Not necessarily, while it will certainly not be overnight, detergent/additives, engine condition, temperatures, climate all play a role in the time it takes. an almost 16 y/o truck with what is now getting to 150k took 8 months to clean ~10% collective carbon deposits if we assumed it followed the same trend it would take roughly 6.67-7 years of this level of effectiveness to a achieve a "perfect 100%" after that it claims to be a preventative for further deposits which I doubt but still. we can only be optimistic with data and results we can qualify and quantify
I hate to be “that guy”, but premium vs regular unleaded isn’t about cleaning additives. Octane selection is almost exclusive to the engines compression ratio and ignition timing. Isn’t it more efficient (cheaper) to use the same, or similar, detergent package in all octane ratings sharing the same branding?
I didn't introduce this fuel to the owner for the sake of performance (although it was certainly a byproduct during the experiment). The additives in Nitro V claim to remove carbon buildup which as you heard was able to remove buildup of carbon deposits on her oil rings thus to date she hasn't had any oil blow by to the piston head or the spark plugs. 100% agree cost-wise an additive to recommended standard octane fuel is preferred when attempting to achieve the same result while saving money. In this case, it did its job (roughly). The financial commitment may lead many to go for fuel injector cleaning additives and fuel stabilizers/detergent additives. Thank you for sharing and don't worry you're not that guy, I AM 😎
The normal DEWALT expander is faster than the Milwaukee fuel. The Milwaukee is also junk, the top of the expander is loose on every one I’ve seen, between the cheap junky plastic and the metal head there is okay. The Milwaukee handle is uncomfortable as hell too. Compare that dewalt to the 1-1/2” Milwaukee. It’s slower because it’s designed to expand 1-1/2” pex and that Milwaukee is designed for 1”
I agree with you on the dewalt it definitely gets the job done (haven't used the smaller dce400) but as far as the m12 fuel I didn't notice any loose parts. as for the dce410 I noticed on both (I made 2 videos each with a different tool) both of them had the metal head flex out to a noticeable gap the further up the pipe size you go. as a lefty the stupid lock button on the left side makes me shift my grip away from the rubber handle toward the plastic upper half. Both have pros and cons. Thanks for sharing!
If you want speed up the process, need to perform Italian Tune Ups on a regular basis. At lower combustion temps, short trips, more carbon will develop. Drive the vehicle at 4k rpm for 15 min at highway speeds to get the engine, valves, pistons hot. Then drive at wide open throttle till it shifts, then do a full deceleration to 1500 rpm, repeat 4-5 times. You will see marked difference in carbon removal after only one run. I have done same testing, borescope imaging, engine data logging, and fuel efficiency on my GM 2.4L Ecotec, GDI. Substantial reduction in engine knock, more advance timing, and better mpgs. Being a rental, and previous owned, you wont remove all the carbon, as it is normal aspect of burning hydrocarbons. The cleaner the engine, the longer it will last. Also need to use a premium 100% synthetic oil.
Man I haven't heard of the "italian tune up" since a scotty kilmer video a while back. Yeah cheap oil kills cars especially with some people thinking oil lasts forever lol. Most people are doing short trips and not caring about regular maintenance !
Your octane of premium is lower in the US than the UK, the premium is 99 octane what is it there? Do you know what the additive package is in the fuel? I think you're better off just using injector cleaner I put diesel injector cleaner in my petrol/gasoline and that seem to work really well. I've heard about people using isopropanol not tried it myself and don't know how well it works also 105 lacquer thinner supposed to be good not tried it. Anybody hands let me know!!
@jedi-mic for shell highest I've seen is 93. Essentially it's how resistant to explosions/pre igniting is. Fuel injector cleaner only goes so far with efficiency and my main goal was the additives that cleaned the carbon deposits. 99 octane is nice. Not a crazy fan of paint thinner or other chemicals randomly used to clean but hey if it works it works!
