These videos are from a rural NE Ohio DIY'er. You'll find all kinds of repairs and tricks and maybe even just a short commentary on some of my views how it pertains to me personally. I'm a fixer and a love the challenge of problem solving.. Check out my early videos on Mopeds and Take a ride with me on my 54mph moped... Then watch my ole Hot Rod Mercury run down the Quarter mile. Hopefully you'll find something you'll want to try or didn't know before.. Thanks for tuning in..
Dude I almost just replaced the pushrods without checking the guides ! You saved me a headache , I should have known better but .. how do you adjust valve lash ?
I bought a 1980s stand up freezer for $25 on market place its on the small side which is perfect for my tiny house. I dont think the energy savings would make up for the practically free freezer.
I have a 1998 Buick LeSabre Limited and the sub frame on mine is kinda rotting away in the same way, the bolts in that area are holding on but there's a crack running around it that is just barely over half way around,, but on the back of the car there's no rust at all, it's weird, the paint is still visible on the front where it's most rusty, but if it was any other car you'd call that "surface rust"
Hey I got the same engine and I'm trying to pull my alternator out the pivot is seemingly seized and I can't pull the alternator out. Is there a trick to pushing it out or rotating it in a spot to come out?
Great video, Thank you. However the mower that I am working on has sat outside for a few years and I believe the clutch has rusted up and just not working.
I've been given about 10 or so 3.5 to 5 HP B&S engines this year all non-running. Honestly 95% of them needed the gasket between the carb and fuel tank. A super easy and quick fix that makes the machine run like new. This video really helped with getting into working on these engines. 👍
Briggs and Stratton Intek motors have a factory design flaw with the head gaskets, theirs a strip of gasket that doesn't get bolted down in the middle and sucks oil from the valves into the cylinder
Have Briggs and Stratton 16hp ohv has compression 145psi both cylinders has spark check plug to ground has fuel but won’t even pop with starting fluid got me stumped?
Hi, diaphragm on mine seems like yours and when I push on the "big puff" it doesn't come back so is it obviously to replace (as 2 cycles) or it can works like that...??? Tnx for answering someone
My very large 1975 GE freezer is still running strong! Seems like it cost me near nothing to run it because it's always been in a basement and the compressor rarely turns on. 3 years ago, I bought a new replacement for the old one goes so I am not left with nowhere to put my frozen goods, but the old one is still doing well. And on a side note, the old one freezes to 0 degrees, there is no option to change that. The new freezer does not seem to go to zero, again no option to change the temperature. Seems food, especially REAL food (meat/veg) last longer at zero degrees.
This video was a lifesaver, clear and concise. It took me a looooooong time to find one with the same motor that I have in my Craftsman push mower. Thanks a million!
I know this vid is a 100 years old but you never showed how the new head will fix this problem .... What did B+S change on the new head to fix this defect?? Or will the 300$ replacement still have the same problem?? Thanks.
Maybe the computer went into "limp mode" because you ran it without the intake filter during your test? I would just reset the ECM and test it again with all the intake components properly connected.
Video made 2015, just helped me fix my mower in 2024. Bless you and yours, this was by far the easiest and best tutorial I've used (and I've used a lot!).
This is a very good explanation on how the brake assembly & cable work. I forgot the gas tank spacer, thanks for the reminder. You made some really good important information, such as the size of bolts. I know this video is little old, but still a very good video. Thanks for taking the time to make it.👍👍👍
Hi, we have many machine parts and hope we can cooperate with you on video projects. We can provide free products and commission. How can we contact you for more details?
I own a 1997 12.5 / 38" MTD Yard Machine and it's been the best mower I've ever owned ! To say this machine has a flaw is incorrect in my opinion judging on my machine . If the machine is having trouble cutting you should mention all possible reasons . For one , people often let their grass get too high and then try cutting with the deck too low . And they never sharpen or replace the blades . You should also mention worn and or stretched belts and when they do replace belts to be sure to get the right ones ! People will often get belts 1/2 inch in width when they need 5/8 inch . And that makes a world of difference . I am amazed at how mine will climb the hill out back and march through the grass , cutting with no problem !
I don’t let my 2012 hunt gears up and down when towing in hills, wind, or on grades. I limit the top gear to 4th or 5th or run M mode to hold a gear. I preselect climbing gears and pull grades in M at part throttle. Yes I can and do drive “semi trucks”. I don’t find the cruise programming very beneficial in the way it allows the speed to drop off then downshifts 1 or 2 gears then attempts to accelerate the vehicle back to set speed at 5000 rpm. My truck was bought from a commercial user who does good maintenance and it has been a great truck. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the information. I'm biting the bullet and purchasing a new head for the cylinder that had the valve guide wander out. Next step is sealing up my shed and putting the mice to "sleep"
