Hello. I'm Kaz and Thank you for visiting my RU-vid channel "PLATOKI-Scale Model Airplane".
Most of my videos will be aircraft because I enjoy modeling plastic airplane scale model kits, especially fighter jets. I would appreciate it if you could subscribe. I will post a video once a month.
I can’t believe that 5,000 people subscribed my channel! Really appreciated it!
Again, thank you for visiting my channel. I hope you like my video.
Great build. Nice work! Should the color on topsides be more of a dark sea gray? Yours looks a bit light in shade......and I can see this if it were extremely faded over time. I'm comparing to the real aircraft and it looks as if it should be darker than presented.
I just subscribed, I really appreciate airbrush settings and paint ratio. Maybe next time you can make mini tutorial on dry brushing or other brushing techniques? Thank you.
I bought this kit a few days ago and this will be the first and last Revell kit I buy. The quality is VERY bad and this was a kit from 2020, I already started painting but in the future I will stick with Tamiya kits, they have molds from 1998 that are better quality...
Thank you for your comment. I agree in part for your comment. Some part quality is not so good. I like its reasonable price and decal for Revell.tamiya is the best for sure!
A wonderfully skilled build, a lot of modellers with this level of talent go on to add weathering and chipping, which, whilst realistic I think sometimes ruins the overall look of the model, it's refreshing to see a finished kit just clean and in the colour scheme it would have left the factory. A top job sir. 🫡
Thank you so much for your comment. Yes weathering to 5th generation air craft is kind of dilemma. Still trying to find out what is the best for the model…
[Note] this place is moved to new location right across the street which is very close to original place . Please see link below. Thank you for visiting PLATOKI. www.tamiya.com/english/newstopics/e_news_14 maps.app.goo.gl/x8m91zNu9ky6JouD8?g_st=ic
Just FYI this store is now closed, the new one opened across the street. In reality the prices are not the best at the Tamiya store and you can get cheaper Tamiya models at shops like Yodobashi Camera in Tokyo.
From 1963-1965, I was a member of the USMC Squadron, VMFA-531. We served on Hot Pad at NAS Key West, FL, and the in 1964 were sent to NAS Atsugi, Japan. In spring of 1965 we were sent to DaNang, South Vietnam to supply air cover for the Marine Infantry. SF!!! I worked in the Metal Shop and painted many of our aircraft with the Gray Ghost scheme!! I did get a back seat ride in one of our aircraft!!! Nice work !!!
What a story… Thank you so much for sharing your valuable experience. I am glad my model could be somehow part of your history. Appreciated your feedback back! Also I do appreciate your dedication to the country I really respect all of things you have achieved… and you are back in here now…
Thank you for your feedback. Yes gross varnish is applied 1) to protect decal, 2) Fill in the gloss difference from decal to decal, and 3) protection from enamel paint which is weather step after. I hope this answer your question. Please let me know if you have any questions, thanks!
wish Bandai would make almost color accurate military model kits of stuff like these, F-35, Abrams etc. like they already make 100% color accurate gundam model kits, i imagine military model kits would be harder to make color accurate right out of the box so just having the big colors right is enough for me, since these kinds of glued and painted model kits are beyond my skill and patience.
Thank you so much for your comment. Duplicating the actual fuslage color is one for the highlight for modeling. Some of the kit has originally colored parts on it but you are right, most of the colors are not accurate.
Thank you for your comment. That means a lot. I hope you enjoy phantom too! I have built and crated a video for phantom too👍ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3C4n3sRaLUA.htmlsi=cW_uxS6qVES4-poR
Built the 1/48th Tamiya F-35A which is the Air Force version. Great kit when it comes to fit, the only bad thing is the molded on RAM tape that should have been flat not raised and it ruins the realistic look it otherwise would have had. You can do better Tamiya
Thank you so much for your comment! Agreed that Tamiya is one of the best kit for me. I’m always impressed by its quality. Thanks also for the RAM information. I built F35A too, and good to know.
I just finished my F-35 from Tamiya and it was a real 3 months fun. I will foolow your lead for Tomcat coming back to modelling after 30 yrs of a break. Cheers :)
Thank you so much for your comment. That means a lot . Also Congratulations on completing F35! It was really few months project I understand. I’m sure Tamiya quality satisfied your craftsmanship 👍
A great video. I am about to start one myself and picked up a load of great hints & guidance! If it is half as good as yours I will be delighted! I am also going for the "Beast Mode" with all doors open to show the fabulous detail on this kit.
Thank you so much for your comment and sharing your story! Yes building F35 in beast mode ins one of the highlight of the kits. I’m going to try F35 in flying mode some day!
It was nostalgic to see you build this kit. I built it myself but it is now broken, with missing parts. When I built it, I left the stores pylons off and cut the Spitfire decal into 3 to help put it on. Of all the models I've damaged, I regret that one one of the most. I hope Revell re-release the kit so I can repair mine and build the other two options.
Thank you so much for your comment and Sharing the story. The Spirfire decal was pretty high level to attach! Actually I bought this kit since I liked this Spitfire design. Let us hope this kit is re-designed and released 😁
I always watch it. The bold weathering and coloring are so amazing that I couldn't imitate it no matter how hard I tried. 😅 I also think the photography techniques used during production are fantastic.😊🎉
As usual, the masking makes for some great color separation that's really crisp. P. S. Finally found my first plane model to build. Should be fun. Have learned plenty about the intricacies of planes from your videos.
This is very old school modelling, no pre or post shading, no weathering, painting directly on sprues, weird semi gloss finish, exactly like hasegawa catalog models back in the nineties. You should check out Plasmo or Night Shift they're true masters at modern modelling.
Welcome back to another video of PLATOKI. If you enjoyed my video, make sure to make a comment or subscribe.