Great video as always. I’ve been considering this or ridgids handheld vac. I’m a low voltage tech looking to clean up drywall dust and sawdust. How’s nxt been holding up for you? I was also considering dewalts handheld or their corded/cordless shop vac. Ever try any of them?
The HEPA filters are designed to capture the smallest particles but the drawback is clogging while trying to keep your area and air clean! Not sure financially where you're at but dig a bit on amazon for ridgid compatible bags and you can fill em with drywall dust so they don't clog your filters. Sawdust is no issue. As for dewalt vacs I haven't used em. If you're in the platform you can try but my personal vote is orange here lol take my words with a grain of salt. I was just doing some sanding for a lady's kitchen table and chair legs a few days ago. She wanted sliders applied so as to not scrape her tile floor. 4 ridgid batteries in (4 ah) plus alittle 4 ah with my dewalt dcw210 and boom problem solved with no need to plug anything in allowing her to keep her AC running which was nice because we were in the mid 90s
I was running supermarket cheap fuel getting 50mpg to a gallon works out at 500 miles to a full tank been using shell vpower and have gone from 500 to 721 miles to a full tank pretty much the same locations speed.ect also my car feels so much more responsive with acceleration ect
@@danielpierpoint9629 even toyota sedans getting ~30 mpg is impressive so at 50 keep whatever you're driving as long as you can! Recently filled the tank and went to a few places. Looked down and was at half a tank! At ~4 bucks a gallon i'll stay home lol
I've been using premium fuel/high test gasoline since car was new (7yrs ago) because my car is Direct injection only & the power/response increase is needed in my n/a car....i know it costs more, but i do get better mileage (5-7%) than the manufacturers claim
GDI is a double-sided sword lol people love em but the cleaning/buildup AND Price on alot of the components push others toward the standard multiport injection. Aww jeeezzz lol Thanks for sharing Mr. Garrison! Since Mr. Slave isn't here I won't make an easy direct injection joke (oh Jeezus chrysssss)
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL Lol😀 Yeh, GDI caught me off guard when I bought my car.....but I also use a GDI specific upper engine spray cleaner (through a vacuum line... engine running etc) PS, Mr slave has run off with Mr hat & I'm worried 🙁
@@mrgarrison3516 also yeah additives can come in clutch because there's a lot of labor to taking apart certain intake portions to get to those gunked up valves. I've seen walnut sand blasting that leaves them looking NEW.
for whatever weird reason even closing the two new ball valves to the water heater, I still had steady little flow on the hot water line. That video you made with the kreg not too long ago about replacing that bottom board is gonna come in handy! The tenant said that's probably his 2nd or 3rd board he replaced. It may just be sealant because the supplies don't appear to be wet but there is water around the nuts holding the faucet on..might just be water spray getting under the fixture or possibly the fixture itself has a crack (hope not). Keep up the great work Ray!
Great review! Throwing them on a scale to do a weight comparison would be helpful, the main draw to M12 tools for me is the light weight for working overhead all day.
@zackbongle9967 in my recent video of the DCE410 you'd see the weight came out to 6 lbs 8.6 oz. As for the m12 it was about 4 lbs 6 Oz. Both measured without batteries or heads as weight with both can of course vary by configuration
Youve got some decent points for sure. And there is no doubt that someone that uses a utulity knife extensively on the daily would probably prefer your Dewalt. Especially for hard use tasks. But so many of us dont use our utility knives extensively during the day. And for many, the more compact size and belt clip are key in making sure you've got your utility knife in your pocket for when you need it. Additionally, rubber overmold is often annoying when having something with it in your pocket in my experience. Its grippy nature makes it hang up often when removing it and putting it back in your pocket. Basically boils down to what kind of knife you need. Thats why both types exist and why compact knives with pocket clips have become popular for those that dont need an all day hard use utility knife. Their compact and easy to carry in your pocket with minimal to no annoyance. The flip factor is just a fun gimmick imo because its just as fast to slide out a blade as it is to flip it. All that being said I do run the Milwaukee 6 in 1 as my daily as a left hander and have to say for the last 6 years its worked great for me. I used to run the compact but when the 6 in 1 came out i couldnt pass up the additional utility of the bit driver and the extra blade storage. That Dewalt has some nice features as well and if I had to use a knife all day every day id be carrying a unit like your Dewalt if not that exact knife for the nice features you demonstrated in your vid.
