Hello Horse Racing Fans, my name is Nathan and this is my horse racing channel. It'll be where I upload all about horse racing whether that's talking about horse racing history or showing and talking about the newest in horse racing. But i'm not just a youtuber. I am a college student majoring in the sport of horse racing and an aspiring Horse Racing Announcer. Currently i've called multiple times at Rillito Park and Turf Paradise. But no matter what i'll always try to provide the internet with racing based entertainment.

Something I have never seen mentioned in this comparison before that I think is extremely telling - the entire crop of foals the year Man 'O War was born was only about 1640 horses. Literally, he had relatively little competition. Secretariat was foaled in a year with over 27,000 other thoroughbreds. In over 50 years since then, over 1.5 million thoroughbreds have had a shot at Secretariat's records. His triple crown records still stand.
Good points. But it wasn't that Zenyatta won, it was how she won. You have $ on her nose and she is way back at the head of the stretch. She starts firing, and you experience the best of racing (better than being on a wire to wire31 length winner). And she fired every time!
LOL . Secretariat lost 5 times. He ABSOLUTELY could lose to Flightline. Not saying Flightline is "better", or had a better overall career, but in a race against each other Big Red would burn a lot of money from casual fanboys like whoever made this short. Flightline could absolutely beat him.
Each quarter on the track time was FASTER then the previous quarter. He was increasing his speed on that long track. FASTER! Secratariat would have smoked Man o war. They were both incredible horses NUFF SAID.
My top race horses. Secretariat. Lady’s Secret. Ruffian. My favourite looking horse who isn’t a racer would be Spotilas, Son of Totilas and Luna af Nyskoven.
The Akahl Teke is the Siamese cat of the horse world. Vastly under rated. A Siamese is a fierce fighter despite the odds and in the face of their 'elegant' bodies. Tough souls that pick a person to love and bond deeply, this is the Akahal too. Elegant and tough, long distance racing they are very very able.. dessert horses at the base, and IMHO I'll take this over the Arabian any day, they are such sensitive souls! Give me a barn of Abyssinian cats (noted for being busy) and Siamese cats (bossy and liking things organized the way THEY like) and Akhal Tekes....
Either some of the video of Man O' War was improperly converted to video, or some of his races were raced clockwise (he has the stands over his left shoulder).
What you're forgetting is that at the Wood Mermorial Big Red was sick off his feed and still ran second. At the Derby he had just gotten over a massive abcess in his mouth and just gotten back on his feed and started to recover and still broke the freaking track record. At the Preakness he literally passed the field in the first corner and ran another track record after recovering from his illness. Then we have the Belmont were he decided that I'm going to destroy them and what they got was 31 lengths of catch me if you can. 😊
1st of all what about Seabiscuit? Also these great horses seemed to come at a time when the nation needed joy and to come together. Maybe we will get another great horse if Trump loses in order to help settle the nation once more
Secretariat & Man O'War are both Militant Names, both had extremely thick Necks revealing size of Heart but Secretariat seemed to be more muscular...why because Bold Ruler & SomethingRoyal had both a similar body habitus & passed it on to Secretariat. If Man O War wins its okay...my bet is with Secretariat & I don't bet.
Riva Ridge gave them some operating capital, but it was Secretariat who saved the farm, Claiborne Farms was in a state of financial unrest in '72 and '73, the triple crown plus a few earlier races all won by Secretariat is what saved the farm not to mention his breeding right, a record at the time. It was Penny that coaxed Lucien out of retirement, it was Penny that scolded Ronnie and relented, she was married to a successful husband and father, her insight, her vision to see her fathers legacy through is the recipe of legend!!
I would say this race would be a 1 length to photo finish regardless if both are healthy. Both horses when engaged would kill themselves to win. Both would set records neither could touch without the extreme competition. The only danger would be are these amazing horses going to die of a heart attack after the race because of their tremendous effort? As a person who enjoys seeing greatness I would love to watch the race, but I would have a bit of worry regarding the horses each time because of what I mentioned earlier.
In the Belmont Secretariat went 23 & change for the 1st quarter then 1:09 & change for 3/4 in a mile & 1/2 race...incredible...even Pegasus couldn't have beat him that day. He broke the record in all of the 1973 Triple Crown races. Man O' War was a nice horse no doubt, a great race horse who produced legendary progeny..but Secretariat was a race phenomenon we'll most likely never see again. 🏇🏆💯
