Oh my gosh I just have to say how much I adore you and all of your educational and amazing videos that you post thank you thank you thank you!!!:) your super smart, kind and just the best.God Bless and☮️😁❤️
So I had two girls, just under a year. One of them passed so I got another female, but the only one they had was freshly weaned, so I figure 3 weeks-ish. Had her in her own smaller cage for about a month, next to the big cage. They were fine in our bathroom and every other neutral area. We decided today to put my younger one in the big cage today, she's a few months now. My older girl is being very territorial, and she's twice her size so she's constantly dominating. I've been mostly letting it play out and it hasn't gotten too bad, but I'm just wondering if she's still too young. I want them to have companions and not have them grow up in separate cages, and they have to get along at some point. Is she too young or should I just grit my teeth and bare through it as long as they're not drawing blood? One note, my older one has always been stand offish with everyone in the family execept me, she's always been a moodly little shit lol. My young one is a sweetheart and a daddy's girl so I'm just cautious.
If possible, could you please describe the metal items you used? Sizes etc would be greatly appreciated! Love the video can’t wait to watch more! Thank you!

this worked SO WELL!!! my rat woke up with one eye closed shut. I used this trick twice in one day and her eye was back to normal by nighttime. THANK YOU SO MUCH
For rats being in distress? If you think that empathy for animals in distress is a product of this time then you must have the mentality of someone from the middle ages :/
Didn't take long to actually get some useful info here. I was curious about whether or not one of my girls had HLD and the comment about dragging the tail confirmed it. I wish more rat resources would get straight to the point
I've had 6 rats so far in my life, and none of them had wheel-tail, but since it's likely a rare genetic trait, I'm not surprised I never saw it before. Kin Kin's tail is very cute. :-) However, I do NOT think "doodle tail" looks cute in the photos you shared. :-( It looks uncomfortable at best, and dangerous at worst (i.e. more likely to be injured).
I used to work for the breeders for Petco. We took good care of the rats and although so of the employees may not have, I handled and played with all of them whenever I could. I understand that there is a huge amount of hatred for places like this, but not all of it is warranted, and a lot of people just jump on the bandwagon.
Actually! Before buying a cage, make sure the bars aren't too far away from each other and that there is extra bar on the doors (they can push through). I bought a regular small rodent cage when I was first getting mice and one of them kept escaping. So not all normal cages are suitable for mice. But depends on how large your mouse is, now I have another, bigger and fluffier mouse in that cage, and he can't escape even if he wanted to. also how is this video 6 years old-
It's a shame that you can't really tell how long a rat will live when it's still young and in breeding age. Maybe if they bred long-lived domestic rats together, they could spread those genes.
My oldest rat is around 2 years and 3 months old he’s definitely showing his age we have 3 around that age their fur is thinning and it’s sad they’re slowing down
My older male does the forceful grooming quite a bit to my younger one but I haven’t had and super bad fights break out between them, and they have their moments of grooming and sleeping on top of each other.
its wat i noticed immediately when i bought my first pet store rat, was how kinda anti ppl they were compared to my previous rats which were from a Breeder. the rats from the breeder actually wanted to free range and wanted to be around the owner n play. However i was happy to give them a home anyways. Funny thing too last time i checked some breeders tried to sell me a rat for 100$ dollars each , like wtf
Love this hidey-hole hammock & your easy-to-follow video.... great job! I'd love to sew a couple of these for my niece-Rat, Coco🥰🐀, who will be living in the US, in my care for the Summer, while her Mama will out of the Country in Okinawa, with her military family. Thanks so much for this great tutorial! God bless!😇 [4.25.2023]
Could I properly use the dewormer still if it's a baby that's about 2 weeks?? I found the babies in my shed after cleaning it out. 😬 I just found them not even 10 minutes ago & I've had the poor thing for about a week.
I know this video is old but I want to thank you so much for informing people Of this. I have Fancy Mice and I gave a lil dobble on the back of their ear to consume when they groom themselves. No later than a few hours no itching or scratching, a fixed posture and they seemed over all less stressed so far so good. I’m very grateful
The shampoo thing was the reason i found this but even other than that this was soooo helpful! Although you seem to have forgot that you should NEVER get water hear their ears.
Is it normal for rats to sometimes rarely accidentally hurt each other? I have two rats who love each other a lot, however once every month I’ll hear them at night and it will be very loud and they will both be screaming super loud and I will go to check and one of my rats had similar injuries at 6:45 however it was a bit worse, it has been healing but I’m still confused on how my rats whwre born and raised together and they get along. But very rarely it’s almost like they get into arguments
My baby chinchilla is getting his left back leg amputated tomorrow morning. They already prescribed him the Baytril.......was it trimethoprim sulfa that you said worked better? I am giving him the Baytril for tonight, maybe he won't react badly but I want to ask about the trimethoprim sulfa!?!?
My friend is thinking of getting a couple rats. Going to show him this video just so he knows the difference between fighting and playing. It's hard to explain lol