If someone gave me a fastback I definitely wouldn't say no but at the same price I preferred this one. I have heard so many good things about that 6 in 1 and the fastback's flip is in my opinion smoother. Something I forgot to mention about the dewalt is needing more pressure on the button to release the mechanism but on the other hand you can put ALOT of force on that head without is closing on ya. Some commenters got offended as if I said the milwaukee sucked lol. At the end of the day the best tool is the one you're excited to use and lost without :) ~ Work Smart
@victorkrese6727 yeah however since you can switch it to the opposite position it's in the much more right hand friendly spot you'd see on the milwaukee fastbacks in my other video. The stock position is perfect for me
Great review. I also like and appreciate that you completed the video with no cussing, well done. As for the Vac, I really like it, just wish it was dual power source, (battery/120v) like some of their work lights.
I can't promise 0 cursing lol however yes a hybrid would be cool. I have the HD1400 which is the NXT corded 14 gal ridgid and honestly never use it...cordless has set me free of ALL outlets. Unless it's popcorn ceiling or a huge drywall job this 3 gal gets it done Jack! As for the hybrid motor that can be a tough cookie to create. DeWalt's 120 Flexvolt hybrid corded/cordless miter saw has a known issue where plugging it in fries the motor! Their answer is just use batteries lol Meanwhile Flex tools like their 12" brushless dual bevel miter has the option for the FLEX adapter that turns any their 24v cordless tools into corded if you need the juice. It's a great time to be into tools with all these innovations that our past tradesmen would've loved to have to make their jobs WAYYYY more efficient. ~ Work Smart
Appreciate the additional info. Okay, I'm all in and will purchase the cordless vac tomorrow. Will also look into Flex tools. I've been a Ridgid user for Diy stuff for years, but I'm definitely open to new and cool tools (I am sure, my wife thinks otherwise!). Thanks man!
@@Thor2Q haha I'd suggest not talking to the wife about it but rather showing her how the tools improve your quality of life hahaha, a new tool really feels like medicine. Ridgid is a solid brand and I made a video not too too long ago talking about the 8 ah max output EXP battery Ridgid dropped recently if you need the run time. Ridgid discontinued the octane 9 ah batteries so that new 8 ah is the largest battery that the vac fits.
Ok..Nissan Rogue/185 HP/ Designed for 87 octane fuel..Just use a great fuel treatment..My choice is Star Tron Fuel Enzyme Treatment..Rogue is known for great torque/Bottom end HP..Gas mileage is always questionable..Use 0w20-30 Syn Oil/ Class 4 spec every 5000 miles...
personally 3k to 5k is ideal so I'm with you on the 5000 mi change interval or the time interval (ex. 12 months or 75000 miles) and for sure additives are cheaper than gas (especially nowadays) and I only use Full synthetic oil but definitely stick to whatever your manufacturer recommends. We must be responsible with the info we share. It's a short jump from using a different oil viscosity to can I use cooking or tanning oil? to ill just use water. If it asks for 5W-30 then that's what it gets. I've done a 0 degree freeze test with Full synthetic mobile 1 vs Castrol synthetic blend both 5W-30 did well which proved that even sitting overnight in ice, the right oil in your car doesn't need to be thinner unless you live in a frozen tundra lol or thicker unless you're driving through a volcano :) ~ Work Smart
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL who makes 100% synthetic does valvoline and what is it called? What's about Castrol oil or shell? amsoil does but I can't get it here easily.
