Because you start flying on every other street in this city :) but that's why we love it. In Marin County however you gotta watch out for the sharp curves
Ahhh the most nostalgic feeling once you hear the engine revving before you take off gives me chills to this day 🥲😮💨😮💨 such a masterpiece of an arcade racer really made you feel you were in the game love it!
If you listen closely, when the player drives past a crowd of race fans, you hear a commentary broadcast (even mentioning production team members!). It really stresses the point that this is an official racing tournament. Now I'm starting to wish that Midway'd put that in the home ports; probably be the only arcade-style racer without an obnoxious announcer. Oh well, that's life...
0:25 there's ad's for other Atari gamws, Mace The Dark Age, Wayne Gretzky's 3D hockey, Maximum Force, Freeze and Primal Rage II latter two games were never made but prototypes exist
Awwww, you cut out the best part! _What's yo name??_ _Wh-wh-wh-wh-what!!_ _Start with G,_ _Start with C,_ _Start with Z!_ _Nothin' nasty now!_ _Wh-wh-wh-wh-wh-wh-wh-WHAAAT'S YO NAAAAAME?!_ _SPELL IT!_
Yea the ps1 version is a joke even though I never played it I've only seen gameplay of it and I was never a fan of that version I personally like the arcade version of the game
@@TheDarkwingj PS1 was far too weak to properly handle this game. It used state of the art graphics accelerator at the time AND PS1 was missing an onboard math processor that would allow to to handle the physics properly. Devs for Ps1 port hand to come up with a brand new custom physics engine. This game was destined to land on the N64 and be successful. N64 had the necessary guts to mimic the arcade and it already proved could do fog and blurry textures well lol.
@@boxMAN29 I'm thinking it's probably the PC version (which was said to be near arcade perfect) - I find it very hard to believe he was running the arcade version in MAME in 2010 at that speed/with very few glitches. 3D arcade hardware emulation in mame, particularly 3DFX-based is notoriously glitchy/slow, even today, it's something they're still working on.
@@boxMAN29 Other than (Arcade) in the title, we only have his word, he never brings up the MAME interface etc. and the video is pretty blurry so it's harder to tell.
