I have a couple of his songs on various play list, I think he has a lot of talent, but to be honest, I have no interest in knowing who or what he sleeps with! It ain’t even that deep!!!
Wonderful And Awesome Band Singer Ms Day my Sister had this I literally wore the groves off the album still love more my Sister had this album I wore the grooves out almost love the acts that came after Kid Creole an the Coconuts
Love ❤️ Ruth Pointer, she is so amazing and very funny. I love ❤️ her deep voice, and her songs 🎶 she sang, Automatic and Neutron Dance and also she is a fantastic and beautiful gospel singer. I am so happy 😊she is continuing the Pointer Sisters legacy with her daughter and grand daughter, thank you for all the beautiful music, videos and interviews, The Pointer Sisters legacy will live on forever. You all were my favourite female group growing up. So sad 😢that June, Bonnie and Anita had passed on, but, I am sure they are singing 🎵 with the angels 😇 in heaven. R.I.P. June, Bonnie and Anita. 🙏🙏🙏💙💙💙
So happy to see this album is still available, ordering the CD now, my vinyl wore out long ago from hours of play. best vibes for making chores fun !!!
Be true to yourself, always......everybody needs to remember what their address is and take care of business at their own address. Until I saw this video I never knew and now that I know, it doesn't change my respect for him and his music.
I remember when he started on Star Search. Every time he opens his mouth in song my world changes! His sound sticks with you like a home cooked meal sticks to your ribs.
Quantum studio in torrence ca donnie Scirrotto's place, Stevie Wonder called the stucio & said wrote a tune for Chaka and came down to the studio with his drummer & cut Tell Me Sumpthin Good on a 2 track tape machine ..then the Rufus band cloned it & the rest is history / Stevie did 2 takes I was there Stevie blew my fn mind total genius!! Saw ray there once he super funky
It's definitely not my Rufus & Chaka Khan favorite song but I know it was a staple for many fans back in the day. One of those fans was miss Natalie Cole that said on several interviews that the song was 1 of her favorites. Incredible how Brenda Russell's talent is around for so many decades now. She truly deserves her flowers too.
It's crazy that this and Torture came out the same year, and they performed it live on the victory tour which was amazing. 84 was a Jacksons packed year cuz MJ was still riding high off thriller and Jermaines album Dynamite, which this song came off of, was doing extremely well too on top of the Victory album. The 40th anniversary is in a couple months so i hope they finally release the tour on Blu Ray or something with all that footage they have😮💨.
I don’t care who he has sex with. This man is very talented and can sang his ass off. My first song that I heard from him was Where You Are. And till this day is still my favorite.
I never saw you as anything as who you are. You are everything ….AMAZING! I love you since Video Soul. I love Ms.Trina Brausaud (spelled wrong). But….your voices are so amazing!!! I love you ❤️ Please come to the Chicago City Winery!!!!! We love you ❤️
Valerie Simpson recorded some demos of the sons she wrote for Diana Ross. With all due respect for Diana Ross, I think Valerie sang those songs better. I love Valerie’s voice no matter what she is singing. She is such a humble class act with so much talent. I play her interviews over a lot.
They are so many people from an era that fell by the wayside who had so much. The "business" has screwed us out quality music. Him, Tonya Blount, Taral Hicks, Jimmy Cozier, Derrick Dimitry, Dionne Faris, etc. were talents that we needed more of. I remember him with Fergie on Kid Incorporated "K-I-D-S". 😆 I feel old....
'The Other Woman' is the greatest song that Lenny Kravitz never recorded. The way it sounds could've been something Kravitz had written and recorded in a past life.
High praise indeed from Lisa - I expect Tina (RIP), Sting, Luther(RIP), Chaka, Mick Jagger would be as glowing about the best backing singer in the world. What a humble person Lisa is!!!!!!
I know someone that worked in the studio on two diana ross albums in the 1980's and he said she knew what she wanted and wasted no nd had no time for anyone wasting her time. He said more than any other artist she worked fast and smart and was totally comfortable and would flat tell you to our face it was unhappy but then let it go and get on with it. She would arrive every day in the studio as DIANA ROSS - glamour and it all. it was all a part of her getting into it. She said she was was a DIVA-no doubt but by this point she'd been putiting out hits for 25 years.
What a beautiful creature Cory Daye is and how modest she talks about her contribution to this truly iconic arrangement, which was unpreceded and never had a successor of it's likes again. Like herself, we did not have money at the time the album was released, so we did not smoke and drink for weeks until we got enough money to buy the record and played it over and over and over .... Finally found you, Cory.