@jedi-mic bummer. Excluding amsoil you can look into mobile 1, valvoline, royal purple, Castrol (gtx is okay but their Edge line seems to have superior additives). The main thing are the additives. If you're looking for anti foaming, anti sludge build up, film protection (oil leaves a small film over metal components upon contact which is important when starting your vehicle because of the time it take the engine circulate oil). I did a small oil freeze test comparing full synthetic to synthetic blend and they both handled cold fine but the full synthetic definitely is better for both extremes of temperature (lowest it gets to 10 -14 degrees F here). Find the additives you feel your car needs most and if all else fails....learn to ride a bike 🤣
@@kds471 yeah I was showing it to this guy at Home Depot he was like Foreal? I Let em try it for a bit. The only thing I forgot to add in the other video is that the dewalt button needs more pressure than the fastback. The mechanism is all metal so with time it'll probably break in :) ~ Work Smart
I think they're both better when used in two different scenarios. The milwuakee when you just need a quick knife, for just a few seconds. Not using all day type work. What I use for plumbing. Carry the compact all day, every day. However, DeWalt could be better for those that need to hold a knife for a lot longer. Few minutes, or longer, at a time. Maybe better for electricians or autobody shops, idk, but definitely could see it better in some cases. In my case, using the DeWalt, I just know it would be a hassle. The milwuakee is just so satisfying to flip open and negates most of the 'pros' of the dewalt, for me.
I heard the milwaukee hawkbill being sharpened by older guys that hang on to em for a while. This channel is about sharing tools and repairs. If you find a tool that you're excited to hold, use and feel inefficient without then that's the perfect tool for you. Price means nothing when you find you match cheap or expensive.
No one makes a left handed utility knife for the same reason in 25 years I have made 12 left handed knives....left handed folks wont buy them. They are so used to using right handed gear they dont want to retrain. I have had the argument that if I had them they will sell......and they sat for years through multiple shows and envents....its just not worth the effort for the big companies to pay the expense of re tooling to sell 100 or less....
I totally get you. I got used to right handed guitar but playing baseball for a few years I HAD to have a lefty mitt. My new video on the 4 new dewalt knives finally solved this issue. I went with the DWHT10992 and that video quickly summarizes why in a few minutes :) Thanks for sharing Doc ~ Work Smart
The same reason that for thousands of years Leaders marched armies leading on the LEFT foot. Because MOST PEOPLE ON EARTH ARE RIGHT-HANDED. and if you called a marching cadence on the right foot, by the time you reach your destination you'll be miles off your intended area.
@lSirCumference weird that these new out of package knives would not look worn...if you're referring to my Dewalt or Stanley I clean my tools between uses when I can. Having dirty scuffed and barely functional tools isn't required to share pros and cons. I'd prefer hearing something related to the channel such as what you like and dislike in a tool
As a left-handed person I think you're absolutely insane trying to make this argument bro the fastback is far and away the best box utility knife I've ever used. The button takes literally zero effort to use, your soft lil fingers will be fine. You don't need the belt clip for a folding tool anyways, it's so compact when folded it fits in a pocket way better than any other utility knife. I have no idea what you see in that absolute brick of a DeWalt. L take imo.
Hard agee. These 2 knives aren't even in the same catagory to me, completely different things. And as a lefty as well, I use my fastback all day every day and nothing touches it. I've tried and hated a dozen other utility knives and I'll buy a dozen more fastbacks before i go back to anything else
@RDubya146 all good, I don't restrict comments, thanks for sharing. Fastback is a great knife but my next video solved my issue. My hands aren't soft, I just don't need to develop lizard skin to enjoy a tool. If it works for you that's great but another knife caught my favor and I made a vid for it. As for the belt clip you may not need or like it but I do. Dewalt actually dropped some new knives and I already one up did a video on it. Very pleased with a "fastback" style knife so of the 4 new styles I grabbed the DWHT10992
@Tangent. not sure about your hand size but with limited real estate the clip is something I don't want to give up. The curved bigger size allows me a solid grip and knowing I can apply all the pressure I need to. I'm glad it works for you the fastback is super smooth 👌 😎
some people were complaining about the serrated parts...I'm like you see they have the straight drop point too? There's something for everyone lol You enjoy that tanto and don't loose any fingers jimmy!
