I agree the inReach is dependable but the Iphone is completely unreliable. I am staying with inReach for the foreseeable future. I am disappointed in the Apple satellite system as it currently works. It doesn’t! Doesn’t work in Australia with data sim only 😪
Recipients don’t have to have IOS 18, but they do have to have an iPhone to communicate with you. Used it extensively in AK and MT; worked great, including in deep canyons. Had to wait a bit longer in AK for a satellite to be in position. Have to initiate a conversation as the individual on satellite. In other words, you won’t receive any texts from individuals you haven’t sent a text to while on satellite. Once you do, you continue to receive texts for 24 hours, but that timeline resets every time you send a new text. Awesome technology, and it’s free.
@@r.2.d.2That may be true. Hopefully the rates will be reasonable. If nothing else, the competition should lower prices across the board. I’ve never purchased an inReach because of what they charge for the subscription (on top of purchasing a device that only has one purpose).
What’s the fit like on the venture top. I’m built more like you. And struggle to find Moreno top that actually fits me right not like a wet suit. Or you connote next and it fits like a rain coat.
I have several pieces from Blackovis, pants, merino hoody, gloves, haven't had any issues with any of them, and the Switchback discount is nice to add on as well!
Honest question from a new hunter and I am actually going to pick up my new sig cross in 308. Is 308 strong enough for bear and anything other than deer? And what do you feel are this guns range limit?
Great info ! I see more and more people running black Ovis ! I’ll definitely have to try some once I need to replace some of my current gear!! Good luck on your hunts coming up !! We’re headed out tomorrow around noon for Colorado to chase Elk and Mule deer!!
