I’m not a baseball player but am a lefty. It kinda sucks from what I can tell the culture of little league seems kinda cutthroat. If you tell kids (lefty kids) they can’t play catcher mostly likely they wouldn’t devote time to anything to do with the position. On top of that it’s hard to really practice being a lefty catcher in an actual game situation I would think. It seems like a self fulfilling prophecy. Lefties aren’t catchers because few will give them the time of day if they try to play that position. Being a lefty catcher seems more inconvenient for the catcher. If you don’t mind moving to the side to throw (which may help you stay lose or somethin) why not let more lefties practice catching?
I was only 10 years old in 92 but I still remember that season. Every start was practically an auto-win. I always loved how quickly he pitched too, his games went fast!
Fast forward to mid May 2024, and Stantons ranks among all DHs in MLB: OPS - 5 Slug - 4 HR - tied 5 RBI - tied 7 Still slow as all get out, but he's had a really nice rebound season so far. Even got his average up to a nearly respectable level (currently .243).
Tommy Lasorda once asked Guerrero what is he thinking about when he in the field. His answer was “I hope that he doesn’t hit the ball to me.” Flabbergasted by his answer Lasorda asked a follow-up question “what else are you thinking about? I” “I hope they don’t hit it to Sax. “😊
THE best arm ever. Dude applied 0% of his body on that throw. Just arm. What a clip. I would go so far as to say best arm of all time. I don’t think any other person could ever make a throw like that.
