I would like to see the next time you do storage wars with a unit stacked to the brim with baked beans. I don't need Heinz, I'll take any brand of bean. How many of those have you done so far?

I am going with it being a contractor, or a pub that did KFC draws for a charity, not KFC's unit. KFC wouldn't have a Resch's sign. This unit sold about 2 weeks earlier for $180 - I assume you were tied up on the great Southern unit, and I was still processing my last sale then - I thought it went to one of the Wodonga regulars, but it probably went to someone from Melbourne who didn't travel up for it. I am surprised how many Melbourne and occasional Sydney people bid on daggy units in Albury and Wodonga. It is funny how we interpret pictures differently (and it is why I asked that company to take two or three photo's from different angles to give perspectives). This one is about precisely what I interpretted from the picture, except for the KFC aspect , although the Resch's sign is more roached than I thought. The last one you did was much fuller than I thought from the pic. When I worked in industrial auctions in Sydney I learned how grotty catering equipment can be from some of the liquidations and repossessions that came through. On the bright side you didn't have dead (or alive) rats through it - the worst of it did.

Merry Christmas Josh, and congratulations on the new addition to the family! I hope everyone is healthy. All the best for the coming year. The lounge is surprisingly tidy for a grotty unit like that, and more collectables than I would have expected, which is never a bad thing. It was a fuller unit than I thought from the photo.

Merry Christmas to you too Kevin. The little man is doing very well. Yeah the lounge was actually in great condition. Yeah it was definitely a hit or miss sort of unit.

Looks weird on the video when you stop for traffic lights.

Seriously Josh, if you are going to do this long term, get yourself a pantech with a tailgate loader. You will risk your own health less, and, particularly when picking up in 4 seasons in one day Melbourne and those southern regions, you will have a lot less risk of damage to the furniture and stock you're buying (but be aware that tailgate loaders can get slippery in rain) - when loading boxes and small items, I set mine halfway up and use it as a step to walk the stuff into the truck. As someone who dealt for 20 years in ephemera, always look under the bottom drawers of filing cabinets. Interesting stuff can fall out the backs of drawers, and on one occassion (from an estate in an auction house, not a storage unit) I found a stash of cash.

G'day Josh, There is a reason why I got myself a truck with tailgate loader before I started doing this. You don't have to worry about the angles of loading ramps on heavy items, and it takes a lot of pressure off your back etc (I am older so it was more imperitave for me). Also find a trolley with an easy tilt lever system - I got lucky, and got one in a unit out of Wollongong - they allow you to get the leverage on items that usually need at least two people to move. Very handy if you are doing this on your own, along with a dolly where all 4 wheels turn. While it probably wouldn't have helped with the precarious stuff above the beds, I also keep a folding kitchen step (ladder) in the truck - it takes up minimal room, but it lets you safely get at boxes when they are stacked high (particularly in high cube containers). Also worth noting when estimating loads, that a full 20 foot high cube container can have a lot more stuff in it than a full standard 20 foot container - I can usually get a fairly full standard container into my truck, but a high cube is much more likely to exceed my truck, and thus need a second trip. It looks like this unit has potential, but you need it to at the money paid. The designer stuff is promising, I have rarely had any designer stuff in what I have handled, but it is not what I am aiming for. This is a unit to look through everything - including the envelopes and folders you are returning as personal - there is an off chance that there could be cash notes turn up somewhere through that stuff. I finally caught up on what I was doing in the last 24 hours, but it looks like you will be busy over the next few days. I can give you a call at a mutually suitable time if you would like to have a chat. Good Luck with it all, Kevin

G’day Josh, Curious to see what else is in this one. I only had the nerve to go about $2700 on it. I knew it was a large unit. Curious to see if it is a collectors unit. Plenty of boxes if it is. Good luck. Cheers Kevin

Hey Kevin, Thanks for checking out my video. Yeah i was lucky to get this unit. As you would know, abandoned storage units are always a gamble. I'm looking to do move videos on this unit including some unboxing videos after my next trip down there.
