" No! It's already a classic!! All your observations and emotions resonate with me too. I have a 2012 Carrera GTS. Whether daily commutes or long distance touring it lights a fire within.
I have Porsche 20mm spacers and longer studs on the rear of my 79' Targa and 32mm spacers on the rear of my 82' Coupe. Dansk Sport Muffler on the 82' and custom stainless set-up on my Targa.
Did you ever put a car seat in the car? If so, what kind of car seat? I’m getting my 3.2 soon and part of the deal was this is a going to be partially used for a family cruiser 😂
From what I know, our debt dies with us. But please don't use that as an option. Your family and friends need you more than they need money. Please reach out to me if you need to talk to somebody.
Just found you and subscribed right away. Enjoy the time with your dad when you can, like in this video. FOUR BOYS!! Thanks for making me smile. Your dad reminds me a bit of my dad. I'm guessing he's an engineer? Now I get to tell ;) I bought my 1st 1990 964 in 1996. It had 18,000 miles and I was able to afford the $37,900 price tag ($66K on the sticker). Like many homeowners say, "I don't know if I could afford it now" Your dad's car reminds me of an Oak Green 964 that I missed out on, in around the same time. I can't wait to see the rest of your videos! Great Job!! I got my love for German cars visiting my Mother's side in Bremen Germany. I have a feeling you have a "Germany Connection" somewhere? ;)

I'm definitely a motor head and old Porsche guy, and my wife is a Porsche girl. When I first met her, she had an early '66 911 Coupe. We've had many coupes and targas over the last 30 years together, including her '71 911E Coupe that I traded a military guy two vintage surfboards for! We have kept only my 1976 911S Targa in Peru Red and her 1982 911S Targa in Pacific Blue. We love Targas and never listen to the snobs who down Targas. Driving them is more fun than coupes, especially where we live in Hawaii. I love all 911's, but especially like my Targas because they rile the purists. I also like my 911's original paint, street worn and driven. I liked your video and agree about Targa's. Aloha from a Porsche guy who loves the topless option.
Very cool video my man! Enjoy your car and dont listen to the haters. Who cares whether you have your airpods in or rascals calling you out for having a targa…
Did you ever do the brake fluid repositioning in the frunk to enable the Targa top to be stored unfolded? Looking for any guidance to be able to do this! It is potentially a game changer!!!!
I didn't do that yet but I want to. I do have some guidance from another Porsche guy. DM me on Instagram and I'll send you what he sent me. @drkylestanley
Great video. You guys local to SoCal? Im in OC. Would love to grab coffee with you guys sometime and chat porsches! Or maybe meet up at a cars and coffee. You guys going to be at Air / Water this weekend?
Nobody says they enjoy the 915 over the G50 in N/A cars, but it’s def not worth the money to upgrade from an already good trans. Spacers sound tempting, but don’t cheap out on wheels and tires just sacrifice that $300 key. It makes a huge difference and that thick tire definitely makes the car hug turns better. If you do some horsepower upgrades like exhaust/chip/or some more I’d also look into the turbo brakes, not necessarily a must, but I like the balance and you can have a good OEM mod. A/C is an uphill battle, mine went up in smoke 3 years ago and I’m just happy my sunroof still works.
Good list of things. I've done pretty much everything on your list to my 84 and then some. I would suggest just adjustable spring plates for the rear so you can lower it and corner balance super easily. I personally like my two sets of 17" wheels. I have CCW and RUF reps, don't really care for Fuchs. My car is probably way more track oriented than you would ever do, but it wins me races :P Oh and if you go with new torsion bars I'd probably recommend 22/28 or so. I run 23/30 and it's extra stiff. I've thought about putting content on youtube and showing the world my cool stuff.... maybe one day. Oh and I've had my 911 for about 20 years now (same exact car)
Great Video! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking into a 997.2 C2S PDK. Have you had any issues with the PDK? Any recommendations for maintenance on the PDK? Starting to hear some rumblings regarding PDK issues especially with high mileage Porsches. Would love to hear your experience and get your insight. Thanks in advance!
Hi Kyle and Derek, cool video! I was wondering what does the kid car seat situation look like? I have the exact same car and I want to take my kid on rides but need to figure out which car seat fits the back seat and is compatible with the 1970’s seat belt. Thanks!
I prefer to still use a cementless solution either using two non-engaging or one engaging and one non-engaging. You can also use multiunit abutments or some of the new transmucosal abutments that some implant systems have. Either way, I ALWAYS avoid cement. 80% of implants with periiplantitis have cement excess.
@Dr. Kyle Stanley. Great video. I’m 99% sure this was my fathers car. He bought it new and sold it with about 35k miles on it for a gt3. What a great car it was and great spec. How long have you owned the car? Glad to see it’s well taken care of.
No way!! That would be awesome if it was. I’d love to know more about your dad and his experience. I bought it in 2014 from Beverly Hills Porsche. If you’re on Instagram, please DM me @drkylestanley
Hello Doc, I’m Joe from Ventura, CA. You have a beautiful car. I have a 1984 Targa 👍🏼. Where did you get your Fuchs rims redone and how much did it cost. They look amazing!
Thanks! I paid $1500 for my wheels, handles, wipers, and targa bar to be painted. It was done by Jim East Auto Body in Orange CA. He is highly respected in the Porsche community and highly recommended. It made a huge difference for the looks of my car.
I have the same 1990 Forest Green Metallic that I got from Japan. I like the color so much -- I got a 2022 GT3 Touring in the same PTS Forest Green Metallic.
Nice car but I did not like the presentator. I was expecting more facts, less opinions. And having airpods on erars- why? Are you listening the music while presenring?
Sorry this was an older video and I thought the airpods would help my sounds. I have since learned that it doesn't so you won't see newer videos with airpods. I'm not a professional youtuber. Just an enthusiast who likes my Porsches. I record these on my phone and edit everything myself. Thanks for watching anyways.