@juliusfollmer1186 everyone hopped on the wave. Ryobi, Klein has one that has an extra stop at 135 degrees I believe. Dewalt dropped something recently if you check out my next video, and I am very pleased 😀
@juliusfollmer1186 also yeah that 6 in 1 fastback with the 1/4 bit holder removes the need to walk around with an extra tool but some people may prefer the sleek design of the models without the bells and whistles
Seriously? Manufacturers target the main group of end users..not some tiny percentage of Wrong handed people..tell you what never trust a Wrong handed person.. because you don't know what else they got mixed up..interesting fact not a single country or even race is primarily Wrong handed makes you think it's for a good reason..
@agentcovert wrong handed? Lol left-handed sports gear exists, gear, electronics, instruments etc. Assuming 10% of the world population are lefties that still opens the market to ~ 800 million consumers. I understand the entire focus being profitability however you wouldn't tell companies not to make a medicine if only 0.000000000001% of a population had a disease. Same concept applies for markets without competition would mean easy money 💰. Just know there's no wrong handed people just wrong people and you are one..
appreciate it Ray, I'm not a plumber but if I can get it done faster I can do more good for someone who needs it. not sure if i'll keep the DeWalt. She's a beauty but a 1.3 - 1.5 ah battery is the most you'll want weighing this thing down.
good stuff! I went bare tool then got the 3 original sizes and some cone grease for 610+ . I got beef with DeWalt but I have no bias lol Let me know how it holds up :)
Seems like it cleaned it a bit. I would say that a fueld additive detergent that comes in bottles would be more useful and then the Shell is just there to maintain and to prevent carbon build up.
I've tried the lucas fuel additive for cleaning injectors and seen little if any changes in performance. The shell fuel was certainly effective, the concern is the commitment to pricing and patience. Shell says that this fuel doesn't just clean but prevents build-up so I'd recommend people not let it get bad.
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL I watched chris fix video on a one time use of techron and nothing really changed. I think the results you've gotten despite taking several months is already great. Thanks for the video and amazing commitment.
Would love to see a similar video showing the cleaning ability of Chevron premium fuel. My car requires premium and my owners manual recommends Chevron brand. Would be interesting to see if it cleans as well as Shell premium.
I would say as far as processing and refining shell and chevron have separate processes, However because shell refining has more shall we say quality control they are able to justify higher pricing. There are no chevron fuel stations near me. I would say as long as you have the recommended octane level (premium for different people can be 91, 93 etc.) your fuel should be fine as long as you're not filling at some cheap sketchy place where you have to jiggle the handle and spin around 3 times for it work lol
I'm sure only diamond tips work for sharpening carbide but the bi metal should be softer. I'm gonna plumb in a supply next saturday (hopefully) from the kitchen faucet to a washing machine and these babies are gonna make the two holes for each line (hot and cold). Wonder what milwaukee's policy voids if you try sharpening these
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL interesting thought. No idea. I feel like only thing they would replace is catastrophic failure (welded seam ripping apart) which seems super rare considering how thick these things are. If going through something you can get to both sides I usually go halfway then go to the other side and continue, that way you don’t blow out massive chips on one side. Obviously doesn’t matter going through places you can’t see, because you can’t see the backside. Haha
@@CluckingCraftsman that was actually a tip I was gonna share in that future video since the guide bit on these are flush with the teeth. Cheap landlords use cabinets made of basically chipboard so blowout is unavoidable. I'll drill out the center point first if anything. Thanks for sharing!
Had 2 associates with higher ups on the phone and the head of the tools department lol. They really didn't want to honor the price because of how it was ringing up and the scan. They're pretty solid for 40 bucks the carbide versions are 150!
