Hope you're doing well. I enjoyed hearing about the fun you're having with the 'Stang. My '86 GT pulls really hard down low, but runs out of breath before 6K with the stock A6 heads. So I too have lower shift points.
@fifteen8 Ahh the one year only E6 heads. Yeah they didn't flow very well. But hey it's fun playing with this car the way i do. Since it's not your typical foxbody. This compared to your car it's a lot lighter.
@JimmyWhite-ik3wn A wrx is designed to be a track car much more than my plucky straight 6 foxbody. Also i was 2 seconds slower than a coyote powered s197 mustang gt.
back in 1980 i got a job and they were renting cars from a ford dealer in financial trouble . so they turned inventory quickly that we had new cars often it was either a 79 or 80 in winter of 80 had a mustang really nice car except with factory tires in even light snow . but driving it couple days when i had time to look it over and was surprised it was the 6 cyl, unfortunately not long the dealer called on a fri bring all 20 cars back were bankrupt, and co refused we kept them for week so they went to chevy dealer bought most of the dealers inventory of 80 malibu 6 , i think 3 typs of v8 2d 4d 2 sw we wanted more wagons but 2 was all he had . great cars a high 7500.00 sticker average but not mustangs
Thats cool that you taking the time to break it down my buddy loves fox bodys he had 2 fast ones i have a challenger but its my daily really great car no issues but ive owned nothing but prelude's and i have an itch need to scrach
you should always put gear shifter into 2nd gear BEFORE you try to put it in reverse gear. I have a T5 WC in my '64 Chevelle El Co. 1st and Reverse are on the same cog in transmission. same for most 4psds also.
@exin7778 okay? That's not really a flex. This is a basic straight 6 mustang with mods yes but it's not a fast car. I just happen to be a very good driver and came very close to matching much faster cars lap times.
@exin7778 My car is a 200 ci inline 6. The engine was never designed for performance. Nor was my particular car when new. An m3 is obviously designed to be a performance vehicle. My engine initially was designed to he in farm equipment.
@@KatarinasGarage True Those old Fords had great motors, don't tell anyone but I'm low key feeling Those new Mustangs especially The Darkhorse, but shhh. Lol
Fun review, I hope the Imperial finds a good home. In 1966 I was nine years old and lived in a town with a GM assembly plant. I didn’t see a Chrysler until after I graduated high school.
Some real good head work... Will wake that 200 up ,,I had a 70 model Falcon wagon with a 200 cubic inch engine.9" rear end and done the carb, custom intake,,, custom built header 3* exhaust and it would embarrass some the V8 guys pick ups mostly 😎 oh I ran a c4 with a stall woke it up but your 5 speed is the ticket... Good stuff by the way...
You should Ford Barra swap the capri it and boost it. weld your torque boxes though and honestly you wouldn't need or even really want more power than that. the Barra i6 can produce upwards of 1k HP without much modification you can even buy prebuilt and crated Barra which produces big numbers too and is under 4L. I am sure there is a bellhousing and K member for the swap as well.
Cool car, I myself is a fan of the ‘68-‘70 Charger like a lot folks, the these ‘66/‘67s have been growing on me, I always love the body-width tail light, I think it’s call Heckblende in Europe, anyway, thanks for showing & taking us for a spin, catch you on the next one.😊
@KatarinasGarage I own a 05 ram srt10 six speed with 4.56 rear drive. With the 22 inch wheel which may be a factor? But anyway at 75 it runs 1,700 rpms no issues. The final drive on the t56 is I believe is a .60 you won't have any drivabilty issues👍
@LeachimSagrav333 the size of your wheel is irrelevant. It is the total height of your tire. 3.55s for my car is just the way to go as it is. With 4.56s basically my gears would be just about useless even with a t56.
