This is so strange, I just purchased a 2019 with 4k miles and when I took the wheel off I noticed the play in the sprocket. When riding there is an audible clunk on and off throttle, I can feel the damn thing shifting. Did you fix the problem?
I changed the rubber bushes and it was much better. I saw a trick to just cut a thin rubber hose (I.e bicycle tire hose) and wrap around each of the bushes but decided not to do that. The Cush drive was relatively inexpensive, replacing it is a cheap fix.
I know you've now moved on from this bike. However do you think it really matters if you bottom out. The reason I ask this is because there's a lot of cheaper bikes that don't have any adjustability in the front forks and minimal in the rear some only having preload, now with that surely this means a lot of these bikes definitely bottom out. So my question is it that import to fix? because if you bought a cheaper bike you wouldn't have that adjustment anyways and most likely would be bottoming out. So why buy an expensive bike that you can adjust these thing to then be too heavy for the oem spring set up. Also I feel like this information should be shown or easily accessible as I deem it rather important.
Hi, I found this video really good 👍 so much so I have copied what you have done with the RR headers but put a different end can on & not connected up the exhaust butterfly valve. Sounds great. Thanks for the inspiration.
So is it fair to say with stock exhaust with value disconnected to stay open will make the bike louder, so could this be an option instead of getting a slip on. Just disconnect value on stock system?
The rear valve is semi-closed under 4000rpm and fully open above 4000. You would get a louder bike at low speeds but no change at higher speeds/rpm. Also the valve is splingloaded closed so you would have to fix it open, not sure if the servo will throw a fault code if disconnect the wire and it sees no load, electrically disconnecting it will. But there are modules for that, think they are called "servo buddy" or something.
@@512460 not sure when BMW changed the frame on the bikes. Should be interchangeable from the first RR and R at least up to 2019. Probably best to check out Constands website to be sure.
Have you got the semi active with manual preload if you have wind preload a turn in tighter , preload is a necessity for weight and rebound and compression are subjective to how you ride 👍🏼👌🏼
...these are nor not haipins !!!!...just bends on the road !!!! If you wanna try real hairpins either going up or down...you have to try the Stelvio pass (or the Zoncolan pass)...in Italy !!!!..and you will see the differences !!!....AHAHAHAH
Hi, The spring with the lesser number of coils is the stiffer spring. Given the spring materials are roughly the same then the length of the spring coils is about 20% shorter you will have a spring the is about 20% stiffer. A coil spring is the same as a torsion bar that has been wound into a coil. Image a torsion bar say 150mm long. Try to twist it will be hard to do. Imagine now that the torsion bar is 150m long. you can easily twist that using the same force as the 150mm bar. The longer is the softer spring
I doubt that. This fixed a lot of different unrelated issues that showed up at the same time. You problem is either a wheel speed sensor or a sensor on the ABS unit itself. A shop might be able to read a fault code for you.
Sorry but I don’t remember, sold the bike 1,5 ago so I can’t check. The size is the same between the bikes, it’s just the angle of the outlet pipe that is different.
Yes, quite a lot louder, the S1000R has a big Catalytic converter in the big bulky box. The S1000RR of those particular years, has a small catalytic converter in the header pipes, and anther one in the slip-on muffler. Doing this mod is essentially a partial de-cat. I never measured the sound, but probably 2-3 times louder than stock, but that would depend on your slip-on as well.
It's a stunner. Never sell it. I've sold cars I'd wished I didn't. You can never get them back. Because they keep going up in value. Out of my reach now. Happy driving and thanks for the reply
@@robertyoung76 Thanks. Problem is that you run out of room :) I have 3 cars now. The 850, an -14 M5 Competition pack, one of only 14 made in Imola red. As a daily driver an i3s electric. The 8 is increasing in value, so that is mainly why I dont want to sell it, but I might have to bite the bullet and rent a storage place for it, 3 cars and a bike in my garage make it so crowded that I cant work on any of them without having to park one outside while working on one.
it's not a ride by wire like the BMW , it's a cable connection without electronic filters ... you are just doing some command "mistakes" with the throttle I think.
M7rr en 120 av et 190 ar monté sur s1000rr, tester sur route, longévité bien supérieure au Pirelli diablo rosso 3, 3000 à 3500 km pour les m7rr contre 2500 km pour les rosso. J'ai aussi testé les dunlop s22r qui ont un meilleur grip que les 2 cité ci dessus mais bien sur au détriment de la longévité 2000 km. En résumé je n'ai pas trop aimé le m7rr car il manque de grip comparé au s22r qui sont pourtant dans la même catégorie, manque de grip également pour le rosso 3. Test des 3 marques à la même période de l'année et avec les mêmes pressions 2.5 av et 2.9 ar, meme en baissant la pression sur l'arrière a 2.5 sur le m7rr le grip n'est pas vraiment meilleur.
Just bought today the 15/16 RR headers to install together with stock R silencer (with mods ofcourse to fit correctly). So I can expect it to be too loud or? And tuning of a map should be needed or can leave it stock? Thanx.

850bimmer. I know its old wideo, but I have question. I have s1000R and did exactly the same like You in this movie. Sound is cool, just I have one problem with back pressure. Bike in normal ride without acceleration starts wobbling and has no power. The db killer solved the problem in Your bike? Please answer. Thanks
Hi. I dont have the bike anymore, I did about 2000km on this setup with a stock tune, then I had the bike tuned and did 1500-2000km. Never installed a db-killer. I know the new owner has done 8000 problem free km on the bike. Never had the issue you mentioned, have you considered a tune, I.e power commander or Bazzaz. I had Bazzaz and a custom tune done on a dyno.
plenty of km left.. i did 11000km with metzeler rennsport but at the end i could see the steel mesh of the tire lol edit: i ride a monster 695 and i live in italy
