Spent so much time playing this..loved the gear changing with the clutch pedal. Does anyone know what the track to the left was for ....just past the start line.
I played this in a gas station somewhere in the US sometime between 1987 and 1995. I had no idea what game it was. Thank you for this 🙂 Now to find an emulator...
Robotron was my favorite game by far. I could play through hundreds of waves, as could 2 friends. We had epic battles. Once while I was playing the game at a pizzeria, I noticed there was water on the floor where I was standing, but I couldn't figure out where it was coming from because you can't pause the game, and it's too intense at higher waves to take your eyes off the screen. The water was getting worse, to the point where my running shoes were soakers. When I eventually lost my last man, I was standing in a puddle of water. WTF?? Turns out it was _my own sweat._ I was sweating so much it was pouring down my legs into my shoes as well as onto the floor. That's never happened to me before or since. That's how intense this game can get at higher waves. The grunt waves become solid masses that don't seem to shrink as you shoot them constantly while they chase you around the screen for what seems like minutes.
My friends and I pumped endless quartes into this game! . This came out about 4 years before I got my license. I couldn’t drive it manual . I always wanted to revisit the game after I leaned to drive stick with my first truck…by 1994 it was long gone from our arcade…
two tokens at showbiz pizza, i can imagine only a select few locations featured this cabinet. it's too bad chuck e cheese has moved away from video game entertainment and now features some mundane hands on games like flappy bird and finger maze.. bring back centipede and jet ski!!!
Ahhh the most nostalgic feeling once you hear the engine revving before you take off gives me chills to this day 🥲😮💨😮💨 such a masterpiece of an arcade racer really made you feel you were in the game love it!
The Memory’s APB brings back !!! I played this at my local Skating Rink in the 90s was my favorite game there. The only other game I dropped a bazillion quarters in was TMNT
I remember that when my family visited some relatives in Virginia in the early 90s, we went to a Cracker Barrel for breakfast before heading home, and this arcade cabinet was in the entrance. I played it briefly, and I remember after completing a lap, the map changed to driving on the right side of a train track that perpetually curved on a soft left, with banditos on the roof throwing sticks of dynamite down that you had to slalom through while taking the left curve. I almost completed the lap on that before a stick hit the car and ended my run.