Old homes and apts have so many cuts and splices burried. I'm about to make this one apartment look like a sequel to Jaws because they're gonna see plenty of sharkbites. These landlords don't fix unless it's bleeding, on fire, or fails an inspection lol
The tool is nice. All should be informed the high and low pressure side should have the same RESTING pressure. This should only take about 10 min after turning system off. But wait and it’s best to verify with gauges. If the high side doesn’t drop and low doesn’t rise to equal each other then there is a restriction somewhere (expansion valve, condensor, etc) Good safety precaution and diagnostic note.
thank you for sharing! I did make that clear from 10:35 - 11:51 also noted humidity and summer temperatures cause that pressure to decrease slower As for the gauge yes you should be verifying pressures as I've shown in ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pa9X-onIHz8.html while doing diag for this same vehicle. 09 honda civic hybrid
@@JStorm24 The hoses on a manifold gauge set connect to the high and low side ports respectively. No they do not attach to the tools used in this video which are only to change the valve cores. It is important to note when checking pressures that you use a bit of refrigerant connected to your manifold and purge air in the lines so that atmosphere and moisture aren't introduced to your sealed system.
Man, you just saved me $179.99 + 11.5% tax. Thanks!!! Gonna buy a homelite battery one instead. I have one Gas and one rotate the tube to lock it. No plastic piece that might possibly break.
It's typically ideal to replace suspension parts in pairs. Usually new parts will force the worn parts to work harder to compensate performance. Struts, shocks, brakes, control arms, sway bar links, tie rods inner or outer, hub bearings etc. If you only have the money for one it's understandable and go at least replace what is broken/unsafe. The reason it's also good is because when you replace suspension parts it's essential to get a high quality laser alignment within your vehicle's spec. it costs more to get alignments between each suspension part so it's good to do most or all at once and pay the alignment fee when needed.
That's strange, not sure of your make and model but assuming in one of the years listed in the title all your pulleys should be ribbed except the water pump pulley
@@anthonybradway8925 a shorter belt to bypass water pump? Assuming it should be the stock part, Honda 19224-PZA-003 is the part for the pulley which is not ribbed. Did someone change your pulley and grab one with the ribs and since it fit they left it? Your ac compressor, crankshaft and tension pulley should have ribs not the WP
@@anthonybradway8925 Most belts have the factory configuration in mind unless the manufacturer puts a diagram showing a new belt routing diagram instruction on the packaging. Even if there's a bypass pulley where the ac is it'll still need to be used. shorter belts may work but that depends on if you have an auto or manual belt tensioner which I'm assuming you have the belt that tensions itself.
Absolutely worst purchase trimmer purchase I've made to date. I watched the original video, and this one and after 3 days of fighting this, I got the head off. Goodie. Now I can't get it back on. I'm done. Won't be buying anything Ryobi again.
Definitely understand frustrations with some tool designs but condemning an entire brand because of one tool isn't ideal. When you say get the head off, do you mean opening the head to add new string? What model are you using? If you can't get it back on, as I showed in the video shaving some of the material where the lock engages significantly reduces the force needed to unlock and lock the head
@@TOOL_TECHNICAL I own other RYOBI products that I have never had problems with. But, the fact that I've spent a solid week trying to simply try to figure out how to remove the head of this thing and now can't get it back on and can't take it to get serviced, makes me understand that the amount of customer service you are going to get if you have a problem is nil. I have filed down the edges like you have said. So, I have purchased another trimmer, with a 4 year warrantee and the possibility of having some local help if I need it. It's not the product itself that I have a problem with necessarily, but the fact that there is no customer service when there is one.
@@mrs.donohue9569 ahh I see thank you for sharing that, customer service can truly make or break an experience with anything from food to tools. I know Hawaii has little to no local Ryobi authorized repair locations and having to ship them to the mainland for warranties has many Hawaiians turning their backs on the green tools. I'm just curious as to what exactly is stopping your tool from coming back together. The entire point of Ryobi's EZ reel system was to minimize assembly and frustration.
The point of the experiment was testing the effects of the quality from the additives in the fuel. Using other additives is like saying why did you run that race when you could drive to the finish line lol. This was meant to see if people are paying for a brand name like Shell or if they will genuinely benefit from mechanical/performance improvement. Thanks for sharing
