I have a stock BMW black touring screen too, but one thing I like about the clear one is that is not so visible. I find the smoked/black ones are very visible. For now I prefer the clear one. Good thing we all have different tase, would be a shame if all made their bikes look the same. Happy modding.
Ryan Lamey I went to a local show that do vinyl wraps on cars, like company logos and full wrap. They happened to have some leftover pieces in a couple of shades of red, and we picked the one that matched the color of the bike. I got the pieces for free.
Its a 3M Scotchcal series 80 wrap, color code is 80-176 Geranium Red. Like I said, I got some leftover sheets, and made my own templates out of thin cardboard, cut the vinyl and installed it myself. It was pretty much just a project to see if I was able to do it. It's held up very well too, no issues at all and I have repeatedly washed the bike with my pressure washer and hot water, and I have used strong degreasers, still looks like the day I put it on, which was September 2016, 13 months ago.
No problem, happy to help. Yes, I agree it does help to "balance" the color of the bike, and that is why I did it. The new -17 come with a red front mud guard, which also look out of place, on that I would have done the same with black vinyl.
Fairing, you mean the windscreen? that is from Wunderlich, sport version I believe. Rest is stock. It’s been two years since I sold the bike, but I believe the leavers were by V-trec, no issues with cruise control.
@@AlanTrades it’s quite different. It’s lower (good for me as I’m short) heavier and longer. Not as nimble, and being a twin it has much more low end torque and a more evenly distributed power band, but it only revs to 10.000. Still the same peak hp as the s1kr though. It’s not as scary as the s1kr, the 9000rpm boost on the s1kr is scary/fun, the Diavel starts to lose power around 8-8500rpm. It’s a bit more of a cruiser, more comfortable but with all that low end power it’s still a fun ride. Handles great but takes a bit more effort to throw around.
It's a Constands, yeah, been very happy with it the past two years. Done things like cleaning the bike, excellent for chain maintenance, used it for a rear shock replacement and exhaust replacement, so yeah, very happy with it.
